Itinerary
Meet and greet the local tour guide and the rest of the small group near the Village by the Grange in downtown Toronto. There will be a brief introduction to Toronto before beginning the half-day ride around Toronto’s eastern islands.
The tour begins with a brief ferry ride across the Inner Harbour to the eastern Toronto Islands, where bicycles are preferred in this, the largest car-free community in North America.
See historic landmarks like the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, the oldest existing lighthouse on the Great Lakes and one of Toronto's oldest buildings, and the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, one of the world’s oldest and largest yacht clubs. Then stop for a snack and admire Toronto’s waterfront parks and beaches, as well as a breathtaking panoramic view of the city skyline.
Throughout the tour, the guide will provide information about the history of the islands over the past 200 years as well as its role as a residential community, recreation spot, transportation hub, scenic retreat — even a sporting facility. The tour ends back near the Village by the Grange.

Fantastic 1st Day Tour! Best decision to take this tour - Ryan was our brilliant guide, really welcoming and looked after us so warmly for the whole ride. We learned so much on the harbour and island morning tour. - it was a brilliant way to orientate ourselves on Day 1 of our short break in Toronto. The bicycles were in fantastic condition and a comfy ride. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. The heavens opened on us but Ryan was prepared with waterproofs for all and snack bars. He didn’t skip a beat when we needed to divert for a brief coffee stop to deal with the jet lag from having arrived a few hours previously from the UK. Thanks Ryan, appreciated all of your good humour, professionalism and informative ride :-)

Marianna, our tour guide, was super friendly & personable. We only had 5 in our group, so that was awesome. She offered to take photos of us and was very knowledgable about The Toronto Islands!
Our experience was a delightful outdoor activity viewing the many beautiful scenic aspects of the Toronto Islands. We were also treated to a history of the Islands. All with a most wonderful guide…..MaryAnna.
The experience was also incredibly professional and friendly. The bicycles were comfortable, easy to use and well maintained. Safety and comfort were obviously a priority.
We would absolutely book another tour with this company should we return.
Bryan was friendly and had great anecdotes about Toronto. The ride around the island was beautiful and scenic. Unexpected: The excursion starts in the City (not on a minibus to the dock). and the guests ride through the City center in the bike lanes. For people not used to riding a bike, this was a bit scary. Of the 5 guests, 3 plus the tour guide had their chains fall off, 3 fell ( my partner twice) and so did guide! (no injuries),
Make clear to guide: ask if guests want to walk their bike up steep hills. Guests stopping suddenly on hills cause some near collision situations.
Two weeks in Canada, and this guided tour was the highlight of the vacation among many great experiences!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Ryan, our guide, was super friendly and relaxed and explained the history of the island. The cycling was very easy, with the hardest hill climb being the exit ramp from the car park. The views of the city were great and it was nice to go somewhere so quiet and relaxed.
It is worth noting that the joining point is inside the underground car park, as we walked past the sign a couple of times.
This is a great tour. Relaxing views of a beautiful area. The bikes were brill, the guide was a great guy full of knowledge.
Definitely recommend.👍
This was an amazing experience!! You just need to bring yourself and a sense of adventure! Our wonderful tour guide provided the rest! I'm not someone who bikes a lot at all! But I was able to do this adventure with no issues. Tons of fun!!
Awesome experience and tour! Guide, Ryan, is excellent, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Had our bikes ready, he was very organized, covered safety issues efficiently, had us try our bikes before we left, adjusted them for us as needed. Managed us safely riding on Toronto streets, on the ferry and on the islands. Good historian and we enjoyed learning. Did great job of not keeping us in the saddle too long. Had us stop and get off to enjoy the views. Offered to take pics and so patient about it. Took his own of all of us, candids and posed then sent to us, ty! Carried water and snacks for us. Loved seeing Toronto and the islands like this. Highly recommend and would do it again!
This bike ride with Jorge was a wonderful way to experience the Toronto Islands. I am glad we went in the morning because we saw the crowd waiting to board the ferry when we returned to the mainland. Jorge was a great guide. He created a relaxed environment but you always knew he was keeping an eye on safety and our well being. He made learning about the islands fun!
This was just right for less experienced bike riders. Mariana and Mariana ensured we all made it safely.
Fun and informative ride around the islands. Brian made the whole morning feel relaxed and enjoyable. The bike route was smooth, all on flat roads and bike lanes, making it an easy and comfortable ride.
