We had an incredible day touring San Sebastián and Getaria with Asier. This was easily the best guided tour we’ve ever taken. Although it was scheduled as a small group tour, it ended up being just the two of us, likely because the morning started out rainy. That made the experience even more personal. We’re in our 50s and had already spent weeks walking all over Spain, so we really appreciated traveling comfortably by van with only short walks at each stop. Asier was outstanding. His knowledge of Basque history, culture, traditions, and everyday life was amazing, and he happily answered every question we had. His English is nearly perfect, he’s incredibly well traveled, and he’s the kind of guide who makes every stop more meaningful. Even with the rain, he adjusted the day so everything worked out perfectly, and by the afternoon the sun was shining. He also took us to an excellent restaurant where he ordered a wonderful variety of pintxos for us to try, showed us a fantastic souvenir shop, and even taught us how to play jai alai. If you’re visiting the Basque Country, don’t hesitate to book this tour, and if you have the chance to tour with Asier, take it.
