A perfect private tour in Cairo

We had the most enjoyable day with Fady our guide and Magid our truly excellent driver. You absolutely need a skilled and experienced driver in Cairo. Fady took us to a spice merchant and an oils and perfume shop. The Egyptian men seem to favor the scent of papyrus., you can smell and recognize it everywhere. We explored the Khan el Khalil market which is a maze of shops and vendors selling all kinds of Egyptian treasures and trinkets. We needed traditional Egyptian clothing for our Egyptian night on the cruise. Fady helped us pick the right clothing and negotiate a fair deal with the shopkeeper. It was actually alot of fun. He took us to a restaurant he knew and we tried koshari, a dish everyone in the country knows and eats. We talked about the culture in Egypt, the educational system. Fady was currently studying for certification in Egyptology and a career in tourism. It was a great day, we highly recommend this private tour.

Great Airport Rep guide through immigration/customs & luggage claim, then to friendly, on-time driver in clean AC mini-bus, short walk to outdoor parking lot next door, so ensure you have rolling luggage. Good ride to hotel. Driver stopped at bridge overlooking the Nile for light picture taking. Airport representative was Subhi, driver Khalaf. Good communication through WhatsApp app by manager, Muhammad Khadira. Highly recommended, would pre-book GEM for airport transport again to avoid crazy taxi wait & haggling. Thank you, great job. 👍

This was an excellent tour to Alexandria so professional run, would highly recommend Emo Tours. Our driver, Waleed, was excellent pointing out things along the way, making a huge effort to talk to use using a phone translator. Our female guide, Cherie was also excellent she really knew all the relevant information about the sites. She organised us an upgraded lunch on the waterfront which was excellent. We booked a car ride and it was better than expected. Hesham Zyzo was our driver and he was so genuine, kind and knowledgeable. He was on time and never made us hurry or wait. We were glad to spent time with him. He was so kind he bought us food and water. He also chatted with us in a cafe. Whoever met him in his life is lucky :)

The tour of the Coptic neighborhood and Old Town was one of the most interesting parts of our visit to Cairo. Our guide Bisho was very knowledgeable and shared many stories about the history and culture of the area, which made the experience much more meaningful. Walking through the old streets and visiting the historic churches was truly special. The guide Bisho was friendly, patient, and made the tour feel very personal. We really enjoyed it.

As a family of four including two children we spent the day with Hassan (our amazing guide) and Sabry (our excellent driver) exploring Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis. Hassan was friendly and deeply knowledgeable about all the monuments and was happy to share that knowledge with us. He was happy to go at our pace and was great with the kids. Sabry drove us carefully and safely in his comfortable minibus. I couldn't recommend this tour highly enough, it was superb!

Great tour of Coptic Christian history in Cairo

Hazem was an excellent, friendly guide who taught me a great deal about Coptic history in Old Cairo. I learned about the Holy Family's stay in Egypt, and about other historical events in different Christian communities. I was given as much time as I needed to explore and to take photos, and I never felt rushed. The only thing we didn't see was the Synagogue Ben Ezra, which was advertised in the Itinerary section of the Viator page. However, it is not in the Overview section, so maybe there is a miscommunication between the tour compan(ies) and Viator. I honestly forgot about it until afterward, and I don't believe that my guide was aware, so I don't want to fault him for it. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! Thank you Hazem!

Perfect tour during a long layover!

What a great way to see Cairo during a layover! Landed at around 6 a.m., got our visa (NOTE: if you’re flying EgyptAir, they offered a free visa at the EgyptAir Transit Office, which is on the right as you make your way towards passport control, instead of paying one of the banks), then we went outside to meet our guide. The exit of the airport is chaos but we found our tour guide, Mahmoud Hoka, pretty quickly and we were on our way! Mahmoud and our driver, Amr, were fantastic. We headed straight to the pyramids, got some great pictures, had a camel ride, walked around and went to the Sphinx. We then went to a couple stores (no real pressure to buy anything, but we got some stuff), had lunch, then finished at the museum to see the King Tut exhibit). And then Amr got us back to the airport in time for our connecting flight. We can fully recommend this tour and our guide. Thanks for the unforgettable day!

Our driver was friendly and prompt. He also helped us locate my husband who landed in a different terminal than me. Note - there will be two “drivers” in the car for this one. There was a person driving and a second person coordinating with me and chatting us up during the drive. Make sure to tip both people.
