Absolutely loved this tour, the views on the cliff walk were spectacular! Patrick kept us entertained with stories and the local lore of Howth, highly recommend!
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Delighted you loved your time out on the cliffs! The views around Howth really are something special, and Patrick has no shortage of local tales to bring the place to life 😄 Thanks a million for joining us and for the recommendation — we’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Patrick! ☘️
Leslie_H, Aug 2026
This was a fantastic “hike”. Slightly steep climb in parts on the cliffs, but very manageable overall. Patrick was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and generous with his local recommendations. You should do it! (And the food at The Bloody Stream was so good!)
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thanks for the fantastic recommendation! We’re glad the climb felt manageable and that Patrick kept things fun with plenty of local stories and tips along the way. And finishing with great food at The Bloody Stream is always a nice reward after the hike! 😊

One of the funniest tour guides we’ve ever had on our tour of Howth! Paddy was great and so was hanging with the pups! Excellent pint after the long walk.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Sounds like Paddy kept the laughs coming all the way around Howth! 😄 We’re glad the pups were a hit too — and after a good walk, that pint always tastes even better. Thanks for joining us!

The best tour we did in Ireland!! Mark knows how to tell a story and we learned so much about Howth all while Missy (the puppy) was leading the pack. Stunning views, hilarious tour guide, and all around great time! My fiancé also coordinated with Mark to do a surprise proposal and boy did it deliver. 1000000/10 recommend this tour (seriously do it).
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Wow, what a day — and congratulations on the engagement! 💍 We’re thrilled Mark and Missy helped make such a special moment unforgettable. Stunning Howth views, great stories and a surprise proposal… that’s going to be hard to top! Thank you for the 1000000/10 recommendation! 😊
Beth_K, Jul 2026
This was a wonderful tour!! Patrick, our guide, was welcoming, fun, and knowledgeable. The views from the hike were absolutely breathtaking. It is truly a hilly walk up the streets and then the cliffs of Howth. If you’re physically able, it’s a hike worth taking (note: it is a hike not a stroll). The dog and puppies were the icing on the cake! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting the Dublin area.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for the wonderful recommendation! We’re so glad Patrick made you feel welcome and kept the hike fun along the way. Those Howth hills certainly earn you the breathtaking views — and having the dogs and puppies waiting is a pretty great bonus! 😊
Donae_K, Jul 2026
This is a WONDERFUL way to spend the day. It's only a short train ride away from Dublin to get to Howth. Patrick was our guide and I can't say enough nice things about him! So much knowledge! He was engaging, entertaining, funny, and just a really nice guy. If you're looking for a tour with absolutely beautiful views while getting outside and learning some fun culture this is the tour for you. The hike was only a little challenging at times but manageable. One of the highlights of our trip.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
“One of the highlights of our trip” is wonderful to hear! We’re delighted you enjoyed the stunning Howth views, local culture and a few laughs along the way. Patrick will be thrilled with your kind words — his enthusiasm and knowledge really do bring the area to life. Thanks for recommending us!
Chase_M, Jul 2026
My father and I had a great time hiking with Mark and another group. The hike was a perfect way to spend some time just outside of Dublin. I would highly recommend booking this experience. It wasn't super expensive and well worth the money.
The meeting place is easily located just outside of the train station. The train ride was also another nice way to see the city of Dublin and go to visit the coast.
Mark was such a nice guy and gave so many great stories of the area.
He was even kind enough to help me book a reservation with a local golf fitting shop, after my club was broken by the airline.
Thanks again Mark and it was a pleasure to meet you!
Response from Host, Aug 2026
So glad you and your father had such a memorable day in Howth! Mark will be delighted to hear your kind words — and we love that he could even help with the unexpected golf club situation! Thanks for the wonderful recommendation, and we hope the rest of your trip was just as enjoyable.
Alyssa_M, Jul 2026
This was by far the best tour we took on our trip to Dublin recently. You could not go wrong getting out to Howth to begin with, but add in a knowledgeable tour guide and puppies and it's quite the experience. Highly recommend getting Paddy as your tour guide - he's the best time and felt like a best friend by the end of the trip. He knows all the best local spot recommendations and seems to know everyone in town.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
What a compliment — thank you! We’re thrilled this was the highlight of your Dublin tours. Paddy has a way of making everyone feel like an old friend while sharing the best of Howth, and of course, the puppies make it even better! 😊 Thanks for the fantastic recommendation.