We met Clara on a floor of the parking garage to start the tour. One thing to mention here is that there are signs to walk down the garage, but there’s not really a walkway - a little unnerving at first being from the states where people don’t really look for pedestrians, but was actually pretty safe. There is another way down thru the nearby mall via elevator as an alternate route as well. After a brief overview, we cycled down to the harbor for the ferry ride - I would say that’s probably the hardest part of the ride if you’re not used to cycling because it’s pretty steep getting out of the garage. Even though some had to get off and walk, Clara waited patiently. Navigating the streets was straightforward and felt safe as well. There was an opportunity to use the restroom both before and after the ferry ride which was maybe 15 min or so long? When we landed on the islands, she began our tour, giving us great background information about the island, stopping at interesting sites, and taking great pictures along the way. She provided snacks and water so it was quite a leisurely ride. Overall it was a great way to see a part of Toronto outside of the normal cityscape!
This ride was fun, scenic and interesting. Our guide Bryan was a good leader and very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the islands. Beautiful scenery too. Our family really enjoyed it!
We loved this experience. The islands were beautiful, the biking was easy, and our guide Sydney did a great job keeping us safe and telling us lots of interesting history about Toronto and the islands.
This tour was excellent! Guide Sydney is knowledgeable and explained the history and back stories of Toronto and the islands super well! Importantly, the bike trip is quite straightforward, safe, and engaging. The ride to and on the Islands was incredible. We were able to see great views of the City and of the island nature as well as history. Highly recommended!
Ryan was an excellent tour guide! Super friendly and so knowledgable about the history of the islands and Toronto in general. He even helped us plan the rest of our day in the city, complete with street car routes. Bikes were really nice, and the terrain was pretty flat. Washrooms were available along the route. It was cooler on the island, so dress in layers. Overall, great experience. Would definitely recommend!
It was a great way to spend our wedding anniversary, the other couple we were with were from England and they were fun, also seeing the locals, taking the ferry, great tour guide and a peaceful bike ride
This was an amazing experience and highly recommend if you have a morning or afternoon free while in Toronto. We are retired and the amount of biking was just right for us(not regular bike riders). The tour of the island, spectacular views of the skyline, and ferry ride over just perfect! Our guide Oscar took good care of us and was very knowledgeable of local history and the island.
Great morning with Sydney, she covered everything really well, we felt very safe under her guidance and enjoyed the informative commentary.
A bit hard to find but great otherwise. They should have had a staff member at entrance of the garage where you pick up the bikes otherwise staff excellent
Awesome experience.. Consuelo was a great tour guide. Very nice bikes. The island is beautiful. 100% fun and enlightening
Easy bike ride giving a different view of the city as you cross over to islands by ferry. Learned a lot of history and the tour was about right in length.
The bikes and guides are great..Safe and you will see and get some Fantastic pictures. The Island is very different than downtown life.
Our guide, Oscar, made the day so much fun! He shared the history and answered all of our many questions.
We had a truly amazing time with Jenny. We were a 3 generation group with 7 people between ages 2 and 68. Jenny was so kind, funny and patient with our kids (all three of them, aged 8, 5, and 2.) it can be hard to find fun activities to do with such young kids and this was a huge huge win for our trip! All three generations loved it!
Great tour. It was leisurely and informative. Guides Jenny and Tracie were great! Excellent views of Toronto.
Jenny was a great guide! She has a wealth of knowledge about Toronto and the Islands and loves sharing her town via bikes!
The Toronto Islands Bike Tour was a great experience. Not only did we see part of Toronto by bike, we were able to go to the Toronto Islands and learn about the rich history of the area. It was a small tour with a very animated tour guide, Ryan, who we really enjoyed.
Great experience all around, Sidney was a great tour guide, got us where we needed to go and kept us all safe ,she took pictures and told us alot of imformation we have never known about toronto and the Islands.A nice drive through the city to the ferry, and across to the Islands was very nice , The views from the Islands are amazing, and such a unique place with lots of History. Sidney was amazing, on our trip she had to fix 2 chains that came off of one riders bike, and replaced a tire tube on one of the riders bikes after he got a puncture in his tire. She impreseed me with her mechanical skills, fixed the issues quickly and didnt let the issues effect the tour at all. We did 15kms and the Tour was well worth the money. Thanks to the Company and Sidney for a great experience.
