Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings. After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots. As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. After the northern lights tour, we will drive you back to Kiruna.

On this northern lights tour, our Sami guide takes you close to Sweden's highest mountain to the small Sami village Nikkaluokta where you are welcomed home to our family to learn more about Sami culture, listen to stories and taste Sami food. Here you spend the night in local cozy cabins surrounded by mountains and valleys. We will give you an enjoyable evening with 3-course dinner, where we talk about the Sami culture, nature, and the Northern Lights, a visit and guiding in the Abisko area to see and experience the spectacular Aurora Borealis, or depending on weather, a chase for the Northern Lights on the way back to Kiruna. On the way to Abisko we will pass several weather zones which makes it possible to get a glimpse of aurora even when it is more or less cloudy weather. Accompanied by a guide, you will start with some practice laps around the frozen Altajärvi Lake, only to soon drive through snow-capped forests of the Swedish Lapland. If you choose to share a snowmobile with another person, you will now change the driver and continue back to Camp Alta as a passenger, taking a bit of a different path. From time to time you’ll be able to speed up a little and feel the thrill of the ride, as well as stop and play in the snow in the middle of the forest. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as reindeer and moose, as we may see them on the way!

During a Snowdog Aurora Tour, our guides will try and take you to the quitest locations with less people, lending to a more unique and personal experience. You may also have the opportunity to meet some of our 70 Huskies if we decide that our base camp is the optimum location to view the Aurora Borealis. If we have a nice Aurora we will also take photographs and send you a link to our cloud drive approx 3 days later where you can download the images for free. We will also have some Sami inspired sandwiches and some warm beverages for you to enjoy.
