This was a relaxing and fantastic tour of the beautiful countryside. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful rolling hills with all the sheep and cows. We enjoyed all the knowledgeable information. The tour guide and driver were very friendly and provided us with treats. She made us feel so welcome and was passionate about her beautiful country. We really appreciate her kindness and knowledge.

This was a wonderful excursion with Viola. We were able to see so much in a short period of time. The beautiful Loch Lomand, the cute Green Welly shop which is a great place for souvenirs, the dramatic ruins of Kilchurn Castle, Inveraray, and the gorgeous views from Rest and be Thankful. Luss is a wonderful little town to walk through! Be aware that the beautiful Inveraray Castle is not open every day of the week. The scenery on this trip is lovely!

Our tour guide was not up to Viator’s usual standard. It made the entire experience feel like an overpriced van ride of the countryside. The microphone on the (16 passenger) van wasn’t working so if you were sitting toward the back of the van you could not hear her. (The microphone should have been checked before everyone on the tour was picked up) Additionally her accent was very strong which made it difficult to understand her. There was very little commentary about anything and when we arrived at our stops there was almost no information about the stop. Her directions about where to go, what to do and where to meet were extremely unclear. At one stop she told everyone to be back at 1:20. But 2 people asked if they could come back later and she said ok they could have til “1:30ish”—but never told the rest of us so we all waited on the van for 10 minutes (or longer as most people got back a bit before 1:20!). It felt as though she just made no real effort to see that we enjoyed the tour. The stops were nice (although we didn’t need 25 min at the Green Welly stop after being on the van for 55 min) and we enjoyed the castles and scenery. But the tour guide did nothing to enhance the experience.

The walk to the castle is on level ground. You are given enough time to get there and back to the bus without hurrying. Our tour guide (can't remember her name) was so good. She knew so much about the area and the history behind it. She even knew about the connection with the movie Brigadoon.
Linda_R, Jun 2026
Good tour, a little more time at the castle ruins would be great. A little less time at the house tour stop

This tour was very disappointing. The bus was a long walk from our ship in the pouring rain. There was no signage to show where the bus was. And there were no people at all to show us where to go. At least eight people were late to the bus due to this. When we arrived at what we thought might be the bus, the driver could not answer whether this was a Viator tour. We saw a Busy Bus sign at the top of the windshield halfway through the tour, but no one could see it when they needed to due to the rain. The guide was nowhere in sight. When he arrived late, he had no list of who were supposed to be on the tour, and he did not have names nor did he look at anyone's tickets. As a result, the tour guide was ready to leave several people behind until their friends and relatives told him they were expecting them. All of these people were late too, to not knowing where the bus was. This was unacceptable! Also, this was a very long tour with eight hours, being on the bus with very limited stops. The guide was knowledgeable and gave us much more information during the ride than anyone could possibly digest, but it was dampened because of the poor viewing due to the rain and this limited stops. In conclusion, this tour was not worth it!!!

Greenock shore excursion was interesting. Viola was very knowledgeable and did talk with the entire tour. She knew a lot about the history and folklore. Our driver was Michael. At times his driving was a bit scary. There were a number of people who got motion sickness as a result. Hence the four stars instead of five. We have been on other Coach tours during our trip, but this one was a bit rough.

