A must do! Such an incredible experience. Even if you’ve flown other places, this one is special. Hit air balloon with 26 other people was crazy but then your balloon was one of 100 flying over this beautiful countryside. Stunning views and Discover did it with ease. Yes, yes and again yes.

Viator must do a better job interacting with customers when weather forecast predicts possible cancellation of hot balloon flights over Cappadocia. This activity is a combination of very high expectations and very high risks. Do not act like a machine!

The experience was magical! They picked us up at the arranged time, then picked up other passengers along the way. We then went back to main office for the hot air balloon briefing and they gave us a light breakfast there. Then we head out to the area where we take flight and our pilot Ibrahim did a great job. The experience was expensive and I know there are other local options that can give a better price but the scene and flight was worth it!

Incredible experience! We originally had a booking on Monday but unfortunately the weather did not allow us to fly. Luckily, we were able to fly on Tuesday, and it was incredible! Our pilot and co pilot were amazing, shared our basket with a nice couple. Champagne toast and flight certificate to end the journey.

Excellent company for a hot air balloon experience! We were originally scheduled for the 19th, but all flights were canceled that day due to weather. They quickly and smoothly rescheduled us for the next available day (the 20th) Pickup was right on time, and the entire experience was very well organized. The team was kind, professional, and clearly very experienced. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time. If you’re planning to do this activity, make sure to choose a reliable company like this one.
Note: It’s best to stay in Cappadocia for more than 1 day in case your flight gets canceled due to weather conditions. We stayed 3 nights, and it worked out perfectly.

We had the most amazing experience with Discovery Hot Air Balloon. The guide was wonderful and gave us a lot of information about the hot air balloon and where we were flying. I know it's weather contingent, but we had the most beautiful scenery during our balloon ride. We did the daylight ride and would still highly recommend that time of day. You do not miss much and it's typically a little bit cheaper. 28 people is a lot, but you are separated into cubes, so it's honestly not that bad for the price.

The hot air balloons were beautiful. There are about 28 people + 2 captains on the hot air balloon. You get picked up around 5:30 AM and get taken to breakfast (which honestly I didn't think was that good -- pastries and coffee), then are driven to the launch site. At the time of booking, it was around $115 USD /person. I knew it was going to be cheaper in the town of Goreme >> from walking around, I saw an average price of $85 USD/person, but I wasn't sure if they were reputable which is why booking through Viator ahead of time helped with my peace of mind during vacation. The day we took off it was a 50/50 on whether the weather will be okay to fly. The next 4 days after we were able to do it, they cancelled the balloons, so keep than in mind when booking a trip to Cappadocia during November.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Cappadocia! Pickup was on time, communication was great from the beginning, and ride was so smooth. Definitely recommend booking for more than one morning as flights can get canceled by the government due to weather conditions. I booked for three days in a row and I’m lucky I did because day one and three were canceled! Discovery was quick to refund day one’s payment. In terms of the flight, Ibrahim was a great pilot, dipping in and out of the valleys and ensuring everyone got a view. He landed so smoothly, I was super impressed! Noting that you do have to climb into the basket as with most hot air balloons which can be a little difficult based on athleticism and your knees. That said Discovery had the most helpful staff when it came to that and I’ve done more than one flight! Also, just a side note, the continental breakfast was light and tasty! Please remember to tip your pilot and driver!

We got tickets with Discovery balloons. Their service was top notch. We got picked up from our hotel exactly when they said they would. Then they took us to their office where breakfast was served with tea and coffee and we were assigned a pilot in a group. Our pilot, Alper and copilot were amazing. They gave us instructions (do’s and don’t) and what to do when landing. The balloon was controlled, or turned in a way that everybody could see all around. I have been on a balloon ride in US but this sunrise ballon ride through pigeon valley in Göreme was remarkable. It’s an hour ride and time just flew by. We had a smooth landing and had cake and champagne after landing. They also gave us flight certificates. We were honestly quite happy with the service and their professionalism. Had an amazing hot air balloon experience with Discovery in Cappadocia! Everything was super organized and communication was great — they always replied quickly and clearly. The pickup from the hotel was right on time, and I was pleasantly surprised that they even have their own restaurant where we could enjoy a light breakfast before the flight.
Our pilot has over 15 years of experience and made us feel very safe. He explained everything about takeoff and landing, and the whole flight was so smooth and stable. We went up to about 1000 meters as promised, and even flew close to trees and rocks — really exciting!
The views over Cappadocia were absolutely stunning — chimney rocks, Love Valley, and of course the sunrise. Such a beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Pick up was on time at the pre-arranged time. We took the van to the office in Goreme where we were given continental breakfast. After a short drive to the flight area, we saw the balloons being filled and then it was time for take-off. Our pilot, Alper, did a great job of telling us what was happening and he gave us a surprisingly gentle lift-off and landing. The views of the landscape and other balloons were incredibly beautiful. If I return to Cappadocia, I will definitely do this again.

We had an amazing morning with Discovery Balloons – the whole experience was absolutely fantastic. Our driver picked us up exactly on time in the morning, and even though we were staying quite far out of Goreme, it obviously wasn’t a problem for them to come out and pick us up. We were given breakfast and a much-needed coffee at Discovery Balloons HQ in Goreme, before being taken out to the balloon launch site.
The balloon ride itself was incredible, our Pilot was Muhsin and his talent for flying and controlling the balloon was seriously impressive. Muhsin took us through the Rose Valley which is an experience we will never forget – we dropped right down to the bottom of the valley and floated amongst the trees and rock formations – it really was pretty awesome!
We had a very gentle landing and finished off with a champagne toast.
I can’t recommend Discovery Balloons enough, they were extremely well organised and professional, with great communication regarding confirming our pickup time etc. At no time did we feel unsafe (I’m terrified of heights!) and we definitely felt we were in good hands – having a skilled Pilot like Muhsin looking after us was an added bonus!

What to say... Something that every human being must feel at least once in life. Deffo worth the early wake up. We were very lucky that this day the meteo conditions were veeeery good, with barely any wind, so the pilot (very skilled person) was able to make some low keys throught the mountains that looked like something out from a fairy tale

I flew with Discovery Balloons and it was absolutely breathtaking. My original sunrise flight (booked via Viator) was canceled due to weather and I got exceptionally lucky to be rebooked directly (not via Viator) the next day for the second flight after sunrise. I was worried it would not be as good as the first flight, but it was still magical! The views were unbelievable and the lighting was beautiful! Everything was well organized from start to finish. Hotel pickup was on time, check-in was smooth, and they provided a light breakfast before the flight. Our pilot Furkan and co-pilot Serpil were excellent!! They were professional, friendly, and made everyone feel safe. The landing was smooth and the mimosa celebration at the end was a fun way to finish the experience. This was a bucket list moment for me and Discovery Balloons made it unforgettable.
Pro tip: stay 3 to 4 nights in Cappadocia because balloon rides can be canceled due to weather. You will want extra days as backup so you do not miss this experience!
