Interesting tour of a part of history.

This tour of the Papal palace in Avignon was very informative and interesting. The guide was excelleent and easily understood. She showed us a beautiful overlook of the river before the tour of the palace. This tour involves lots of walking and steps so reasonably good physical condition is needed.

An introduction to the local cuisine

The Taste of Avignon tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Avignon. Our guide took us to four different locations around the city, each offering a unique and delicious taste of the local food culture. We started with appetizers at the local market, where we sampled fresh regional specialties while learning about the history and traditions behind them. Next, we enjoyed a memorable lunch at a charming local café, featuring a wonderfully rich baked cheese dish that was both comforting and authentic. Our third stop was a long-established patisserie, where we indulged in exquisite desserts that showcased the craftsmanship and heritage of French pastry making. The tour concluded at a local honey and nougat shop, where we sampled outstanding artisanal products. Every stop offered something new and delicious, and the variety of experiences made the tour feel both immersive and well-paced. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the local food scene, which added tremendous value to the experience. My only minor criticism is that the tour included just one drink with lunch. Given the quality and generosity of the food offerings, it would have been nice if an additional beverage or tasting had been included along the way. Even so, this was a phenomenal experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Avignon through its food, history, and local culture.

For Van Gogh lovers, but discover amazing Arles,

Sylvia was a great guide, and gave us an overview of the history of where we were while she was driving to our destinations. Solid information on van Gogh, and it was so wonderful to stand in the spots where van Gogh actually painted his masterpieces. I do wish the tour was a little bit longer for more time at each stop. I went for van Gogh, but discovered the amazing Arles in the process. Wonderful medieval city.

The truffle-hunting...

The truffle-hunting experience at Les Pastras in November was absolutely fantastic: Johann and his crew did a wonderful job of explaining the cultivation of truffles, taking us out with the dogs to search for this "black gold", and serving delicious truffle hors d'oeuvre and champagne. This was probably our most memorable adventure while in Provence...highly recommended!!!

The guide is excellently narrated, with a warm voice and a perfect pace for exploring the city without rushing. I really enjoyed how the narration transports you to the time when Avignon was the center of papal power, yet it never feels heavy: everything is told in a very engaging and approachable way. In addition, the app’s map is super accurate, so I could easily follow the route and listen to each story right when I arrived at each spot.

The Pont du Gard, this famous Roman structure has been on my Wishlist for a long time. You don't have to be an Architect to appreciate the outstanding quality and design of this structure. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and charming. The small group tour made this very delightful. The wine tasting was great. Some of the best wine I ever tasted. Unfortunately, the shipping cost was very high. I would have loved to treat my friends to the best wine.

A lovely introduction to the wines from the Chateauneuf du Pape region, and a tour of the beautiful wine country as well. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative and really pulled together the group of disparate travelers. We especially liked the first tour of the Mireille vineyard where the owner explained the complex process of making great wine.
