Couldn’t hear him I was in the back seat, spoke very fast. They say they can meet you other places for pick up, but weren’t willing to work with us. So we had to come 1/2 hour from east & then while in the van we went east a 1/2 hour. And the people they booked the day before got picked up at their hotel. Other group of ladies also were picked up where they stayed. A rough ride, not worth 75 a person!!! Only offered dry wines. Our driver gave us the tour, not sure if he worked for the winery?

Pick-up arrangements
Our tour description clearly states that pick-up is available in Lagos only. Your accommodation was outside our designated pick-up area, and you were informed of this well in advance. You were explicitly offered two options: cancel the booking or make your own way to the agreed meeting point in Lagos. You chose to proceed with the tour, fully aware of these conditions.
We therefore consider it unfair to criticise our company for adhering to a clearly stated pick-up policy that was communicated to you before the tour. We cannot offer individual pick-ups outside our designated area simply because other customers may have different arrangements or meeting points.
The guide and commentary
Our guide is a professional with the knowledge and experience required to conduct the vineyard visit, explain the winemaking process and provide information about the local wine industry. A microphone was used during the tour to ensure that the commentary could be heard by the group.
We regret that you experienced difficulty hearing the commentary. However, the appropriate equipment was provided, and we cannot reasonably be held responsible for individual hearing difficulties when the necessary measures have been taken. Our guide's professionalism and knowledge are also reflected in the numerous reviews left by previous guests, which provide a broader and more representative picture of the experience we offer.
The wine selection and quality
Algarve wines have their own distinctive regional characteristics. Many are relatively dry rather than particularly sweet or fruit-forward. This is a characteristic of the wines, not a reflection of inferior quality.
The wines presented during our tour are selected from a region with an established winemaking tradition, and Algarve wines have received recognition and awards at national and international level. Wine preferences are subjective, and we respect that not every style will appeal to every visitor. Nevertheless, it is important to distinguish personal preference from the quality of the product itself.
Our service and value
Our tour is not simply a transport service or an opportunity to taste a particular style of wine. It is an organised experience that includes a vineyard visit, professional guidance, an explanation of the winemaking process and wine tasting. We believe the experience should be assessed against what was actually advertised and delivered.
We respect every customer's right to express an opinion. However, we also believe that reviews should take into account the information provided before booking, the conditions accepted by the customer and the professional service delivered on the day.
We stand by our tour description, our pick-up policy and the professionalism of our guide. While we accept that personal expectations and preferences may differ, we do not agree that circumstances already explained and agreed upon before the tour should be presented as failings on our part.
Great experience overall. We were a group of 4 travelling with 2 seniors. The tour was organized perfectly from start to finish and our guide Filipe, was so knowledgeable and kind. We truly enjoyed our stop in the beautiful town of Silvas and loved relaxing at the winery after our tour enjoying a tasting and tapas. 10/10

Our guide Filipe was a fountain of knowledge! Knew the history of Portugal as well as the wine process! The first stop was the castle at Silves which was good but we didn't have long there to explore fully. Silves an ancient town and looked nice. After trying out 'the sweetest orange juice in Portugal' we headed to Quinta do Frances winery. Nice place and after Filiipe talked us through the wine making procees and seeing the barrels in the cellar we were trated to a cheese and meat platter along with trying 3 wines. We had a nice experience.
Felipe was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about Portugal. The wine experience was amazing and we loved meeting the other people on the trip. 10/10
Really nice and relaxed afternoon wine tasting! Got to learn more about the local area, and see up close how the wine is made. The wine itself was really good, and our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable :)
We were looking for a short wine tasting tour and this one fit the bill. We had the option to get picked up at our hotel which was very convenient, then the tour was conducted by Filipe. He was friendly, welcoming and spoke about a lot of the local facts/history that we otherwise would not have known.
We visited the castle in Silves which was neat, then went to the winery. The wines were amazing and I would definitely recommend.
A great way to spend an afternoon around Lagos! It was super fun to see the Moorish castle as well as get a tour at the winery. Our tour guide / driver was absolutely fantastic and was very knowledgeable about the region and the wine. Highly recommend!
It was a lovely 31/2 hrs ish
Our guide Roy was very pleasant, knowledgeable about wine making, punctual & signposted what we were going to do on a regular basis. Communication was clear & helpful. We had free 40 min to walk to the Silves castle which was nice to do .
At the actual wine tasting once he left the bar girls to do the (3 wine) tasting - there was a long wait between glasses & eventually we all bought ourselves a glass of wine. We would have preferred them to get the glasses for tasting once our glasses were empty & then we could have bought ourselves & enjoyed the views of the vineyard rather than wait for agesssss for the tasting wine to arrive.
We learnt about the process, saw the barrels, Roy offered to kindly take photos for us , was overall lovely
Time spent at sevil Castle could have been a bit longer. The wine tastes experience and walk round wine making fascilty was good and informative. The journey to destination was also good. I would recommend this tour.
Small group tour with very knowledgable driver/tour guide, about the area (if not a little over-enthusiastic talking about himself a lot!). However, he was very friendly and introduced everyone to each other and went out of his way for guests to be able to take photos etc.
Wonderful tour. However we would have liked to have longer in Silves, 40 mins was nowhere near enough. An hour and a half would’ve been ideal.
Phillip was absolutely fabulous and so knowledgeable about the history of Lagos & Silves. We enjoyed our stop at the historic castle in Silves & then enjoyed great wine. Would recommend!

The guide , Phillip, was outstanding. Very informative and knowledgeable about the area. We did a stop at Silves before going to wine tasting. At the vineyard the wine was good. 4 different tastings. We didn’t purchase any wine because they could not ship to US. Only would ship to European countries. Overall the trip was great.
We took this tour in May 2026. Our driver/tour guide was Filipe. He was good at providing information about Lagos, the farming business, stork nests (with baby storks), Silves castle, and the Quinta do Frances winery. Filipe gave us plenty of time to enjoy the Silves castle (which is huge, and in remarkable shape given its age). He also provided and intro to the Quinta do Frances wines and took us on a tour of the wine making process. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
The guide Filipe Simao, I highly recommend. He us so knowledgeable and take the time to explained Portugal's history, sites, plants and birds and the winery history and wine making process. He made recommendation of wines, food we had such a wonderful time.
Fillipe was an exceptional tour guide. He provided a detailed history of the region. The wine tour was thorough and very informative. The wine was excellent. I’d highly recommend this tour.

This was an excellent tour! Filipe was full of local information. We were not expecting to stop in Silvas so that was a nice bonus. The wine tour was informative with great photo opportunities and nice wines. Highly recommend .

Excellent tour of an outstanding winery. We ended up buying six bottles, and would have bought twelve had it not been for the weight limitations of our suitcase. I offered to remove my wife’s shoes to make room, but she was noncompliant 😛

About Tapas - It's a small Tapas plate to enjoy with the Wine 🍷 not a meal. Most of the people think it's enough and sometimes even there is some they don't finish the Tapas.
