A+ Walking Tour
A+. Absolutely amazing walking tour. Our guide Scott was a wealth of knowledge about Japan and Japanese history. We didn't just see the sights we learned the background. There were lots of bathroom stops on the route and Scott knew where to get us some airconditioning breaks during the hot August day.

Delicious tour of Shinsekai
My wife and I had an amazing time on our food tour of Shinsekai! Our guide was Anna and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. She creates such a friendly atmosphere and is so knowledgeable. At the start of the tour we were meeting a bunch of strangers from all over the globe and by the end of the night we felt we just spent the night with close friends. All the food was was very, very, fresh and delicious and Anna had great recommendations and taught us all the way of the Shinsekai. We tried many things that we wouldn’t have otherwise have tried and learned of so much delicious food. This tour is well worth the money and we highly recommend the to anyone visiting Osaka!

Osaka Day with Ramen
Great overall tour of Osaka. Taka-San was great! We highly recommend him! Highlights include Osaka Castle, best ramen yet in Japan with view of Osaka Castle and two very cool temples - people’s temple and Tenryuzen Hizenji. These had great stories! Street food and markets were also highlights!

osaka’s personalized tour
we picked the 4 hour private tour. luis was our guide and he was on time, super friendly, and customized our tour based on our interests. it was very hot and luis provided us with ice creams and refreshments. he did a great job showing us the osaka areas we wanted to know about such as the best places for kobe beef, places to find deals on cameras and watches. luis gave us an insider perspective on osaka. we had a great time and bought a camera at a steal of a price!
i would highly recommend this tour and luis!

A special day out
Very good guide in Riku. All the venues are equally spectacular in their own individual way. Arishiyama and Inari definitely need the most time, and you could easily spend far too much time at each one, so consider your plan for the day carefully. We travelled from Osaka, so you need at least an hour each way to arrive and return.
We did plan to do this by train, but it would have been a lot of hard work and a lot of changes of trains, plus we'd not have had a guide to explain the history wherever we went. So the private tour was definitely the right call. If you want to see the highlights of Kyoto in a day, this is the way to do it. Mind you, you'd need another day here to see the city which we didn't have.
Altogether, it was a long and tiring day, but one I wouldn't have missed for the world and can highly recommend the trip and our driver Riku.

Something a little extra
I had a fantastic experience on this Kyoto tour. Amy was an outstanding guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome. She shared fascinating insights about Kyoto while keeping the tour fun and engaging. Amy also organised kimono hire and took photos throughout the day, which was a really thoughtful touch and made the experience even more memorable. This tour is the perfect introduction to Kyoto and gives you a wonderful taste of what the city has to offer. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto!

Fantastic tour with a great guide
The itinerary was well designed and covered many of the region’s iconic attractions, including Nara Park, Tōdai-ji Temple, Uji, and the breathtaking Fushimi Inari Shrine. The pace was excellent, with enough time to explore while still covering a lot in a single day.
Our guide, Scarlett, truly made the experience outstanding. She was funny, energetic, and incredibly organized. She constantly kept everyone informed through WhatsApp with clear reminders about meeting times and locations, making the day completely stress-free. She was also pleasantly “obsessive” about keeping the group on schedule, which ensured we made the most of every stop without feeling rushed.
Scarlett shared interesting historical and cultural insights throughout the tour, bringing each destination to life rather than simply pointing out landmarks. Her enthusiasm and professionalism kept the group engaged from start to finish.
The transportation was comfortable, everything ran smoothly, and the organization was excellent.I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Kyoto, Nara, and Uji in a single day. If you’re lucky enough to have Scarlett as your guide, you’re in for a fantastic experience.

Kevin was very...
Kevin was very knowledgeable and able to explain the history and culture really well. We took the metro from point to point. The tour was very organized. We got to see the highlights of the city which was great. Kevin also knew great places for photos and for shade. Only downside was walking in the heat but not much can be done about the weather. I would recommend fans and umbrellas if going in the summer.

Highly recommended
Extremely pleased with this tour. Amazing views of Amonohashidate and Ine village. Walking through the village built around beautifully carved bay felt like Interlaken of Japan. And our tour guide Rex was very helpful in explaining things to see, places to eat, rest which made a travel smooth even for first time solo travelers.

A fantastic journey into a truly scenic site of rural coastal Japan!
This wonderfully scenic journey into the rural west coast of Japan is highly recommended with its beautiful fishing villages, gentle beaches and dramatic lush green mountains. Boat and monorail tours are recommended options to fully explore this exciting experience! Jay, who was our tour guide, has a quirky sense of humour and is an excellent organizer, ensuring that we saw everything to schedule!

A definitely must when visiting osaka
Excellent tour. Our guide was excellent was funny and had insights on the area from the history to the customs. We were able to try many different snacks and drinks from Osaka. All the spots were hidden gems which is what we were hoping for. He even invited us to an additional spot that was not part of trip (additional cash cost on it end). The tour and food was everything we hoped for. I'd definitely recommend it.

Pros: Very memorable and...
Pros: Very memorable and informative tour, exploring areas of Osaka influenced by yakuza. Lots of fascinating history going through the low-income areas. Some dark stuff, but the tour still felt safe because it is Japan.
Neutral: I didn't realize we were going through an active red light district at the end! For some reason I thought it was a historic former site or something. Surreal looking part of town that is technically a restaurant district.
Cons: Although the tour guide was very talkative and friendly, they also had a lot of personal opinions thrown into the tour that could rub some people the wrong way.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Japan's second city, Osaka, is an exciting destination in its own right, and it provides a base for exploring beyond the city. Osaka day trips are often themed to suit a particular interest or niche activity, from food tours to exploring backstreets that you might not otherwise find. Tours beyond the city visit some of western Japan's most beautiful and iconic landmarks, including ancient temples and castles, traditional villages, and sites of spiritual significance. Whatever your reason for taking a day trip to or from Osaka, you'll find a suitable tour.
