What are people saying about Antigua

Super fun!
Super fun way to spend an afternoon in Antigua! Spent the weekend in Antigua for my birthday with my fiancé — this was a great way to spend some time outside and explore a new part of Antigua that we hadn’t been to before. It was my first time ATVing and Stu was a great guide — clear instructions and I felt totally safe. We had a great time!

Amazing Pacaya Horseback Riding Experience with Guy
The Pacaya horseback riding tour was amazing and had beautiful views. Our guide, Guy, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience so much fun. The horses were well cared for, and we felt safe the entire time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Antigua

Volcano adventure
One of the coolest experiences of my life. I’m an avid hiker and been to 18,000+ feet a few times so the Altitude didn’t bother me as much. Guide was great, the beds were comfortable and the food was adequate. Please come prepared and know what you’re getting yourself into. Wear proper footwear and enjoy the journey.

Must-do if NOT hiking Acatenango!
I am physically active, and the hike was HARD. All uphill so remember to dress appropriately and wear the right sneakers. I passed so many people in fashion or running sneakers, you really should have at least hiking sneakers, if not hiking boots. Getting to the top is very rewarding, don’t cave into the people offering a ride on a horse (of course, unless you really need it). Kind of a bummer that the day I went it was very cloudy so we couldn’t see the peak of the volcano, but still really cool to be on the same terrain as an eruption.

Chocolate making
We had an amazing time at this chocolate making class in Antigua! The experience was both fun and educational, and we learned a lot about the history of chocolate and the process of making it from cacao beans.
What really made the class special was the instructor. They kept everyone engaged with their energy, humor, and enthusiasm, incorporating singing and dancing throughout the class. It created a fun, interactive atmosphere that made the experience memorable for everyone.
We left with a greater appreciation for chocolate and some great memories. I would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Antigua and looking for a unique and enjoyable activity!

Roberto was an absolutely...
Roberto was an absolutely wonderful driver from Guatemala City to Antigua. He was kind, professional, punctual, and made us feel comfortable from the moment he picked us up. He helped us with all of our bags, and his vehicle was very clean, well maintained, and safe.
During the drive, Roberto talked with us about Guatemala, explained what we were seeing along the way, and patiently answered all of our questions. His English is excellent, which made communication easy and enjoyable. We learned so much about the culture from him during our trip.
He also went above and beyond for us by stopping when we needed a bathroom break and happily pulling over at a little roadside ice cream truck when we asked to stop for ice cream. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants in Antigua and shared helpful safety advice about both Antigua and Guatemala City.
Even in heavy traffic, Roberto stayed calm, patient, and drove very safely. By the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than just a driver. We have stayed in touch, and we are so grateful we had him for this experience. We highly recommend Roberto to anyone traveling in Guatemala!

The Absolute Highlight of My Trip — Don’t Skip This
This was hands down the best experience of my entire trip to Guatemala. Our tour guide went above and beyond, taking us out of the typical tourist circuit and into her own neighborhood, and a few others, where we got to enjoy truly authentic street cuisine. This wasn’t a curated, watered-down version of local food. This was the real thing.
What surprised me most was how much I learned along the way. Our guide was so knowledgeable and engaging that I walked away with more history and cultural insight than I did from a dedicated walking tour of Antigua. She clearly has a deep love for her city and it showed in every stop we made.
And the food? That’s what I’ll be talking about for months. Every bite was memorable and I’m so glad I said yes to trying everything.
My only regret is not having enough time to book a cooking class with this company — because if this tour is any indication, everything they offer is top tier. You can just tell they genuinely care about the experience they’re creating for visitors.
Do not pass this up. Go hungry, stay curious, and try every single thing they put in front of you.

Amazing tour!!!
We had an amazing experience hiking Acatenango with CA Travelers! Everything was very well organized from start to finish. Marvin, along with all of the local guides and porters, were incredibly helpful throughout the entire hike — always providing clear instructions, support, and making sure we had everything we needed along the way.
The food provided was great, and the housing accommodations were phenomenal — it honestly felt like glamping while being surrounded by incredible volcano views. The setup made the experience much more comfortable and enjoyable after a long hike.
They had sold out of the backpacks we needed to rent, but they quickly helped us find a rental shop in town that was easy to get to and pickup from, which we really appreciated. I also really appreciated learning that the money paid to the porters goes directly toward supporting them, their families, and the local communities. It made the experience feel even more meaningful knowing tourism is helping provide opportunities locally.
Overall, everything went very smoothly, and seeing an active volcano up close was truly the experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend CA Travelers for anyone planning this hike in Guatemala!

Amazing tour, well worth the money
Amazing tour, amazing guide. Experience was excellent. Felt safe at all times under the excellent care of Lester and Julio. They were able to make the trip memorable whether you had ever driven an ATV or not. Would recommend this for anyone, including families. I look forward to more tours when I return to Antigua.

10/10 experience cooking...
10/10 experience cooking on the rooftop with other people from around the world. The hosts of the tour were all very nice and made it so enjoyable. I love that they provided red wine and we had lots of tasty apps before the main course. Everything was delicious.

Must see place!
Must-see place! The tour operators allowed us to spend most of the time in the last village, Santiago Atitlán, where we stayed for about 2 hours. However, in San Juan La Laguna and San Pedro La Laguna, we only had around 25–30 minutes in each village.
In my opinion, the first two villages were the most beautiful, with amazing artistic wall paintings. We didn’t have enough time to fully explore San Juan and San Pedro La Laguna. I would definitely recommend allocating more time to these two villages.

One of the craziest things I have seen in my life
The hike to base camp is hard but totally worth it. Once we got to the base camp, the view was blocked by clouds but weather changes so fast and could see and hear the volcano. It is so impressive! The hike to Fuego is even harder and you will come back at night, but what an experience! It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I didn’t go to the summit in the morning because I was too tired.
The service itself was incredible. Axel, Leo, Lily and 2 other local guides were very careful, kind and professional. Such a good team. We felt safe and cared for at all times. They cooked for us and organized everything so well.
Definitely take the free gear they have to climb and rent hiking sticks.
Oh, and loooots of dogs to pet on the way 😍
Muchas gracias, it will stick with me my whole life.

Antigua, Guatemala, tours run the gamut. To get your adrenaline pumping, opt for an overnight sunrise summit hike of the Acatenango Volcano to safely view the adjacent—and still highly active—Volcán de Fuego. Not an early riser? Buckle your helmet strap and explore the countryside and its mountain villages via ATV sunset tour. For something more laid-back, take a day tour of Lake Atitlán, join a cooking class and market tour, or learn about the locally-produced chocolate and coffee. Whether adventure-driven or culture-centric, each Antigua tour will give you something to talk about.
