We will drive to Pietrasanta... Pietrasanta is a town and comune on the coast of northern Tuscany in Italy, in the province of Lucca. Pietrasanta is part of Versilia, on the last foothills of the Apuan Alps. The town has Roman origins and part of the Roman wall still exists. The medieval town was founded in 1255 upon the pre-existing "Rocca di Sala" fortress of the Lombards by Luca Guiscardo da Pietrasanta, from whom it got its name. Pietrasanta was at its height a part of the Republic of Genoa (1316–1328). We will drive to Pisa, known in the world for its famous Leaning Tower ( it's not the only one!)... Truly a one of a kind...

Truly a one of a kind experience. The cave tour was amazing as you could see everything they do and you are surrounded by marble. Thomaso provided an informative and fun filled van ride. We loved our lunch at a small village restaurant. It was an amazing day.

Rafaelle was terrific! He shared local history throughout the drive and his knowledge of the region is exceptional. The informative cave marble technique was exceptional and as a bonus was a cool break from the heat. Our tour was beyond perfect, as Rafaelle even spent time taking us to Pietrasanta, explaining its continuing contribution to the art of sculpture today.
