I showed up late and the...
I showed up late and the instructor was so kind. It was raining and he understood the challenges a foreigner might have navigating a new city. The experience was fun and he also taught me a lot about the history of ninjas and samurai. I really had an amazing time.

Amazing Kimono Experience
This experience is truly unique in that you get to learn about kimono and find a beautiful already made kimono to alter/upcycle to fit perfectly. Our guide/tailor Akiko(Aki) was wonderful at explaining the different parts of the kimono, and what lines you are looking to showcase and why. She did an amazing job helping my husband and I pick and alter our clothing, which required adding a kimono panel for the skirt to make it fit a very western (plus) sized body. You get to be involved in the altering process by ironing the new seam together with sewing tape. This was an absolutely amazing experience that allowed me to have more understanding and experience of kimono culture while also getting a beautiful kimono to take home.
There are multiple different levels of kimono ornamentation depending on whether you want a special occasion one meant for temples or one for everyday. There are several types of obi available to try on and you can end up purchasing everything if you desire for an additional fee which I did. The fancy obi are incredibly intricate and gorgeous and Aki told us that they take at least half an hour to make the bow. This is also quite an interesting experience for men to get to dress up and add their name and family crest in kanji/katakana for an awesome personalized look.
This is a wonderful experience I highly recommend for anyone who has come to Japan for the first time, wants a kimono, and wants the chance to feel like a princess or samurai.

Don’t miss activity in Tokyo!!!
This was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Japan!!! Nao is a wonderful teacher and she helped our entire family make beautiful manga drawing that we will hang at home. What a fun way to spend an afternoon in Tokyo. We even bought two of Nao’s books! Do not miss this!!!

Great transport for a party of 9 with a lot of luggage
There were 9 of us (including a 2-year-old) returning from a 12 day cruise with a lot of luggage. The driver managed to get everything safely into the van and drove us from the cruise terminal to Narita airport without incident. I would definitely book again.

amazing time
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had an amazing experience at Chopsticks! The workshop was fun, interactive, and something truly unique to do while visiting Tokyo. The instructors were incredibly patient, kind, and made the entire process easy to follow, even for beginners.
Creating our own personalized chopsticks was such a special souvenir and one of the highlights of our trip. The attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel very welcome. We especially loved learning about the cultural significance behind the craftsmanship.
If you’re looking for a memorable, hands-on experience in Tokyo, I highly recommend this workshop for families, couples, and anyone wanting to take home something meaningful from Japan. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
If you’d like, I can also make it sound more personal by mentioning your family and your teenage boys enjoying the experience.

Simon is the best!!
If you like to drink than this is the tour for you! Simon was an absolute gem from start to finish and this tour wouldn’t have been nearly as great without someone as knowledgeable as him! He gave great recommendations for the sake, the food, and took care of everything so we just needed to show up and drink! Make sure to take that tumeric drink he offers you at the beginning because it for sure helped all of us!! Cannot sing enough praises for this tour and for Simon!!

The art of repairing broken ceramic wares with a golden lined design, the Kinstugi experience. Book in advance and learn under a local master craftsman. As a novice, it is fun and doable wherein with a little guidance and a bit of effort produces a memorable unique masterpiece of your own that you can take home as a special souvenir. Nothing beats that! A++ Must!!

Perfect blend of history, culture, hands-on experience
This was a wonderful and memorable experience - highly recommend. It was the perfect mix of history and hands-on experience. We learned so much and had a great time. We loved hearing about the clan history, the various weapons, dressing as a ninja, trying some skills out. The woman who owns the dojo (whose descended from a great samurai house) and the gentleman samurai and female scribe were great - so kind and knowledgeable.

Amazing Introduction to Akihabara!
We had a fantastic time on our Akihabara tour with Naoki. He was incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful (especially with our two kids, one of whom is autistic) and he really tailored the experience to their interests rather than doing a generic walk-through.
What stood out most was how much care he took with our food allergies. He gave us practical, realistic advice about eating in Japan and even made us handwritten allergy cards in Japanese, which was far beyond what we expected and will be very helpful for the rest of our time here.
He also helped us navigate the chaos of Akihabara (which is a lot) making it a fun experience - and giving us the tools we will need to come back later to finish our shopping - my son is also excited to try out the cat cafe he pointed out! Thank you, Naoki!
Highly recommend this tour, especially for families or anyone feeling a bit intimidated by Akihabara.

Best experience. MUST book with Max!
Max from Ninja Food Tours was INCREDIBLE! He is so passionate and knowledgeable about sake and also incredibly personable and entertaining. My husband and I had the best time learning about the history of sake and tasting a few of Max’s favorites. If you book this tour, youMUST request Max for a truly incredible and memorable experience.

Best cooking class!
This is the second cooking class we have taken on our current Japan trip and this one is the ONE! We learned so much and had fun at this class. The food was so good. Our friends did the first class with us and not this one and we are so sad they missed this experience. I can not recommend this class enough!

Loved!
Booked the night before and was easy and quick to find in Asakusa area. The host Hiya was very friendly and explained the history of matcha. We also learned how to spot high quality powder. We made it with traditional tools and then she helped us take a family photo. We got to enjoy traditional matcha with sweets which made for a great treat.