The tour guide was supposed to meet us just outside the cruise terminal but no one was there. We walked a good distance and t hen wandered through many tour busses looking for our bus which was in another section and had no markings except a small sign at the very top of the windshield which was invisible in the pouring rain. If it hadn't been for our friend who wouldn't let the bus leave - even though the guide said he was going to leave when we were 4 minutes late - and who got out of the bus to wave us down, we would have missed the tour. Another person got on the bus 5 minutes later who also hadn't been able to find our bus. The guide almost left passengers at two tour stops because he hadn't counted who was on the bus .
VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, VIATOR!
On the plus side, the guide provided good commentary about the history and geology of the area. Tour would have been beautiful if it hadn't rained all day, obscuring the gorgeous scenery. Be aware it rains 200 days a year in Greenoch.
Pen_H, Jun 2026
It was a rainy day, our tour guide Richard covered every stops in detail. We had a good time.
There was a little problem of 20 minutes late starting, we think the problem was Richard didn’t know how many people were joining the tour so he didn’t know how long he should wait.
Lynda_R, Jun 2026
There was a lot of confusion surrounding this tour.
While there was someone at the terminal to greet us and direct passengers to the buses, when we arrived the driver seemed confused and was unaware that Viator had booked passengers onto this tour. He repeatedly stated that it was a BusyBus tour and not a Viator tour.
Because of this confusion, many passengers were unsure if they were boarding the correct bus, which resulted in a delay of approximately one hour before departure.
We were scheduled to have 1.5 hours in Inveraray. However, the bus first dropped passengers off at Inveraray Castle and then remained there for about 18 minutes before continuing into town. This significantly reduced our time in Inveraray, leaving us with barely enough time to have lunch before having to rush back to the bus.
Overall, we were not overly impressed with this tour and felt that the organization and communication could have been much better.
sandra_c, May 2026
A detailed view of the region with lots of stops in the countryside finishing with an educated drive through of glasgow.
Michael_T, May 2026
Our host Violia did an amazing job make our experience on the tour spectacular. I would recommend this tour to anyone
Dana_B, May 2026
We had such a wonderful tour guide. During the bus ride she played music of the area. We all enjoyed it and she was so knowledgeable of the castles and area!
Nunzio_A, May 2026
Not exactly what I expected from this tour. To many stops in coffee shops and shopping. Weather did not help. Driver was very nice.
Monica_N, May 2026
It was a great excursion that catered to everyone in our party. It was a nice combination of bus and walking around time. I really enjoyed everything on the itinerary and there was plenty of time to see everything. I would highly recommend. We made it back in plenty of time before the cruise ship left.
Dave_A, May 2026
We had a great time with Viola and Graham on this trip. The couch was pretty comfortable and Viola did a great job of narrating the trip. She was full of interesting historical information about each of the stops as well as sites along the drive.
Deborah_F, May 2026
There is some walking but overall an easy walk. Invernery town was an enjoyable walking town and good food.
Patricia_Y, Apr 2026
It was a nice tour with lots of beautiful sights. There is a lot of bus time though. Very informative
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback! We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the beautiful sights and found the tour informative.
As our Scotland adventure from Greenock covers a wide area in a limited time, there is naturally a fair amount of travel involved, but we aim to make the journey as engaging and comfortable as possible along the way. We’re glad it was still a nice experience overall, and we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!
Vicki_S, Apr 2026
We had a wonderful day seeing the Highlands, the quaint towns and seaside stops. Alwin our guide spoke clearly and gave us a lot of historical information. We were on a cruise and had eight hours to spend. We were picked up and dropped off on time. A very enjoyable day.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time onboard with Alwin and we hope to welcome you onboard again soon! Best wishes, The BusyBus team.

Learned a lot about the history of the area and enjoyed the music played. Got a good taste of the beauty of Scotland.

Tour leader was very good we were disappointed that if you just wanted to look at the outside of the castle the bus waited and took you into town for the meeting place. If you took the castle tour you had to walk. On a nice day the 10 minute walk wouldn't have been a problem. In the pouring rain we got drenched.. it would have been great if the bus could have come back for those that took the tour after a half hour. Other than that the tour was great.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our tour leader. We completely understand how the walk in the rain was frustrating. Unfortunately, due to parking restrictions outside the castle, we’re unable to wait there, which is why the bus has to meet passengers in town. We appreciate your understanding and are glad to hear that overall you enjoyed the tour. We hope to welcome you on another Scottish adventure under sunnier skies next time!
Shirley_P, Oct 2025
It is a long day and would be much better to take in the summer, less chance of rain and fog to hide the beauty of the Highlands. Even though it was a wet day our tour guide was great. She talked about the history of Scotland and had many interesting tidbits about the area we were visiting. She stayed alert to the weather and tried to make the trip as pleasant as possible.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear that our guide made your Scotland adventure enjoyable and shared so many interesting stories about the Highlands. You’re right — summer can offer a bit more sunshine and clearer views, but even on a wet day, the Highlands have their own wild beauty!
Melinda_P, Sept 2025
Sandra did great telling us about the Scottish highlands. She had written information, talked extensively about the region, played Scottish music and even had Scottish treats for us. We were not able to see the last 2 spots listed on the tour which was disappointing.
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for your feedback! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed Sandra’s storytelling, Scottish music, and treats. 😊
Our top priority is always getting you back to your ship on time, which sometimes means adjusting the stops. The good news is that the views from our last stop can actually be seen from our first stop, so you still got to enjoy the beauty of the whole route!
We hope to welcome you on another Scottish adventure in the future.

