Ohrid is a three hour drive south of Skopje, on a lake listed by UNESCO for both its cultural and its natural value. This day trip runs every Friday, leaves from the meeting spot at 08:30 and returns to Skopje in the evening. Amazing Day Trip to Kosovo – Made Exceptional by Andrea!

My day trip from Skopje to Kosovo was easily one of the highlights of my Balkan travels, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible tour guide, Andrea. From the moment the tour started, Andrea had a way of connecting with everyone in the group and making each person feel included. His knowledge of both North Macedonia and Kosovo was absolutely outstanding. Learning that he studied history came as no surprise because his passion for the subject was evident in every story, explanation, and detail he shared throughout the day. He brought the history, culture, and significance of each location to life in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. What impressed me most was how far Andrea went to ensure everyone had a great experience. I unfortunately forgot to exchange money before the trip, and he went out of his way to help me find a way to get cash in Kosovo. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made a huge difference to my day and showed how dedicated he is to taking care of his guests. The trip itself was incredibly well organized. The ride was smooth and comfortable, allowing us to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery along the way. Visiting the monastery was a truly humbling experience. The peaceful atmosphere and rich history made it one of the most memorable parts of the tour. The bear sanctuary was both heartbreaking and inspiring. Hearing about what many of these beautiful animals had endured was difficult, but it was wonderful to see the incredible work being done by the sanctuary to provide them with care, protection, and a better quality of life. I would 💯 recommend this day trip to anyone visiting Skopje. And if you're lucky enough to get Andrea as your guide, you're in for an even better experience. Since having him as a tour guide, I have honestly found that many other guides simply don't meet the incredibly high standard he set. Great tour. Great guide (Bona). Long day but still relaxing. Bona was very knowledgeable and friendly. The lake and churches are gorgeous. Definitely recommend the trout fillet for lunch. Our driver (Orce) got us through traffic that would have driven me crazy. Highly recommend.

Amazing trip

Great trip! They split us into smaller groups which was nice so we were able to hear the guide better and we all fit in a van instead of a big bus. The van was a bit old and tight but overall fine as we did not spend much time traveling. The cable cars were still closed so we just did a stop on the mountain overlooking the city where our guide talked about the city and the geography of Macedonia. He was super knowledgeable and easy to understand. We then went to a monastery and Etno Village where we had free time to explore, super interesting. Last stop was Matka Canyon, which was gorgeous. Highly recommend the boat ride, great views. Overall, amazing trip!

We had a wonderful day traveling from Skopje to Kosovo. We visited the capital city of Pristina, Kukës in Albania where we had a wonderful lunch with a gorgeous view, followed by Prizren in Kosovo. Our guide, Jordan is a very interesting person, we got to know him throughout the day, he’s a wealth of information about North Macedonia, Kosovo, history of former Yugoslavia. We felt like we spent the day with a friend!

This was a really great...

This was a really great experience. The ride was pleasant and our guide, Haris, was very good. Haris gave us a very informative history of the country and how it is integrated with surrounding cultures. The visit to the Monastery of Saint Panteleimon was beautiful, and great views of the city, then explored a wonderful recreated village. Visiting Matka canyon was really nice, including the boat tour of the lake and cave (additional €8.5). Again, Haris was a really great guide for the day and I highly recommend this tour. Great for the price too!

Our server Antonio was amazing and was so knowledgeable about the various wines we tried. The food was delcious and the restaurant catered to my various allergies. I liked the restaurant's atmosphere and the dinner didn't feel rushed. We took our time and the portions were great. Highly recommend.
