What are people saying about Azores

Cruising, with one day in port- take this excursion!
We booked a half-day quad ride tour (advertised as 3–4 hours) during our transatlantic cruise from New York to Barcelona, and it was hands down one of the best excursions we’ve ever done. I found it on Viator and chose it based on the strong reviews and beautiful photos—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. For cruise travelers, this is super convenient—only about a 15–20 minute cab ride from the cruise terminal. Uber worked perfectly for us, and we paid around $18 for a smooth, hassle-free ride. We actually arrived a bit early, but that wasn’t an issue at all. There was a shaded seating area where we could relax while the team prepped and cleaned the quads for the next group. Our group had over 20 people, and the excursion was led by Bruno, who did a fantastic job keeping everything organized and fun. The quads were in great condition—no technical issues whatsoever. The ride itself was incredible. It felt like we explored nearly the entire island, with breathtaking views throughout the journey. We’ve done quad tours before in places like Jamaica, but this one easily topped them all. My husband and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Truly an all-around amazing experience that we would highly recommend!

Exceptional Tour Guide (Mariano-sp?)
Marianno (may not be spelling his name correctly) was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and friendly! He took us all around the island including to the very tippy top, and gave us all the most pivotal historical facts about the island. Were informed too that there are 2 cows and 7 chickens respectively to every person living on the island! We had a wonderful 3 1/2 hours with him and, at our request, he left us at the city center and directed us to the best fresh burger place, Suplexio, for lunch. Best burger I’ve ever had in my 64 young years!! Good local IPA beer too!

A must book
A brilliant tour that I would recommend to anyone coming to Sao Miguel. We tasted some excellent food with history and culture weaved throughout. Ishaja was a fantastic host and guide bringing humour and fun to the tour. My highlight was eating at Roots, and eating Mackerel like an Azorian. It’s perfect if you like food and/or want to get a taste of Azorian food to start your trip.

Best East Sao Miguel Highlights
Great way to spend a day with some interesting highlights. Tea plantation was a good location for a glimpse of the countryside and a chance to grab authentic souvenirs. Furnas was absolutely worth the visit and the traditional lunch delicious. My favourite part was the Botanical Gardens and thermal pools. Recommend this tour, our guide was great!
