Our driver Adnan was lovely. A wealth of knowledge about all sorts of things. Was very accommodating as everyone wanted to do something different and put a bespoke itinerary together on the spot. So bit of sight seeing, bit of history, some great food and a couple of fun stops thrown in. Adnan was very discreet so helped us in queues and with tickets etc but left us to enjoy the experience as a family whilst always arranging a convenient spot to pick up. Car was comfortable and water was provided. Also had chargers for every type of phone!

I requested Adnan based on previous reviews and I'm sure glad I did. He was amazing, very knowledgeable, accommodating and overall nice guy. My daughter is pregnant and he was always looking out for her the whole day. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a private tour.

We had booked this tour for 7 adults, which was confirmed by the tour company a few days out. When the tour operator arrived, the van could only accommodate 6 adults. We were told that this was standard for 7 people, and they were happy for us to be travelling without seatbelts for the entire day. There is no way a vehicle designed for 6 passengers could accommodate 7 adults comfortably. Just a heads up to anyone booking this tour to triple check the vehicle provided can accommodate the number of passengers safely with seatbelts and comfortably enough for the full day.
The refund was issued in full and in a timely manner which we were appreciative of.

This was our first visit to Japan and we were really interested and curious about what it would be like. I can’t say enough great things about our driver David. From the time he picked us up to the time our day ended, he went above and beyond to make sure that our day was fun and action packed. From providing us with the history of the various sites to taking us to the absolutely fabulous fish market (we loved the sushi and the wagu beef) he answered all of our questions and provided valuable information to help us understand the culture and history of Japan. We had a great driver, Adnan and enjoyed the tour very much! He spoke English very well and gave us a lot of good information. He also took lots of pictures for us!
My only complaint was the size of the van for 6 adults. It was necessary for 3 people to sit in the back seat and the middle seat was very uncomfortable! Also, it was a bit difficult to climb in and out of the back with so many stops.

Our driver, Adnan, turned up promptly at our hotel as arranged. We had a very nice car. Adnan drove well throughout the trip and we felt very safe. Before starting our tour, Adnan spent time explaining the range of different attractions that we could visit and he was keen to ensure that we focussed on the sites that were of greatest interest to us. We told him that we were interested in the history of Tokyo. We enjoyed a very extensive trip that gave us exactly what we wanted. Throughout the tour Adnan supported us with his extensive knowledge of the historical and religious aspects of the city, and he answered our questions in full. At each site we visited Adnan accompanied us, and did a splendid job as photographer ensuring that we have a range of wonderful photos to remember our time in Tokyo. We found the trip to be good value for money - very safe and very thorough. Adnan was courteous, kind and helpful all day and he enabled us to see Tokyo as we had hoped. We had an excellent experience on the Tokyo Private Tour. Our driver/guide, Add, was outstanding and made the day truly special.
I had seen some reviews mentioning that the experience was more transportation-focused (which is what it is marketed as), but Add was so much more than just a driver, he was a knowledgeable guide who shared history, cultural context, local insights, and helpful Tokyo tips throughout the day. It made every stop feel more meaningful.
The itinerary was thoughtfully tailored to our group, helping us see the major highlights of Tokyo while also incorporating our personal interests. One of the most memorable touches was that Add noticed my WhatsApp profile photo with my Shiba Inu and surprised us by adding a few Shiba-related stops along the way. That level of thoughtfulness made the experience feel incredibly personal.
If you want a flexible, comfortable, and personalized way to explore Tokyo (especially if it’s your first visit) I highly recommend this tour. Add made it unforgettable.

Our guide David was really helpful and looked for several different places for us to visit, as we’d been on a Tokyo tour a couple of weeks earlier. It’s a shame it was so wet and miserable, but we enjoyed the Samurai Ninja museum, that David went to a lot of trouble to find, and the meal he suggested at lunch, Okonomiyaki, was a great treat for our last meal.

I had an absolutely fantastic private tour in Tokyo. The entire experience was seamless, personalized and incredibly enjoyable from start to finish. Ad was the best guide and partner for the day. Although labeled a "tour," this was really just a driver and private car. There was no tour. Viator should make this much clearer in the tour description. We had expected to receive an explanation of the city as we were driven around (ie. a "tour"), but our driver had very limited English skills, didn't offer unsolicited information and struggled to understand our questions. He was very sweet and we liked him, but we were disappointed that we didn't have a person who could explain what we were looking at, especially given our limited amount of time in Tokyo and significant expense to get there.

It was an amazing nine hour tour with Adnan as a fluent English speaking guide and safe driver. He made sure we had plenty of photos of all the sights we saw in Toyko for our memories. He was extremely knowledgeable of Japanese Culture. He planned our day very efficiently and was very kind to us giving us plenty of time to get to sight.

A great way to see the best sights of Tokyo city if time is limited or if you want to avoid long travel times on crowded metros. Sufiyan drove us around the city and gave us a flexible plan so that we could have adequate time for shopping or driving by iconic areas. He was an excellent driver, very knowledgeable and well versed with Tokyo roads, although he'd spent only a few years in Tokyo ! He was open to suggestions and treated us with courtesy and respect. All in all a very pleasant experience !!

When this is your first time in Tokyo and you don’t know where you are, a great first step is a private tour. Sean was our guide and speaks Mandarin, Japanese and English. His van is spacious, comfortable and very roomy.

Tour can be customized. Traveling as a family of 7 with a tour in Yokahama area (outside the normal area this travel company handles). We were given a price by the tour company and then later surprised by an extra charge. Our driver, David, was excellent, but the extra charge was a bit of a surprise. The van, ride, and knowledge of our driver was perfect, but for the money, we could have just taken Uber.
