Operating Schedule: Explore the sights of Dublin on our Red Route Bus Tour. You can hop on and hop off the bus at up to 25 different stops. Stay on board to relax and see it all with entertaining digital commentary, or hop off to explore the landmarks and attractions that interest you most. Buses depart every 20 - 30 minutes. The first bus departs from Stop 1: 13 Upper O'Connell Street at 09:00 and the last bus departs at 17:30. - If you’ve purchased a 48-hr or 72-hr ticket, you can enjoy a 1-hr live-guided panoramic Night Tour, departing daily at 7:00pm from Stop 1 (13 Upper O’Connell Street), with a 2nd departure at 8:30pm between late March and early October. Please arrive early to ensure you secure a seat. Your ticket also includes a Yellow Umbrella Walking Tour, departing daily at 11:00 am from the SPIRE on O’Connell Street, lasting approx. 2hrs.
- The Wicklow Mountains & Dublin Highlights tour (included in the 72-hr ticket) departs from Big Bus Stop 1 (13 Upper O'Connell Street) at 9:45 am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure and present your ticket to a Big Bus team member.
- Download the Big Bus Tours app to access and activate your ticket, track buses in real time, and board easily using your mobile ticket.

Some of the drivers interact and some don't. The bus might be too full at times. If you download the app don't bother putting your booking info. The drivers never accepted my ticket on the app as proof of purchase. Only the printed ticket I received at the first stop. You can honestly just use public transportation with the Leap card.

Our hotel was walking distance to the bus stop or pick up point. Bus runs every few minutes so we did not have to wait long. Enjoyed the live tour guide. Used the bus to see the different sites and rode it from one end to the next.

There are two red double-decker buses. I thought there was just a red one and a green one. I unknowingly got on the wrong bus. The driver barely spoke English, he just argued with me when I was trying to figure out what stop to get off on. There happened to be a woman from the company on the bus, and she was the one who figured out I had gotten on the wrong bus. The stops are different. It was all humiliating, embarrassing and a struggle. If it wasn’t for the woman who helped I would probably still be there arguing with the bus driver.

It was a nice informative tour, it was so nice when the guide did the tour themselves but one driver/guide just played a prerecorded audio which wasn’t as good and it was played so low you couldn’t hear most of it.

The buses and tour are a great way to explore Dublin, especially if you have limited time. Most buses have live tour commentary from the drivers, which provides valuable insights into the city’s history and landmarks. You can make a stop to walk around an area and then get jump back on another bus to reach your next destination. This is also great for getting a sweeping view of the city and deciding where to disembark. Nice buses, well marked, and great guides/drivers. We loved it!

This is a great way to get an overview of the city and to zero in on spots to visit. We rode the entire route so we wouldn’t miss anything. Our driver was good but played a lot of music during the moments when he wasn’t narrating and that was a little annoying. Overall a good experience.

Really great informative tour, however, some of the headphone ports didn’t work though. Why not get wireless! Or have a tour guide. It was very expensive for what it was and especially for a family.

Due to protest over fuel prices we never got our tour. We contacted customer service to find out if trip was definitely cancelled but took over 2 hours to answer think reply could have been quicker to allow for other arrangements to be made

This is a great way to see the city on the first day. We took the bus learned a lot and loved being able to get off at the stops we wanted to see walk around the area and then get back on to go to the next one.

Buses were never on time, one driver told us we had 15 minutes before he departed, and we had time to get a coffee and proceeded to leave without us !
Spent more time waiting for a bus to arrive at a stop. Got to our destination quicker by walking.
This is a good time should you get on at stop #1 and stay on the bus for the full tour. Hop on and off is a waste of your precious time spent in Dublin.

If you haven’t been to the city of Dublin, I would recommend the Big Bus Hop on Hop off. We didn’t waste any time trying to figure out the city bus schedules. We just bought a one day pass. We grabbed the bus right outside of our hotel Stop One. Rode the bus around the whole city once, so we could get our bearings and then road around and hopped on and hopped off at the sites we wanted to see. Very easy to use, convenient. Most of the hotels carry the Big Bus maps. Ran on time! No issues, fair price for a great ride!

We enjoyed the big bus tour and recommend it as a way to become familiar with the city. As we were limited on time though, we didn't get off at any stops but rather rode the bus and listened to the driver's narration for the loop through the city (between 1.5-2 hrs long). The tracking of the bus on the app worked well.
