Beautiful tour south of areas south Barcelona
Very informative, beautiful scenery, moved at a reasonable pace. Be prepared to do a bit of walking. Bring sun protection.

Get more from your visit
There is an itinerary but you can change it. We focused on the Roman sights. It is more interesting with a guide.

You get a better...
You get a better experience with a small tour group. Miquel was full of knowledge and extremely pleasant. He had a great personality as well. We learned a lot about this old city and enjoyed his recommendation for a great Italian restaurant in Sitges!

Amazing Tarragona and Sitges
Tarragona is Beautiful and rich in history. Sitges is a nice beach town where we enjoyed lunch and a stroll through town. Our tour guide Miquel was informative and helpful.

Tarragona Amphitheatre (Amfiteatre de Tarragona)
  • The amphitheater is outdoors with little shelter from the elements, so dress for the weather and bring a hat and sunblock in the summer.

  • Though there is some informative signage around the site, the downloadable audio guide (available at the ticket office) or a guided tour provides valuable insights to better understand the ruins.

  • The site is best photographed from the street level above, where you also can capture the sea in the background.

  • Kids get more free reign to explore here than in many other ancient amphitheaters in Europe, making this a family-friendly stop.

  • Those using wheelchairs and strollers can partially access the ruins, including the arena floor. Other areas only can be reached via steps.
