Totally recommend a tour with Julien & Lokafy

Joseph_G, Oct 2026

Thus was our first tour with Lokafy (booked through Viator). Our guide, Julien provided an excellent tour of Funchal. We liked the fact that in advance we were able to share some of the things that interested us and he covered those areas. We spent three hours walking the city, parks, churches, and old town. It was perfect for us and you won't be disappointed if you do a tour with Julien. Also, since it is a private tour, when we wanted to stop somewhere or explore something that was important to us, we stopped with no pressure to keep moving. We liked that we could could customize the tour to our needs. Our tour was probably pretty standard, but when we wanted to deviate it was not a problem at all! Totally recommend!

Great intro to Funchal!

Sonia was fantastic! She is lovely. She personalized the experience and is a wealth of knowledge! We enjoyed exploring the beautiful city together.

Very interesting walk around this lovely city

Shelley_S, Oct 2025

Excellent tour with Sonia around the historic areas of Funchal. She was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the town and the people who shaped its history.

Time well spent

Allan_M, Oct 2024

Meeting up, having a wander round and chat with a lovely local chap. Some interesting local info and tips . Exactly what we wished for.

Very happy with experience. Tour guide (Antonio) pleasant and knowledgeable. Would book with Viator again.

2 hour walking tour through center town of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. We booked on-line a day or 2 prior. The guide walked slowly. Some steps to climb but not very steep ones. Mild to moderate exertion. The guide was knowledgeable of history and answered all our questions about daily life in Madeira. We were very pleased and would certainly recommend.

Great Introduction to Funchal

Our host Richard was outstanding. Great knowledge of the city and very personable. We highly recommend booking a tour through this service.

You can become a local in just a few hours

Christopher_N, May 2022

A really unique way to learn about a destination. You are matched to a local with great knowledge of somewhere they love and want to share that passion. Our guide took us on a wonderful walking tour that dig into side roads and places where a car or bus tour wouldn’t be able to reach. We learned a lot and very much want to come back to learn more.

Christelle was...

Franck_D, Sep 2026

Christelle was charming, but she was more of a companion than a guide. No information or commentary on the history, heritage, geography, fauna, or flora that she seems not to know. One expects something else from a guide! Very disappointing!
