Horrible experience

None. The guide never showed up. We waited for 30 mins and tried to contact him by phone and he did not pick up my phone. Please don't take this experience. We are yet to get a refund. The guide says that he doesn't know how to refund. Viator has not been much help till yet. The guides name is Ben Abdallah.

We had a great tour with Mohamed, learned a lot about Fés, visited many historical sites, little handcraft workshops. Everyone is very friendly and not pushy. Highly recommended to book a tour, as Google maps is not very helpful in the medina, and also you'll learn a lot about this beautiful city.

Mohammed is the best way to get around the narrow streets and without one would get lost for sure. We truly can recommend this tour as Mohammed knowledge about history, culture and sights is genuine and one of a person being raised in this marvel of a city. It was a pleasure to learn from Mr. Mohamed! His experience and knowledge is immediately apparent. He shared so much history about Fez and knows every nook and cranny in the Medina. He is patient and thorough with his explanations. It was fun to walk through the Medina with him …he seems to know every person! He brought us to shops where we learned about the art and artisans. He was helpful with negotiations so everyone could leave happy. Finally, he was helpful to us personally by getting an issue corrected. He receives our highest recommendation!

It was a great short trip in Fes Medina! The guide Mohammed is such an amicable yet collected, trustworthy man. He took me to many deep and local places you can’t find on guidebooks and showed me some “authentic” things which are rooted into the oldest town with profound knowledge of its history. And on top of that, he’s a great negotiator when it comes to shopping. It was so time efficient that 4hours was so sufficient and satisfactory, Highly recommended!

Mohammed was great!!! He was on time picking up our group from our Riad (he also returned us to the Riad). He was definitely needed in the maze of Fes! We would’ve been very lost! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about Fes. Everyone seemed to have known him and he gave off energy like the good, caring uncle to all. We felt safe with Mohammed. He was very calm, cool and collected and had a lot of patience. The walk covered a lot and I can say, Fes was a very interesting city (Medina area). The work ethics and day-to-day living was very interesting (strong human beings)!! Also, the tanneries did not smell as bad as some reviews stated. We all felt like we saw Fes just by walking because Mohammed covered a lot of the area. Ask for Mohammed, you will not be disappointed. Thanks, again!!!

This was the perfect tour! We got to see everything from the perspective of a local, had help negotiating at the leather store and came away with two perfect jackets, and were able to experience real street food (something we never could have done on our own). We highly recommend this tour!

Fes History + Shopping tour

Mohamed was a helpful guide and knowledgeable about the city. He met us directly at our riad and provided some history of the old city. While half our group thoroughly enjoyed the tour, as it was 75% spent shopping, the other half of our group had hoped there would be more history and culture involved during our 4 hour experience - but most of that was just breezed over as we quickly walked by. If you are looking for a tour that involves shopping with help to bargain, this is a tour I would highly recommend!

One of the best guided tours we have ever done. Mohamed took us to some of the interesting streets of Medina which we would have not explored on our own. He helped us in getting a closer look into each section of the medina and explained it's historical significance thus making this tour interesting at every step. We got a closer look in the daily life of people in Medina. He also helped us in buying traditional products made in Medina and then ending the tour with an amazing suggestion for an authentic Moroccan Lunch. We highly recommend taking this tour with him. It will definitely be one of the best experiences you'll ever have.

We had a great walking tour of Fes Market, our tour guide came to our hotel, we could chose to walk or take taxi to market. 100% if we did not have the tour at the market we would not have seen or learned everything we did. We had a good amount of history and shopping, super friendly and easy going we could pick what we were interested in to do, see and shop!

This was the first time visiting Morocco for my husband and I and we are so glad we decided to book a tour with Muhammad. It was like having an uncle show us around (he was so personably and treated us like family. He was also well known by many people throughout the Medina and we felt completely safe with him). We covered SO MUCH ground in the Medina, saw some really nice historical sites, learned a ton about the Moroccan culture; and did a bunch of shopping (be ready to bargain!). We initially booked the 4 hour tour only, but for a very reasonable additional (cheap) fee, we also toured outside of the Medina which I highly recommend adding this to your tour if you have time. It’s worth it! All in all, there’s absolutely no way we would have been able to get around the Medina without Muhammad!

Mohamed is THE man! He is a friendly and respectful tour guide who took us to see everything the old medina in Fes has to offer. This tour was very informative as Mohamed shared a lot of information about local history, culture, and traditions that enriched our experience. We felt like we had an experience only a true local could offer. Yes, part of the tour is also going into shops to see how the local products are made (textiles, metals, leather goods, argan oil, etc) and hearing from the shopkeepers. However, they do not push you to purchase anything and are all very respectful. Overall, I highly recommend this tour as it was the highlight of our trip to Fes. This is probably the most we have learned and seen in a single day during our entire trip to Morocco.

Wandering the Fes Medina

Mohammed met us at our Riad and took us on a tour through Fes Medina which showed us many interesting areas and brought us to see many artisans. We saw men who dyed fabrics, men who shaped cookware from copper & tin, women who wove rugs from wool, men who wove cloth from agave fiber, a leather tannery including dying and women who did embroidery He brought us through the Andalusian quarter to the river separating it from the KairoJanina quarter, several of the ‘Dar’ which were houses for caravans bringing goods to market and the wood museum showing examples of woodwork. He helped us with lunch and then brought us to a hammam which we had booked separately. It was a beautiful end to a great day.

He had a great knowledge of the history of Fès and explained everything to us in great detail. We discovered all that Fès had to offer with his help . Un'interessante esperienza del secolare artigianato di Fes, unico al mondo. Senza guida è facile perdersi tra i meandri della Medina e Mohamed conosceva ogni strada come le sue tasche e ha raccontato la storia della città. Purtroppo i commercianti poi sono un po' pesanti nel cercare di venderti i loro prodotti e questo potrebbe un po' essere fastidioso. Mi sarebbe piaciuto anche passare davanti al palazzo reale, ma credo che chiedendo sia possibile. A presto Mohamed!

Esperienza carina, giro interessante di 4 ore a piedi dentro Fes e la medina. Guida molto carina e preparata, ci ha spiegato tutto e fatto vedere cose abbastanza autentiche. Non ho apprezzato tantissimo che per 1/4 del tempo siamo stati in giro per negozi più che altro per alcuni negozianti che quando capivano che non avremmo comprato nulla si infastidivano un pò e commentavano qualcosa in arabo; però è in Marocco è quasi la prassi il giretto in negozi di souvenir amico della guida e inoltre la guida ci ha aiutati a trattare le cose comprate! Guida molto disponibile in generale, ci ha anche dato uno strappo in auto per arrivare al palazzo reale a fine tour.
