What a fun, wild experience. The fun was totally due to our amazing guide, Kya. The adventure was the torrential downpour and flash flood in Old Town Bilbao. The pintxos and wine in each stop was beyond amazing. Kya’s experience and knowledge of the area, the Basque region and culture was brilliant. Our little, diverse group was perfect for this experience. We don’t just highly recommend, we say DO IT!

Rioja wineries with Asier

Asier was an excellent tour guide, and a wine expert which was perfect for this tour of two Rioja wineries. My husband, adult son and I joined four others in a comfortable van driven by Asier. The tours and tastings were interesting and delicious, so much so we shipped a case of Rioja to our home and a case to friends in England. Lunch (lamb, potatoes, and tuna/salad) in the lovely town of Laguardia was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Conquer it!

The walk across the bridge up to the cathedral is definitely worth it. The walk to get started and the walk back to the parking lot pretty intense, more so than the walk up the steps!! All worth it to get the full experience! The rest of the tour was fabulous as well. The surfing town and beach are beautiful with a quick stop for pinchos and a drink. Guernica with all its history was amazing as well. All in all, a perfect Basque experience!! Forgot to mention Eduardo, our guide! Excellent walking encyclopedia! So much information and so excited to share his wealth of information! Extremely patient and understanding with a man that was on our group that was unable to do the walks which allowed the man’s caregiver to enjoy Dragonstone! A wonderful day!

Guided tour of Guggenheim - Comment re meeting point

Guided tour of the Guggenheim was sensational. However the Instructions for the meeting point should be clearer and more specific. Instead of simply stating the meeting point is at the entrance (there are several entrances), the instructions should tell people to meet the guide at the information desk inside the main entrance.

It's a lot of food and wine so come hungry! You will try some modern pintxos in addition to traditional ones. Have an open mind. Irene, our tour guide, was excellent. I love how she's local, a true Basque native, so passionate about and proud of the Basque country she clearly loves. Her energy is infectious.

Efficient Tour!

This was a great way to see "all the things". There were over 30 people on the tour, so asking questions wasn't possible along the trip, although there was time to ask on the bus ride back to Bilbao. The tour was listed as being in English, but it was actually in both Spanish and English, which the guide, Stefan, managed brilliantly. It just took longer to explain things twice. It was a very efficient day getting to see and generally learn, but not experience, about each place. It served our needs well with our limited time in the area. Finishing off the tour at a Txakoli winery was perfect, too!

Well structured, varied tour with an excellent guide (Aman) and driver (Andre). The commentary was useful with plenty of humour. The allocated times were appropriate to each stop, where places of interest were advised but you were given the freedom to do your own thing if preferred. Very pleased I chose this tour.

Amazing time and food!

Absolutely amazing food and experience. Josu was knowledgeable about the area- showed us some additional sites and made the night perfect. This was a great night, it is only a short experience, not a tour but a brilliant experience all the same. We had a wonderful host that wowed us with her knowledge and talent with wine and food. This consisted of some cheese and cured meats. It was not quantity here but quality, they were selected with 5 wines, 3 white and two red, all from the local area. The disappointing part was that there wasn’t enough people to witness how good this was. The wine were of high quality and we went through a journey which tested our senses, sight, taste and smell, we all gained knowledge of what made the wines so well balanced and structured. The other couple who came were equally pleased with the evening. All this took place in a private room at the back of the restaurant/bar so after we went into the bar and sat at a table, I ordered more wine accompanied with croquettes and a hummus dip that was so smooth and delicious. They had layered the top with various spices. It was a brilliant night and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great tour for quick French Basque Country sites

The guide Daniel, was great and very informative. He is multi lingual and spoke English and Spanish. His English was great. He was very nice and the bus was clean and comfortable. The driver was also great, smooth ride. You need to be in good physical shape and able to walk up and down hills and stairs to do this tour. The tour is advertised as 2 hours in two of the places, but it was less time, especially the last stop, which was only 50 minutes. The tour company should correct that information on the website. The places were absolutely beautiful and overall it was a great tour that I highly recommend if you want to see some quick sites of the French Basque Country. I recommend the tour company think about cutting one of the three stops and add more time to the other two stops so you have more time in each of the other places. Definitely recommend and the price was very reasonable. Thank you Daniel for a great experience!