Enjoyed the villages and the first castle stop. The castle we wanted to see the most was closed. Disappointed
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the villages and your first castle stop. Please note that, as mentioned in our product information, the castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The grounds are still accessible via a scenic 800-metre walk from the drop-off point, perfect for photos and enjoying the beautiful setting. Entry to the castle is not included in the cost of the ticket, but we hope you still enjoyed the experience.
Bruce_R, Sept 2025
It was a great tour. However, we started 1/2 late and rushed back to the ship 1 1/2 hours before we sailed. Therefore, we skipped one stop and rushed at another. Subsequently, 4 stars instead of 5.
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Our BusyBus driver-guide was notified by our contact at Greenock Cruise Terminal that your ship, the Regal Princess, would be departing port at 17:30, meaning all passengers needed to be back on board no later than 16:30. As part of our service, we always guarantee a return to port at least one hour before “all aboard,” as ensuring you never miss your ship is always our highest priority.
I have personally been in contact with your guide and driver, and both confirmed the group returned to port at 16:00. The timings on your ticket were 08:30–16:30, so this was only 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. This unfortunately meant the final stop at Luss had to be omitted, but views were enjoyed earlier in the day.
David_H, Sept 2025
Guide rushed us through lunch, told us our ship was leaving early which it wasn’t! Kept telling the driver to step on it but he didn’t listen to him. Wouldn’t go to the last stop on the tour he said we’d miss the ship but we got back over an hour and a half before the ship was leaving. Driver was great but not the guide, I tipped the driver only.
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that you felt disappointed with your tour experience.

Mark_W, Sept 2025
Excellent tour! Great tour guide. Only issues: the speaker crackled all the time and they didn’t open the middle door to get on and off! Had to wait through everyone to get out
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the Scotland Adventure and that your tour guide made the experience memorable.
Regarding the middle door, this is an emergency fire exit and cannot be used for boarding or disembarking. For safety reasons, all guests must use the front door, which is why there may have been a brief wait while everyone exited. We appreciate your understanding.
We also appreciate your feedback about the speaker and will look into it to ensure the sound system is in the best condition for future tours.
Terry_F, Sept 2025
The tour visited very interesting historical sites. When you make the booking be very careful of the times. Our tour was cut short because ship was leaving early
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the historical sites on the tour. We do understand it can feel disappointing when a tour is shorter than expected, but our top priority is always ensuring guests return to their cruise ship on time. Regardless of the time booked, we guarantee everyone is back at least one hour before the ship’s all-aboard. Your understanding is greatly appreciated, and we hope to welcome you again.
Mae_B, Aug 2025
Experience was stressful at the end due to us getting back to the ship late. Overall good narration and a safe driver at the wheel. I feel it was inappropriate for Lee to solicit tips for himself and Michael. We are accustomed to tipping the tour folks with out being asked.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Gratuity is always completely optional and at a guest’s discretion, and we apologise if you felt this was not reflected. Our tours are delivered in a fun and friendly manner, and sometimes our guides make light-hearted jokes about tips, but it is never expected.
The traffic upon your return was heavy and unforeseen, which was unfortunately out of our control, but we always ensure our guests make it back to the ship with plenty of time for ‘all aboard’. We truly appreciate your comments as they help us continue to improve, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future.
Shar_M, Aug 2025
We were able to see lots of things in a short amount of time.
The downside was not being able to spend time at each place. It felt very rushed at times.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you were able to see so much during your tour. As this is an 8-hour tour with our priority being getting you back to the ship on time, we provide little tasters at each stop to give a true insight into the overall history and highlights of Scotland. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon, perhaps with a tour designed for a more leisurely pace.
