Itinerary
Your morning or afternoon tour starts with pickup from your Avignon hotel by air-conditioned minivan. Enjoy the views on the about 1-hour drive to the Luberon Valley in the heart of Provence, then make the first stop of the day at the Abbey Notre-Dame of Sénanque. After a short visit to admire the Cistercian architecture, continue to hilltop Gordes, where you’ll have about 30 minutes to take in the views and explore the picturesque Provencal village.
Next, you’ll visit another Luberon village, Roussillon, which is known for its striking red ochre cliffs and contrasting buildings. Here, you’ll have an hour to stroll the streets and browse the shops at your own pace.
You’ll make one final stop to see the natural springs of Fontaine de Vaucluse before returning to Avignon, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
Next, you’ll visit another Luberon village, Roussillon, which is known for its striking red ochre cliffs and contrasting buildings. Here, you’ll have an hour to stroll the streets and browse the shops at your own pace.

This tour was wonderful! It was just the right amount of time and the right amount of stops. Kelsey was a wonderful tour guide. She took the time to speak with every person on the trip. She has a genuine interest in the area and had many interesting tidbits of information. At each stop, she gave recommended routes so we saw the highlights of each town.
It was a wonderful experience and Kelsey was a knowledgeable and gracious host.
We would recommend this to others when visiting Avignon.
The only complaint was lack of water provided on the tour.
The scenery and villages were beautiful and worth the trip. However, the tour was rushed from the onset when the tour guide, Anna announced she had to return in time for her afternoon wine tour.
She was impatient, complaining about waiting 50 seconds for a traffic light, screamed at another driver, and told me I was too slow handing her my camera for a photo. Her driving was also erratic, taking corners much too fast, braking hard, and overall driving too fast. Anyone with motion sickness would find the driving very difficult.
The speaker in the back was difficult to hear the tour guide due to static. However, she rarely engaged the guests in conversation so the speaker was not that important. Recommend the tour but ask for a different guide
This was the perfect tour for me!. My4th in the last 10 days and my guide was the best so far! An excellent trip at the perfect pace. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, spoke clearly with just the right amount of history and background on Provence.
She was very engaging, and I am sorry I can't remember her name. She deserves a mention - she was so lovely. Thank you for a most enjoyable half day trip!
This trip was why I came to France and it was everything I hope for. The three towns were beautiful and each so different. Out guide was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and made sure we knew what to see at each location.
We got to places we wanted to see. Tour guide Kelsey was very nice except several of us could not find the bathroom in two places! It was rushed. An extra hour or two would have made an excellent trip!

We joined the Luberon, Roussillon & Gordes Half-Day Tour from Avignon in June 2026. Our tour guide and driver is Anne from Time 4 Provence. We were groups of 4 people in a small van. Anne was nice, professional and knowledgeable to share various history at each stop. We had a wonderful time touring the beautiful towns and sufficient time for taking photos.
Globally ok, BUT I didn't appreciate that the tour was confirmed instead of the rain (landscapes were not visible) and Roussillon path was close! Not correct in my opinion.

I am sorry that the weather was not optimal on the day of your excursion. I confirm that we do not cancel tours because of the rain. All the local companies do the same. It had not rained in our region in months and most of us welcomed the rain after all the successive heatwaves we had this summer.
If there had been a risk to the safety of our clients, we would obviously reconsider this policy. On the day of your tour it had rained during the night and most of your tour was not impacted. The rain the previous night meant a lot of mist and the views of the villages of the Luberon were not the best but most of it lifted by 11am.
The Ochre path in Roussillon was indeed closed. But again, that was for safety reasons.

The tour guide was absolutely fabulous and I learnt so much! My group was also lovely and everyone was happy to take pictures for each other which was fab as a solo traveller.
We were incredibly lucky and got to see the last lavender field before they were harvested.
We also stopped in way more places than this has listed, which was a bonus! The sunflower field was beautiful. 🌻
My only criticism and reason for the 4 stars is that I was really excited to see Gordes and we only spent 20minutes there… If we had just a little more time it would have been 5 stars! I felt like I only saw one street and didn’t really have time to take it in. If anything, we could have taken 10 minutes from the first village (which we spent around 40 minutes in), so that we could have 30 minutes in Gordes, it would have been perfect.
I would recommend trying the lavender icecream!
The whole tour felt a bit rushed by the guide. She was informative and was trying to be friendly but she should not have made poor taste jokes to the American people in the tour. Her driving was very fast too and she rode the brakes.

We only have time 45-50 minutes for each stop plus the added lavendine stop.

Great way to spend half day outside of Avignon. Absolutelu beautiful villages! We had a wonderful guide with good info and fun stories.
I loved the places the tour went to, but I was not impressed with the tour guide. She seemed like she was rushed all the time. In my opinion, she did not engage well with those on the tour, and I could hardly hear her in the van as she told the stories of the regions we visited. I would still recommend the tour but hope the tour guide is more positively engaging.
The tour was good. Nothing exceptional, but Anne was kind and informative. I couldn’t hear some things with the one speaker in the car, and she didn’t hear my questions from the back, but we had a wonderful time touring the beautiful towns.
Our tour provided a half day of spectacular views of some of Provenance’s beautiful villages! Our guide was very knowledgeable of the region, friendly and made our tour, a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour to everyone visiting Avignon.
This was a really nice trip, and we balanced traveling as a group with alone time nicely in each town. We had plenty of freedom to shop, eat a snack or hike a little in each place. The guide was informative and let us know what things we could do in each area.
Alot of knowledge. Great learning experience. I wish Natalie would have done a few more short stops for pictures. Also it would have been nice to walk with the group at the villages, so we knew what we were seeing.
If you want a lovely trip but don’t have time for a full day, this tour will give you an opportunity to experience a bit of the Luberon. Every stop is a “aha moment “ and the guide provides excellent commentary as you wind your way through the beautiful countryside. Thank you so much Nathalie( our guide) you did a fantastic job!
Our guide was both warm and knowledgeable, able to relate history plus items relating to culture, geology, and culture.
