Our guide, Brian, was a steady and friendly lad. The boat set out to tour the cliffs of Howth and then jaunted out onto the choppy waters towards the Eye of Ireland. Bird watching was amazing! Our companion passengers were equipped with binoculars and a good knowledge of birds. Brian was knowledgeable, kind, chatty, and full of the history of Howth. Once our boat ride was finished, we dove into the delicious fresh fish & chips, seafood chowder, and cappuccino provided by nearby Kish Fish. One of our favorite days!

Great way to spend the afternoon, easy ferry ride, pretty scenery. A little bumpy. Plan lunch at the many restaurants on the pier.

Expected to sail around Ireland's Eye but only sailed by it

Enjoyable but we only sailed up by the island rather than around it which was a disappointment..I felt like this deprived us of the full experience

Very disappointed... tour said it was approx 50 min long.... we left at 1:30 was back in shore by 2:00.... not worth the $

Great experience overall. I went solo and felt completely comfortable—the captain was friendly, and we even had a good laugh when I got soaked by a wave. I was a bit bummed not to see any puffins or seals, but that’s just how nature works. The razorbills were awesome to see and the cliffs were beautiful. Classic Ireland weather with sun and rain, and although it got choppy on the way back, the captain handled it expertly. Would definitely recommend.

The scenery was very pretty but I wish we had not spent our time and money on this tour. The ship captain never acknowledged those onboard and did not provide any safety information such as the location of life vests. There was an audio recording playing for a small portion of the trip but it was hard to hear and kept cutting out. Saw minimal wildlife.

We decided to head out of Dublin to Howth for the afternoon and were able to purchase last minute tickets. Just as we departed the pier it started raining fairly heavily. Our wonderful captain, Ollie, adjusted the itinerary to better protect the passengers. We stayed close to shore and went past a lighthouse. As we were returning, the sun came out and we were treated to a full rainbow. As a result of the weather change, Ollie took us for a little extra trip around the Irish Eye island. He was absolutely the quintessential seasoned Irish boat captain and made our trip one to remember.

This boat tour was a very nice experience. The staff checking the tickets was very friendly. The boat was nice and tidy and we had enough space to watch this or the other side. So we could highly recommend this tour. The only thing we would have appreciated more, would have been some more personal touch, like a short welcome by the captain, telling us something about the tour, which direction we would go, what to expect to see and so on. Some information came from a tape through a loud speaker and was not always clear to understand. And we couldn't ask any question if we had some. We understand that the captain had to concentrate on sailing, but just to get some information before we even left the harbour would have been nice. But thanks anyway, we really enjoyed it.

Beautiful boat ride around the harbor and protected island. Be prepared to bundle up with it being much cooler/windy at sea (vessel doesn't have an indoor area so you're exposed to the elements). There is an audio recording for significant sights while the captain stops for photo opportunities. Easy to access via public transportation from Howth DART station.

It was a lovely experience, with my niece. It was her first time on the boat. It was quite choppy because of the weather but the captain had no bother going through the rough waters. The captain was also lovely and helpful.

I would highly recommend this excursion around the beautiful coast at Howth. The tour was very informative and gave a superb overview of the history and the wildlife of the area. We topped it off afterwards with fish and chips and ice cream!
