In our small groups we will visit the original Icehotel, the oldest church in northernmost Sweden and we will meet the reindeer at Nutti Sami siida. Our Sami guide tells you more about the Icehotel, Kiruna's history and the Sami people, while you get to see some of the most visited attractions in Kiruna.

After we pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna, we will start to chase the northern lights that depends on each night according to the weather conditions. We can drive to Abisko, Kiruna’s boreal forest or wherever we can find clear sky to see Aurora Borealis. Lights of Vikings have a really high success rate in finding clear sky which is one of the most important criteria to see the Northern Lights. Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings. After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots. As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. We’ll end our day at the original Icehotel, the world’s first hotel made entirely of snow and ice. Every winter, artists from around the world create unique suites and sculptures — a true open-air art gallery that changes with every season. Embark on an thrilling adventure and drive a snowmobile through the stunning winter landscapes of Northern Sweden! You will gear up in warm overalls, gloves, snow boots and hats, to make sure that the freezing temperatures are just another part of your winter adventure. The tour will begin with some careful introduction, where we will teach you how to use the snowmobile. Accompanied by a guide, you will start with some practice laps around the frozen Altajärvi Lake, only to soon drive through snow-capped forests of the Swedish Lapland. If you choose to share a snowmobile with another person, you will now change the driver and continue back to Camp Alta as a passenger, taking a bit of a different path. From time to time you’ll be able to speed up a little and feel the thrill of the ride, as well as stop and play in the snow in the middle of the forest. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as reindeer and moose, as we may see them on the way!

On this northern lights tour, our Sami guide takes you close to Sweden's highest mountain to the small Sami village Nikkaluokta where you are welcomed home to our family to learn more about Sami culture, listen to stories and taste Sami food. Here you spend the night in local cozy cabins surrounded by mountains and valleys. The starry sky is never as clear as here in the mountains, so you have plenty of chances to spot the northern lights. The morning is spent on a nature walk with outdoor lunch together with your Sami guide. During a Snowdog Aurora Tour, our guides will try and take you to the quitest locations with less people, lending to a more unique and personal experience. You may also have the opportunity to meet some of our 70 Huskies if we decide that our base camp is the optimum location to view the Aurora Borealis. If we have a nice Aurora we will also take photographs and send you a link to our cloud drive approx 3 days later where you can download the images for free.
