Top Azores Traditional Wellness in 2026

Experience a magical night in Furnas, where adventure, relaxation, and Azorean tradition come together. Start by wandering around the peaceful Furnas Lake, beautifully nestled inside a volcanic caldera. After enjoying the tranquil scenery, delight in a full traditional Azorean meal at a local restaurant, with vegetarian options available. As night falls, immerse yourself in the warm thermal pools of Poça da Dona Beija, where the 37–39ºC (99–102ºF) iron-rich waters, soft lighting, and lush vegetation create a romantic and soothing atmosphere. Continue your journey through the volcanic landscape with a visit to the Caldeiras, where steaming vents and bubbling pools offer an impressive natural display. To end your evening, brew your own geothermal tea or coffee using Furnas’ natural hot springs and savor it with local biscuits—a truly unique and memorable Azorean experience.
