Top Byron Bay 4WD Tours

Learn to surf at Byron Bay on the world famous breaks. You may go to Byron, Lennox, or the Ballina area, depending on the conditions. Groups are small so you’ll receive lots of attention, feedback, and a guarantee that you’ll feel safe in the water. Boards used are soft, so you’ll catch lots of waves and have a great time in the process, which lasts about a half day.

Byron & Ballina 4WD Adventure Tour No other tour lets you take the wheel and truly feel the thrill of off‑road driving. Your adventure begins in Byron Bay before heading south to Ballina, where you’ll step into the driver’s seat. Cruise along the untouched sands of Airforce Beach and 10 Mile Beach, surf pristine waves, and enjoy a laid‑back beach BBQ surrounded by the raw beauty of Bunjalung National Park. After lunch, the journey turns inland to Gibberagee State Forest. Here, the terrain gets tougher—rutted tracks, creek crossings, and winding forest trails deliver a genuine 4WD challenge. You’ll return to Byron around 4 PM, with sand on your tyres, salt on your skin, and memories of a day spent exploring the region’s most spectacular hidden places.

Grab your friends and prepare for some fun on this afternoon brewery and distillery tour. You’ll be taken to two local breweries and a distillery (or vice versa) to learn how your favorite drinks are made and, of course, to have a taste. The tour starts at 2pm so will take you through to the early evening, when you can call it a night or continue the fun independently.

Spotting platypus, those charismatic native Australian mammals, can be tricky if you don't know where to look. Skip the guesswork on this guided tour from Byron Bay. Arriving just after dawn—the ideal time to see them—head for an area known for platypus and perhaps also spot a koala and lots of birds. After your walk, enjoy a locally sourced picnic breakfast. If you don't see a platypus, you can take a repeat tour at no additional cost.

There’s more to Byron Bay than its surf beaches and markets. With this tour, escape the typical tourist trail and discover little-known spots that locals love. Cool off with a swim and spot turtles at Killen Falls, then admire views of Lake Ainsworth and discover the unique healing properties of the Tea Tree lake. Finally, enjoy a guided bushwalk through Broken Head Nature Reserve and seek out hidden viewpoints, beaches, and cliff jumping sites.

Sample some of Byron Bay's finest beer and liquor without worrying about who is going to drive on this small-group brewery and distillery day tour. Either visit two breweries and two distilleries or three breweries and one distillery, depending on availability. You'll sample drinks at each, amounting to 15-20 drinks over the course of the day. A great tour to enjoy with your partner or friends.
