The walk gave us a nice overview of the history of Halifax. Our guide was a lot of fun and explained things well.
Rhonda was very knowledgeable about the local area. The group was fairly large and she handled the tour really well. She answered all the questions posed and also navigated the needs of the group. Felt we had a really good understanding of Halifax at the end of the tour. Would recommend.
Ian was definitely the guide to have in this city! All the facts and little details make a difference! He kept us interested and wanting more of the city! It was a challenging walk as we went up and up, but very good for the old ticker and soul! I would go on this tour again!
Thoroughly informative, not too challenging, gives a valuable insight into the history of Halifax, its maritime and military.
Duncan was fantastic. One of the best walking tour guides I’ve ever encountered. Tour was longer than expected which was great.
This was one of the best walking tours we have taken on our international travels. Our tour guide, Duncan, is born and raised in Halifax, and was extremely knowledgeable with an encyclopedia of information to share. Highly recommend, but ask for Duncan as your guide.
Victor was an excellent tour guide. He gave us an excellent overview of Halifax. Got us to the Citadel in time for the noon firing of the cannon. He was extremely patient with us as we had confused the meeting place.
Thanks Victor
Norma
Easy walk , perfect amount of architectural sights and history! Adrian was knowledgeable and friendly, really enjoyed the tour!
Glenn walks very, very quickly. There was a couple with walking aids that couldn’t keep up and had to drop out. When Glenn got to something he wanted to point out he started talking before everybody could catch up. It was a 2 1/2 hour walking tour with no bathroom break.

We typically have a bathroom break at the Public Gardens , We will check in with Glenn on your concerns to provide feedback.
Glen was a knowledgeable an entertaining guide. He tells a wide range of stories from the board walk to the gardens and fort. A very enjoyable 2 1/2 Hrs. Inspires a return visit.

Thank for joining us and exploring our beautiful city
Excellent, partly strenuous, walking tour. Glenn did a great job, giving particularly moving accounts of the Halifax explosion and the Titanic tragedy. Beautiful sights, interesting history and architecture. Easy walking, except for the hike up to and down from the citadel.

Thanks for joining us yesterday : our hilly city can be quite a walk on our tour of the downtown , public gardens and citadel . The plus is the end is flat along the waterfront to the starting point. Hope you enjoyed your time in our beautiful city.

Very interesting walking tour. Andrienne was a very inyeresting, knowledgeable guide. Covered a total of 2.5 miles, mostly flat but a couple areas of stairs/hills. Bathrooms available at midpoint. Wished we could have taken 10 minutes to pop in a shop or two, but this was a shopping excursion. Halifax is a beautiful city with lots of history.
Response from Host, Sep 2026

Our city has so many stories to tell !
Thanks for this recommendation
I m sorry I didn't catch the name of our guide. He was fabulous. Very friendly, very respectful, very entertaining. Also, very considerate and thoughtful - he would pause when a loud truck went by. One funny incident - he moved us all 25 feet or so before the noon cannon fired, so we wouldn't be in the way of the 100 or more pigeons near by, knowing they would be frightened by the cannon.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
