Come hungry! There are 5 stops; 3 appetizers, a main course, and a dessert. We enjoyed learning about this area of Milan. Navigli has canals and is a vibrant area. The food and wine pairing were very nice. Our guide, Cecelia, was very knowledgeable and shared the history of the neighborhood. We would definitely recommend this tour

I was not impressed. I have taken other food and walking tours throughout Italy and Europe. The foods were not specific to Milan or even Lombardia. The first stop was a Napolitano fried pizza. The wines were not from Lombardia and were not even Italian grapes. We were served Sauvingnon Blanc and Cabernet at two different restaurants. I had hoped to learn more about the Navigli district but we were only walked through a very touristy area with people outside every restaurant trying to get you to come inside. Very disappointing experience.

We would like to respectfully clarify a few points regarding the selection of tastings. Our aim is to showcase Milan not only through strictly traditional Milanese dishes, but also through the wider culinary landscape that has shaped the city over time. Milan has long been a true melting pot, and this is reflected in its food culture. For example, the Neapolitan fried pizza you mentioned is served at a well known local stop, Sciué, which is very much part of Milan's contemporary food scene and appreciated by locals as well.
Similarly, several of the products featured on the tour are deeply rooted in the region and northern Italy more broadly. Grana Padano, the beatiful parmesan cheese that topped your fried montanarina, is a staple of the Po Valley, the beer served comes from one of the oldest breweries in Lombardy, and other tastings such as polenta, carpaccio di Fassona, and risotto with ossobuco represent the culinary identity of northern Italy, with the latter being a true Milanese classic. The wines selected for the pairing are also from Northern Italian vineyards, including expressions from Veneto and Friuli, chosen to complement the dishes throughout the experience. The Sauvignon Blanc offered was an optional white selection rather than the core pairing of the tour.
Regarding the Navigli district, we are sorry to hear that you found it too touristy. While parts of the area are lively and popular, our intention is to guide guests through both its well known streets and its quieter and often undiscovered corners, sharing the history of the ancient canal system and highlighting smaller, locally run venues that are beloved local meeting points

Tour in Milan, Navigli neighborhood was fantastic. Largely to our guide, Sicilia and also the authentic food/restaurants and ambiance.
You won’t leave hungry, rather full and happy. Authentic stops at places you’d never find yourself. Best tour ti take in any new country!

This tour is fun for sure. Jessica, our guide, shared some really great stories and kept us engaged. By walking in between the stops, we never got too full to enjoy everything that we ate. Plus, the neighborhood tour led us to some beautiful stops.

Tour Guide: MC was great! Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our group was approximately 10 people mostly from Canada and the U.S. I will say this while MC did given an overview of what we would taste and eat at every place I wish before we actually ate and drank that she explained exactly what we were eating and drinking labeling things for example, the first stop was a fried pizza thing and a beer, but we weren’t informed as to exactly the beer was. I went over later and asked the server or bartender what it was—the second stop was polenta and Gorgonzola with some meats and wine— I would have liked to have known what wine I was drinking exactly…so I think it would be helpful if before we all started eating and drinking to say this is X and this is Y.
Food and drink: I’d say 7.5-8 overall. It was good—not great. I enjoyed it, but I wasn’t blown away, but maybe that’s not the point. The wine pour at the second stop was pathetic actually like 2 ounces I mean come on, I ended up buying another glass. The best thing I ate on the tour was the focaccia that was a 10 out of 10.
Overall, I think it’s a good value. MC did a great job moving the group along and giving little historical tidbits about Navigli— I personally would’ve paid more for some more food and more beverages on the trip. I did an experience in Rome where it was a food tour and unlimited wine and beer offerings at each stop and I think that’s more my kind of tour, but that wasn’t really available in Milan on any site that I looked at.

Claire was great as a guide. We visited five places and the food was excellent. The only problem was that I left hungry as the portion sizes were extremely small. After paying $127, I expected to be full and not have to go grab a pizza and desert immediately after.
