Very interesting tour. Sandra was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. It should be noted that the tour is about 6 km of walking. Alhambra has quite a few steps.

The tour operator cancelled the guided tour one day before. We had made the reservation in February. The tour operator gave us an audio guide which didn’t work well at all. A total waste of our time & money. Very disappointed with Viator.

Given the price per person of 70 euros I expected a more intimate tour. There were at least 25 people in our group and I was left behind at one point after the guide invited us to take our time taking photos. The main attraction, the Nasrid palaces are closed for renovation. The gardens are beautiful, but if what you want to see is the glorious medieval moorish architechture, I suggest you visit the mosque in Cordoba or the Real Alcazar in Seville.

Traveled with elderly parents using canes and the Alhambra was a lot for them. If we had done only the Nasrid Palace, it would have been just fine. We had trouble using the audio guide and matching the location to the audio loop segment. More guidance on that would have been helpful.

Lots of walking , esp the steep climb to get to Alhambra . Make sure bring water and wear sunscreen . Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I have always had good experiences with Viator activities in the past until now. My friend and I booked this guided tour of the Alhambra. Awhile after booking, they contacted me stating that due to technical issues they had not secured our tickets for the Alhambra, but they expected to still be able to get them. We waited and they were able to confirm the tickets. We booked a train to and from Granada that day for the tour since we were staying in Sevilla. The day before the tour, they contacted me and stated that our 12:30 guided tour was cancelled, and the only options were to switch to 10 am or to get downgraded to just getting our tickets with an audio tour. We could not arrive early enough for 10 am, so our only option was to go on our own with an audio tour. They did not provide headsets for the audio tour. We had a link to listen on our phones, but due to poor cell reception in many parts of the Alhambra, the audio would not load for a section until later when we were already in another area if it loaded at all. The Alhambra was beautiful, but the audio tour experience was bad. I contacted them to ask about a refund for the price difference between the guided tour and the tickets with audio tour we were downgraded to. They claimed that there is no price difference between the two. Every tour I’ve seen in the past is always much less expensive to do the audio tour instead of guided. We paid $154 USD per person for the guided tour booking it over two weeks ahead. I checked their website and found Alhambra tickets with audio tour for 39 Euro per person when booking a couple of weeks ahead. On Viator the most expensive audio tour option I saw was 90 Euro per person but also includes tickets to the Nasrid Palaces which we did not get. I wish I originally booked this tour through another company, and I would not recommend them based on my poor experience.

Cancelled the tour less than 24 hours before. Gave us an audio link for a guide that was mid. They told us we could do a different tour at 10 but we had a train and couldn't make it.

Our guided tour of the Alhambra in Granada was an excellent experience. Our guide, Samantha, was very knowledgeable and kept the group engaged by asking questions throughout. She spoke through a transmitter and we listened via earpieces, which made it easy to follow along and felt a bit like an exciting school trip.
We walked approximately 4.5 kilometers and also visited the Nasrid Palaces, so be prepared for plenty of walking and stair climbing. I highly recommend this tour and experience.

The walk from the meeting point is not for the faint of heart. The view and gardens are beautiful, but the history was a bit boring.

The Alhambra is an amazing place and is visited by 1000s daily. Skip the queue is a must. Not only are you pre booked but having a guide and been able to skip the queues is much easier.

While the guide was very knowledgeable, two issues impacted the tour. First, there were 27 guests in our group. This was not a small group tour as advertised. It appeared that several guests were added last minute. That might not have been a problem except for the 2nd issue. The headsets and microphone used by the tour operator were absolute junk. No one could hear the guide as the system kept putting in and out, with a lot of static. Multiple equipment changes by the guide did nothing to resolve the issue and most of us ended up just turning the devices off. So we were reduced to trying to hear the guide in a very noisy environment with a large group. I missed most of the commentary.

Good quality guide ( Sandra ) Good format with a comfort break and occasions to look on your own.
English speaking Spanish guide spoke little too quick and personally found her difficult to understand due to accent.

Crazy guide lady, main palace was skipped, only details given were about soldier barracks. Wery poor preparation. Title is missleading, the main royal palace was skipped. Shame on you Viatour for booking with this tour opperator.

It was a very interesting and informative tour of 3 hours. Our guide Sandra was very knowledgeable and could address all our questions. Though the tour was pricey but we consider it worthwhile. Highly recommended. We were also sold a Fleminco show by the company which was quite average. I would recommend to do your own research and find a better less costly show.

Lots of walking up so wear good shoes. Some steep streets and uneven cobble stones. Give yourself time to get to meeting location.

I couldn't get a guided tour experience of Alhambra because I was late to the meeting point and there was no reply from the organizer either to my WhatsApp messages or phone calls. The day we planned this activity at 3pm was the day when we landed in Seville airport. The arrival was late and renting the car was a long process. Also, it was raining and the road was very busy. So, during our drive to Granada I've sent a WhatsApp message saying that we are coming directly to Alhambra with a delay of few minutes. But no one replied. In the Alhambra entrance we couldn't find any help and there was no reply to our regular or WhatsApp calls. On 3:30pm finally the WhatsApp message come, and we were happy expecting the interactive and fast response. Instead, we were asked to complete a document online to send us the tickets. We sent it, but they couldn't get it a request to fulfil the same document. At that time was almost 4pm, and we gave up of the chance to have our guided tour.

We were traveling to Granada from Seville and ran into travel problems. We were delayed arriving there. When we went to information at the Alhambra we were told to reach out to the guide and maybe meet up at the property to get our tickets. The response I got was to meet at the meeting spot and this was the only way to get the tickets, but the meeting time had passed. So for an expense for 3 people we paid over $210 to walk around the free parts- outside the structure. I am very disappointed that there was no other solution, realizing that we were late arriving. I have used Viator before on other trips but my family is not likely to use them again.

Sandra was personable and informative. She answered all questions and had a delightful personality. She added warmth and enthusiasm to her tour. My only note for improvement would be that when we entered buildings our listening devices cut out so we could not hear her unless we were very close. My request would be that she would save all commentary for when we are gathered as a group or at least repeat what she said while walking.

Although I’ve toured the Alhambra and Generalife before, it is always a treat to visit this historic and beautiful UNESCO site. Our tour guide was one of the best bringing a wealth of historic and cultural information with her interest in helping us learn while having fun. Maria is an exceptional tour guide. Don’t visit Granada without doing this tour! It’s fabulous!
