Historical site not to be missed!
We had three wonderful hours of enjoying one of the most amazing sites in the world. Get on your walking shoes and be ready to climb many many stairs to view the beauty of the buildings, the rose gardens in bloom right now in May 2026. The Alhambra is like going back in time to Another culture. The beauty of the architectural and the carvings which make it so, are beyond description. You just have to go there to see it for yourself. Our guide was so knowledgeable. You can tell they have to study for years so they can share so much history with us.

A Wonderful Day Exploring the Sierra Nevada Mountains
We had a wonderful experience on the Sierra Nevada mountain tour in Granada with Biutre as our guide! It was such a great way to spend the day and see the beautiful mountains and scenery outside the city. Biutre was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. He also took great care of us while navigating the narrow mountain roads, which made us feel very safe and comfortable throughout the trip. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Granada and wanting to experience the Sierra Nevada!

The tour was well paced...
The tour was well paced and informative without being overwhelming. Our small group made it easy to hear Andy, our guide, who was entertaining and who did a great job presenting the tour in both English and French without leaving anyone out. Clear instructions we're provided to get to the meeting location.

Great tour, even better guide!
We were in the 9am English premium small group tour w ten people. Our guide Juanjo was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and shared jokes and interesting history about La Alhambra and palaces and amazing generalife gardens. The process moving between sites and pace was perfect. Upon completion approximately 3 hours, you can choose to stay on your own. Note that you must keep your tickets they hand out at the beginning and have your ID as there are checkpoints between the 3 parts. It’s a huge complex but most of the walking is level once you’re up top. We took a taxi for about $6 from town but took the c32 bus back down for 1,60€. Very easy process. Recommend using the bus as the taxi line up top was long/long wait so we bailed and hopped on the little red bus which you can pay the driver w credit card as you board. The bus was not crowded at all.
Overall would highly recommend this experience. It’s a little pricey but it was well worth with as we got so much more out of it with a guide and didn’t have to wait in any lines despite it being busy. As we left around 1 it was getting even more crowded with school groups and big tours. Try to do morning if your schedule allows.

Wonderful and insightful experience!
We had an absolutely wonderful day in this amazing region in the mountains with our terrific guide Alfredo who was friendly, knowledgeable and tried hard to ensure the tour was enjoyable to all. (He thoughtfully addressed my special dietary restrictions throughout the tour which was greatly appreciated.) The tour featured some special sites and experiences that gave us a view into the everyday life of living in small, off-the-grid towns with friendly people, beautiful artisan work, and delicious food. We highly recommend this experience which was interesting, relaxed and fun. Thank you again, Alfredo! - Katie and Camye

Beautiful day in small mountain villages
This day trip to Alpujarra was incredibly well run. Gonzalo is an incredible tour guide and did a great job of bringing around a group of both English and Spanish speakers! We got lucky and had beautiful weather too and the views were amazing! The pace didn’t feel overly rushed… overall, I highly recommend this tour. Thank you again Gonzalo!

Jose was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and always making sure everyone was comfortable. He shared great insights about the area that really brought the experience to life.
Highly recommend this tour if you want an easy, informative, and enjoyable way to explore these beautiful towns!

Don’t pass this opportunity!
We booked this based on a blog post about what to do with 2 days in Granada. It was highly recommended. I booked it while on the train from Seville to Granada for our first night kind of last minute. I am so glad we did! My husband and I have seen numerous flamenco shows over the years and this ranked at the top. The atmosphere of the cave was very unique and a must while in Granada. These caves played an important role in local history. After reading reviews though I got concerned we may have booked a bad show. The reviews were so mixed. We decided to go with what the blog suggested when I booked which was the show with tapas meal. I really don’t understand the negative reviews. The staff were gracious and kind. They were busy but worked hard. The food was fine. It was not a bad meal at all. The salad was fantastic, the chicken in mushroom wine sauce was good, the fried eggplant was different but a traditional local recipe which was still enjoyed by both of us. The cod was very good. The flan for dessert was tasty. My husband had a beer and I had sangria. The ticket price included the show, 5 shared tapas and dessert, and one drink per person. We could not eat all the food! You will get ample amounts! Now for the show. Wow! The singer was fantastic and the guitarist very professional. The dancers were absolutely incredible. Two female and one male dancer the night we were there. Everyone was very talented and authentic. When the female dancer used the scarf for the rendition of flamenco that mimics bull fighting it was extraordinary! We booked the 8:00 show but showed up at 7:30. We were seated and able to eat right away. They actually suggest getting there early. We found the location with no problem. Thanks to another reviewer who posted a photo of the outside I recognized it immediately. It was a one hour show not to be missed!

Nerja Caves and Almunecar from Granada
The hosts, Micheal and Alessandra were incredibly pleasant, very knowledgeable and fun to be with. It was obvious they really enjoyed their work. They were extremely punctual and respectful. They took their time explaining important facts and history about each stop and were eager to answer any of our questions. The Nerja caves are spectacular and the towns of Almunecar and Nerja are very beautiful. It was a very full day but before we knew it, we were back in Granada. The whole trip exceeded our expectations! Thank you so much, Micheal and Alessandra!

Very satisfied, beautiful place!
Our Driver and Guide Gonzalo was very nice and well informed. He showed us around beautiful spots and his Restaurant recommendation was spot on. The tour inside the mosque also was good, just the reception of the Audioguides made it hard to understand Maria, our guide. But the Mosque/ Cathedral made it a once in a lifetime experience!

Well worth it
We took the Caminito del Rey day trip from Granada with Discovering Spain, and overall, it was a great experience. Communication with the tour agency was smooth, and we had no trouble locating the meeting point using Google Maps. Our group was small—just four people (2+2)—so we traveled comfortably in a sedan. Our driver, Manuel, was friendly and spoke English well. During the 1 hour and 45-minute ride, he provided an informative overview of Granada and the surrounding areas.
Upon arriving at the Caminito del Rey parking lot, we had a 20-minute walk to the actual entrance of the trail. Manuel took care of our tickets, made sure we were in the right line, and then departed. From that point, the official park guides took over. Each participant was given a helmet and a wireless receiver with a headset, ensuring we could hear the guide clearly throughout the hike.
The walk itself was relatively easy, following wooden and rock pathways along the mountainside. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking—no photo or video can truly capture it. The only real challenge was the heat. It’s essential to bring plenty of water, dress lightly, and wear comfortable sneakers.
One unexpected aspect was that after the official guided portion of the trail (which lasted around 2 to 2.5 hours), we were left at a point that required an additional 30-minute walk to reach the exit. Just beyond that point, there's a vending machine with cold water—don’t skip it! An ambulance is stationed near the exit for those affected by the heat, underscoring the importance of staying hydrated and protected.
Despite the heat and fatigue, the stunning views made it all worthwhile. Manuel met us at the exit and gave us time to rest at a shaded café area before driving us back to Granada. The entire trip took about 7.5 hours, with approximately 3 hours spent commuting and the rest at the park.
I highly recommend visiting Caminito del Rey, and Discovering Spain made the journey smooth and convenient.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Filled with medieval architecture and surrounded by the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Granada shines as the center of Spain’s Andalucia region. Unsurprisingly, the top Granada day trips involve adventures in the diverse landscape, whether 4WD safaris in the Sierra Nevada National Park or hiking the hanging bridges and canyons of Los Cahorros. If the weather is unpleasant, other Granada day trip options, including exploring Alhambra's history, Ronda’s spa town, and Cordoba’s mosques, are equally satisfying. Other easy Granada day trips like Playa Granada sunset walks and Flamenco shows in one of Granada’s cave restaurants won’t disappoint.
