The Green Tour in Cappadocia was one of those experiences where I expected to see some beautiful places and learn a little history…
…and then a cave got me. 😂
Not because I was afraid of it.
Actually, the cave ended up being my favorite part.
There was something about walking through those underground passages and noticing the uneven flooring that stopped me in my tracks.
Those weren’t simply imperfections in the stone.
They were the result of people who had walked there before me.
People had traveled those same paths so many times that their footsteps had literally changed the ground beneath them.
And suddenly I wasn’t just looking at history.
I was walking in it.
There was something incredibly humbling about realizing that my feet were touching the same earth that countless people had walked across hundreds, even thousands, of years ago.
It made me think about how we all leave something behind simply by walking our path.
Sometimes we don’t realize we’re making an impression.
We just keep moving.
One step.
Then another.
And eventually, someone else comes along and walks the path we helped create.
Yep.
The cave got me. 😂❤️
And that’s one of the things I’m learning to love about traveling—not just seeing beautiful places, but allowing them to make me think about something bigger than the place itself.

The best part about the tour was understanding city. Gerome panorama was 10min stop, followed by onyx/jewelry shop with another few minutes to overview the pigeon valley. Then we stop by the lake for 5-10 minutes following by lunch. We set outside, tables were covered with ants, some of us had burned food and salad that did not look fresh. Bathroom had no paper. Overall, looked like rundown place. After we stop in Virgin Mary church for another 10-15 minutes. Our longest stop that was not listed on itinerary is the overpriced shop that sells saffron, oils, perfume, nuts, lokum, souvenirs even luggage. After hearing a sales pitch, the salespeople vultures with the ration one per couple jump and would follow you around, get in your face forcing you to buy something. It was very unpleasant experience. Without making those 2 sales shop the trip could have been 2 hours shorter. Our guide, even though very knowledgeable, was hard to understand because he spoke very fast and not clearly.
If I had to do it all over again I would skip this tour and add underground city to a red tour (mix tour)

This was a wonderful tour. The guide, Emir, was so knowledgeable and full of energy. He made learning about history fun. We really enjoyed the underground city and seeing the sites. Only downfall was the shops where they were aggressively trying to get you to buy their goods. Those stops were not needed on the tour and took time from the other experiences.

This tour was fantastic. Emir was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about Turkish history and religion. He can answer any questions you have but did a great job of not needing to constantly speak, which I personally find very annoying. Our group was small and a bit quiet and I appreciated that he was there when we needed him but also let us do our own thing. He also made modifications based on our interests and requests. Our tour guide, Adem, was polite, courteous, and very knowledgeable, sharing plenty of interesting historical information throughout the tour. Lunch was excellent, with a good variety of options to choose from, though drinks and desserts are available at an additional cost. The tour does include stops at typical tourist spots, such as a gem store and a Turkish delight shop, but there was no pressure at all to make a purchase. My favorite part of the tour was the underground city.

The underground city is incredible and well worth a visit! The guide was very knowledgeable and great at answering all my follow up questions. The rest of the tour consisted of visiting some beautiful vistas as well as a jewelry and sweets store. All were nice but if there's an option to just do the underground with one or two of the extra stops or a longer hike/exploration in one location, I would take that option if I were to come back.

The Green Tour is interesting and can be taken in addition to the Red Tour - we definitely went different places. It was not a taxing tour as there wasn’t any walks or hikes - the places are pretty far apart and so quality van time. :-) But the time was filled with our guide, Deniz, proving a lot of history and answering questions. Super nice guy, very knowledgeable. The underground city is the best part by far - and Deniz was excellent guiding us through it.
