What are people saying about Auckland

A nice mix of good exercise and relaxing
Expedigo is the tour provider and they were great. They communicated well before pickup, during the trip, and after the trip. Our guide was nice and helpful. We had a nice, long walk to the beach and then took the boat back. So glad the boat option (separate fee) was available because not sure if we would have been able to walk back. The sceneries were just as spectacular as in photos.

Definitely worth the money and time
Bus driver Hannah was very knowledgeable about the area we were traveling through. She gave us some Maori history as well as movie history which made the journey seem shorter. Hobbiton itself was a great experience as was the lovely lunch provided. Overall excellent.

Windy adventure on the harbour
We had a great time with Pippa, Alec and Olivia. The crew was quite friendly and the sailing was top notch. It was a windy day and the boat keeled over and glided effortlessly through the harbour. I would not hesitate to recommend. A true sailing adventure!

An Auckland must do
With a couple of extra days in Auckland I had asked on FB for recommendations on what to do. A couple of contributors replied that this was an absolute "must do". We duly booked it for the afternoon of our arrival. With glorious sunny weather it seemed we were all set for a memorable afternoon. Unfortunately when we turned up we were advised that due to winds it would not go ahead. Clearly safety was of utmost importance so gold star for that. We were offered the opportunity to receive a refund or to rearrange. Staff at the desk went out of their way to assist us. We were lucky enough to be able to rearrange and for the sail to go ahead. And it was certainly a memorable one for our last day in Auckland
I think the yacht can take 30 passengers but i don't think there was a full contingent. The crew were friendly whilst at the same time being professional. Safety procedure were clearly explained to us. The crew explained the history of the yacht to us and engaged with us continually. There is an opportunity to actually help with crewing the yacht and it was certainly tempting to .join in. However we just took the opportunity to sit back and enjoy an exhilarating experience. It might not be the cheapest of experiences but we loved every minute and were so glad we did it.

Waitomo Glowworm caves
An excellent experience. Make sure you wear non slip shoes. Two fantastic tour guides. We learned so much and travelled with a friendly interesting group of people. It is a long day so perhaps not suited to very young children or people who might have difficulties walking over uneven surfaces in the dark. Seeing all the tiny glowworms lighting up the dark is just magical. Learning about their life cycle was really interesting and gave the tour perspective and meaning.

It makes for a long day,...
It makes for a long day, but all the stops were Well worth the time. Our driver, Wayne, navigated some crazy streets and awful traffic on the freeways, but that is two and from our appointment safely. We especially enjoyed the Maori cultural exhibition. Be sure to hike the thermal area and geyser! Fun stops to learn about the student skills programs in weaving, stonework, and wood carving.

Beautiful way to experience Coromandel in one day!
An amazing day trip with a nice and short hike to the Cathedral Cove (there seems to be an alternative way to go as well by paying $40 and taking a water taxi, but I definitely recommend the hike to take in Coromandel). The beach itself is beautiful with plenty of space and avenues to take pictures and take a dip.
The hot water beach on the other hand is okayish. Not bad but nothing super spectacular itself. However the trip is worth just the first half. Also our guide, Ari was absolutely amazing with tidbits of trivia and making the journey quite fun.

Te puia and poly spa
My sister and I had a great time with Matt as our guide. We decided to do te puia and the Polynesian spa and I would definitely recommend both! We started our day at te puia and learning about the culture and natural wonders of te puia and Rotorua. A truly wonderful experience with some great information. We ended our trip at the Polynesian spa and it’s was so relaxing! It’s not something I would ever choose to do personally but my sister really wanted to it and convinced me, and we both had a wonderful time. I would recommend bringing your own bathing suit and flip flops for the spa, both are available for purchase at the spa tho. Shampoo conditioner and lotion are all available at the spa for free use as well so don’t worry about bringing your toiletries. We decided to have lunch at the spa cafe and it was super tasty (get one of the fresh squeezed juices!) the spa has some great skin care to try out and purchase as well but I do think te puia had the better gift shop all around (one of the best that we’ve been to over the last few days if I’m being honest we did the majority of our souvenir shopping there) over all highly recommend and I would do it again in a heart beat.

Great day tour of Auckland
Danny drove around Auckland bay, stopping along the way for over views of the city, a visit to the glass arboretum, a walk around the War museum, a moderately easy short walk up Mt Eden crater, a lovely wine tasting at Soljan’s vineyard and lunch at River Head restaurant. All and more, as described in his Viator description. Wonderful day!

Great tour!
WOW! What a great experience! The entire tour ran so smoothly. We were picked up our location we chose from the list. Our guide, Hanoz, was great he was patient and knowledgeable. And he was a great driver as well. The group was always on time. Hobbiton was awesome!! There is some hilly walking there. The guides there so great as well. We stopped at the thermal springs and how gorgeous!! I'm so glad we did this tour. I would highly recommend the entire thing with Cheeky Kiwi.
The time between when we got to Hobbiton and when the tour started was about 30 minutes and that was the time to get a few Hobbiton pictures as well as visit the gift shop. It felt a little rushed. I understand why we did it that way though.
We did a very short stop, 10 minutes in the corregated steel town and an additional stop, 20 minutes, for ice cream. That was cool. It was perfect for what we needed as we only had 1 full day in New Zealand

What an adventure
The drive from Aukland to the Hobbiton Movie Set is about 2 and half hours. You will have an opportunity to buy Souvenirs at the beginning .. get them while you can because you don't come back to the souvenir shop.
You get back on the bus and drive to the Shire where you are guided by an expert employed by the Hobbiton Movie Set. Your tour is strictly timed as they are trying to put 2500 people through in a day and not have everyone tripping over each other or getting in each other's way. It is an absolutely amazing experience and as long as everyone is cooperative, it will go smoothly. Each group is about 46 people.
There's so much to see .. and there's a lot of hills. It is not for wheelchairs, not for anyone using a walker, or have mobility issues.

A good introduction to...
A good introduction to Auckland . Fun and located centrally giving you a view of the entire area. Tower also has adventurous activities like walking outside the building and hanging over the edge with safety harnesses and a 700 foot controlled jump to the bottom
