Who knew there was so much to see in Tarragona? Bernat was a knowledgable, professional and thoroughly personable guide!! He took us throughout the old city at a very comfortable pace. A highlight was a children's fair where kids were learning how to climb and make the human towers that are traditional at local celebrations.

The tour guide was exceptional and his knowledge off the area. Made arrangements for transportation to Tarragona and return to our cruise ship. An amazing amount of history in this area. I would recommend this walking tour off Tarragona, especially for those interested in history.

If you are somewhat worried about the price like I was when booking, DON’T be. This tour is absolutely incredible and is a comprehensive look at Tarragona’s history and landmarks. It simply doesn’t compare to a standard group tour where you have a dozen or so others along with you. Our guide was Bernard (sorry if I misspelled) and he was extremely knowledgeable about every site we went to. I could immediately tell that he enjoys what he does and has a genuine passion for history. My Fiancé and I took this tour on the first day of our honeymoon, and we saw literally everything we wanted to see and more, from a historical perspective. I think this tour would be especially good if you have limited time in Tarragona and want to get all of historical sites done in one day. Bernard was also kind enough to stop and take many pictures of my Fiancé and I along the way, which is and of itself is invaluable! Just make sure to bring walking shoes and plenty of water, you will be walking A LOT. 10/10 experience, I would recommend to anyone coming to Tarragona and interested in its history.

Fabulous guide and experience! Our guide was flexible as we missed the express train and arrived 30 min late. She did not cut our tour short (which we told her would be completely understandable)

Bernat was an energetic and extremely knowledgeable guide who answered every question and took us all over this amazing city. Tarragona was the literal gateway of the Roman world to what is now Spain. The ruins reminded me of a smaller Rome, except that Rome’s coliseum isn’t backed by the Mediterranean. Wow! There are also later sites of historical interest and a great waterfront where you can relax with a beer and good paella. We were lucky enough to be there during Holy Week and gazed in wonder at a magnificent procession that the whole town participated in that recreated the Passion of Christ. Unforgettable indeed!

My husband and I did the Tarragona tour with Bernat. He picked us up on time and took us directly to the Roman ruins and did an incredible job telling us the history and providing personal recommendations. We felt he really went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable tour and even helped us select some souvenirs for our families and made sure we had an opportunity for stops for refreshments. After the tour he made sure to send several texts with recommendations on restaurants and places to visit and they were so good! We would absolutely hire him again to do another tour if we are back in the area.

Thick wall and parliament inside the wall.Explaination of history of Tarragona and building of the wall with what happened after we’re well explained. The amphitheater and colosseum were worth seeing . The tour guide was very patient and gave us the best tour.

If you are interested in the ancient history of Tarragona with somebody knowledgeable, then, this is the right tour. Bernard (apologies if I have not spelt the name correctly) is a fantastic. My son (12 years’ old) also enjoyed the tour as he learnt a lot!

Our guide took us on a top (of the hill) down (under the circus) tour of Roman Tarragona. So much of Roman Tarragona remains it’s easy (with our guides help) to imagine how the citizens once lived.

And knowledge. He took us to a couple different sights and could not have been nicer. We were not rushed, and very patient while answering questions. All other tours and guides we have in the future will have a rough time comparing to these standards!
