Extremely fun. I did the tour with my two college age daughters. We all loved it. Feels like you are going on an adventure. The guides are very enthusiastic. Make sure to have a meal a few hours prior as you will be doing a lot of rowing. Would recommend to take a 6:30 tour rather than 8:30 for several reasons. You get to see the sunset and breathtaking views. It is also easier to get a hang of your kayak during the daylight.

William and the crew were great very knowledgeable and funny interactions thank you the great experience

The bioluminescent visibility depends on the phases of the moon so be sure to look into that. The whole entire experience was definitely something unforgettable! Williams team of tour guides were great! They were so personable and made sure you were having a good time and were safe the entire way! I'd recommend to anyone who wants an out of the ordinary adventure!

It was a really fun experience, all the guides were helpful and knowledgeable. The bioluminescent wasn’t super visible, but they had us go under a tarp to be able to play with the water. Overall a fun time!

The loved the kayaking trip. It's a unique experience to add to your Puerto Rico itinerary. At first I was nervous about where to meet them given that they do not have a permanent location on the beach. But, they will up in a large truck with their name on the side hauling about 20 bright green kayaks. You can't miss them! The staff is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I enjoyed the kayak tour through the mangroves into the big lagoon. We had a bright moon our night so it was more difficult to see the bioluminescence. Great staff and fun evening!

Sooooo cool kayaking at night through the mangroves. Getting to the bay was almost as amazing as seeing the planktons glowing. Only thing that was bad were that other members in our group were super loud and wouldn't stop talking. Kind of ruined it a little. The rules even said be quiet in the reserve but it was not enforced. Staff is very knowledgeable.

Our family truly enjoyed the bioluminescence experience as a whole. It was a well organized experience that brought you closer to a natural side of Puerto Rico.

Our kayaking tour with Yokahu was amazing! The guides were so fun and always making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. It was the highlight of our trip and we’d recommend it to anyone wanting to see the bioluminescence!

So much fun! The tour guides were entertaining, informative and knowledgeable! Highly recommend while in PR!

So we ended up on the 6:30pm tour and were glad we did that versus the later one.
I had the most fun kayaking through the mangroves at dusk- it was like you were on a Pirates of the Caribbean ride- so fun!
The downsides is that the bioluminescence wasn’t really that great. I guess the hurricane they had in 2017 wiped it out. So the pictures you see online are not true to life, though some days are better than others. They have you pull a tarp over your head and splash the water to see it before it gets all the way dark.
The other downsides is there are lots of tour groups doing this at the same time in the same area so it’s a little peopley, and takes longer just for waiting times of getting in and out of the mangroves.
I’d do this again, but just set my expectations a little more realistic, though it’s fun to say we did it.

It was such a great experience and I highly recommend this company! Williams was awesome and entertaining!

Wear a swimsuit, as your lower half will become soaked. Wear bug repellant on any exposed skin. Book on a new moonshine night.

Bio lights arent as bright as seen in pictures of advertisement but still great experience.. YOU WILL GET WET FROM WAIST DOWN ..
Sara_H, Apr 2026
Great experience and awesome guides! So cool to do this at night!!! You will get wet, leave your shoes at the kiosk, and bring some toilet paper for the public restroom nearby. If booking a ride share, it’s remote and difficult to get one back so I highly recommend reserving a round trip.
Jessica_B, Apr 2026
You will kayak through a mangrove to a lagoon. It is a fun experience. Seeing the bioluminescence was amazing. The guides made sure everyone is safe. If you have never been kayaking, no worries, they look out for you. Do the 6:30.
Kathleen_M, Apr 2026
10/10 experience kayaking through the mangrove and seeing the bioluminescent plankton. Definitely take the night tour.
Felix, Apr 2026
You paddle your way to the lagoon what is a good exercise on itself. The bioluminescent waters are a unique once in a lifetime experience. The guides Eloy, William,Jonathan and Jester are a great team.
Kate_G, Apr 2026
It was fun to kayak in the dark but it was a mile and a half in each direction. It was fine but we didn’t know it would be that much kayaking.
Debi_M, Mar 2026
The brightness of the water is variable, this was my 8th or 9th trip on the bay and there was just a little sparkle. I have gone where the sparkle is magical. The sky is always beautiful so if you look at it as a cool night kayaking experience you will not be disappointed.
Soledad_R, Mar 2026
Beautiful experience. Loved kayaking at night and seeing the dynothingies. Guides were friendly and checking on people to ensure things run smoothly. This experience is something very unique.
My advice for people considering this activity (regardless of tour company) is that there are too many companies and kayaks doing this tour, and it does get overcrowded. Think kayaks bumping into each other, going very slow as the group goes as slow as the slowest kayak. Just be mentally prepared that it will be crowded, but regardless, will still be an amazing experience.

This was my favorite experience of my whole trip! I was concerned about having to kayak solo since I did the experience by myself but was able to partner with Williams one of the guides and we had the absolute best time. Once in a lifetime tour of the bio bay.
Adam_T, Mar 2026
It was fun Kayaking through the trees and the bioluminescence was cool, not what the pictures look like, much less intense however it was neat! There was major traffic getting there and it put our travels back 40 minutes and we got there a few minutes past the top date, everyone wa gone already but after convincing them we already knew how to kayak they let us quickly jump on a kayak and catch up so we were SO grateful after spending and hour and a half driving there. So I would have REALLY appreciated an option for pick up and drop off because people like us staying an hour away dont know about the extra 40minutes travel planning time for traffic and it jsut makes things so much easier to have transportation available as an option. But besides that they were really super nice and it was really fun, just dont expect a light up show in the water its not that spectacular but I think its worth it, I haven't seen it before so it was neat!

We had a three person kayak that had no back rest for the people in front. The kayak took on water and we were sitting in nearly 4 inches of water the entire trip there. We had to switch kayaks at the bay. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience with very poor quality kayaks. The bio luminescence was interesting, but not worth the discomfort there and back. We love to kayak so this was not our first experience.
Zoe_M, Mar 2026
Was so much fun!! Be prepared to kayak AGAINST the current on the way to Bio Bay, but it’ll be a nice cruise on the way back. Guides were very helpful and informative, it was a great night time experience
Brenda_O, Mar 2026
Such an incredible experience! We are so glad we
did this tour while we were in Puerto Rico! We went on the 8:30 pm tour and it was perfect!
Paul_S, Mar 2026
It was a very awesome experience! The only thing I would suggest is sharing the waiver before booking wherein you sign your life away.
Eric_B, Mar 2026
This was fantastic and well worth the cost! We took the 8:00 slot on a dark and rainy night. The staff were exceptional, expertly guiding us through the forest and keeping us together amidst several other groups. The bio bay was magical—we could see sparkles with every sweep of the oar! We will remember this one forever!!
This is a 1 1/2 hour tour with a few miles of kayaking in generally smooth water. Medium effort but maximum memories and fun!
Adam_W, Mar 2026
Awesome group of guys who clearly love what they do. The experience was amazing, my fiance and I will definitely be back.
Robert_W, Mar 2026
We had a great time and it was a unique opportunity to experience one of nature’s true phenomenon.
Be prepared for an upper body workout, and be sure to bring a towel and dry clothes because you WILL get wet.
The guides were wonderful!!! Williams shared a lot of interesting information and Eloi is along for comedy relief!! Everyone is really helpful and they make it a fun experience.
If we ever comeback to PR, we’ll be doing another bio tour!!!