Must do. Best day out. Mark the guide was awesome and Missy the dog. Beautiful scenery and a great pub to finish off. Thank you. 👍
Response from Host, Aug 2026
“Best day out” is exactly what we love to hear! 👍 So glad you enjoyed exploring Howth with Mark and Missy, taking in the beautiful scenery and finishing with a well-earned pub stop. Thanks for joining us and for the brilliant recommendation!
Denise_F, Jul 2026
The hike up Howth Cliffs and the walk through town was thoroughly entertaining. I highly recommend it! Patrick led us and it was a lot of fun. The pups and beer after wound up a wonderful afternoon.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're delighted you enjoyed exploring Howth with Patrick and that the hike, the pups, and the well-earned pint made for such a wonderful afternoon. Thanks for the recommendation—we'd love to welcome you back again!

Puppies and Pints in Howth was an absolute highlight of our trip to Ireland! The hike offered breathtaking coastal views, charming trails, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beauty of Howth. Spending time with the friendly dogs made the experience even more special.
Our guide was knowledgeable, welcoming, and clearly passionate about both the area and the animals. Finishing the adventure with a pint and great conversation was the perfect ending to a memorable day. If you’re looking for a unique experience that combines stunning scenery, local culture, and adorable canine companions, Puppies and Pints is a must-do!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you so much for this fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that Puppies & Pints was such a highlight of your trip to Ireland. It's wonderful that you enjoyed the stunning coastal scenery, the beautiful trails, and, of course, spending time with our friendly pups along the way. We're delighted that the mix of local history, great conversation, and a well-earned pint made for such a memorable day. Thank you for recommending us so highly—we truly appreciate it and hope to welcome you back for another adventure the next time you're in Ireland! 🐾🍻
Lori_R, Jun 2026
Mark, along with his pups, made for a very enjoyable and memorable day in Howth. He shared the history of the area, notable names and recent stories as we walked through town and along the cliffs. The views were incredible! Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate to complete the full hike, but that only meant we got to the pub sooner. Things to keep in mind…parts of the hike may be difficult for those who struggle with stairs and it was significantly more windy in Howth compared to Dublin, so I would recommend layers.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear you had such an enjoyable and memorable day exploring Howth with us. It's great to know you enjoyed the local history, stories, spectacular cliff views, and, of course, spending time with our pups along the way. While the weather had other plans, we're glad it still led to a well-earned visit to the pub and didn't take away from your experience. We also really appreciate you sharing those helpful tips for future guests. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure—perhaps with blue skies next time! 🐾🍻
Kelly_M, Jun 2026
We really enjoyed this experience. Mark was very funny and informative. Missy, the pup, was a perfect guide for our walk. We got to meet Mark's trainees, Sky and Luna. They will make great guides one day. You get a walk through town, a hike on a trail over the cliffs, then a pint in town. The walk isn't too hard, but there is a bit of up hill and uneven surfaces. The trail is crowded on a nice day. The town is very cute and we stayed and walked around after, ending with another pint at a pub with cats. It was a great day to spend with 4 legged ambassadors.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear you had such a great day exploring Howth with us. It's wonderful that you enjoyed the mix of local history, coastal scenery, and plenty of laughs along the way. Missy will be thrilled to know she earned top marks as a guide, and we're so glad you also got to meet Sky and Luna—they're certainly learning from the best! We really appreciate you sharing some helpful tips for future guests, and it's great to hear you made the most of your time in Howth after the tour as well. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure with our four-legged team! 🐾🍻

Highlight of my Dublin trip. Great tour even with the inconsistent weather. Patrick was not only informative but hilarious….

This was my favorite experience of our entire trip. Paddy is a fantastic guide/storyteller. The views you see on this hike are absolutely stunning
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for the kind words! It means a lot to hear this was the highlight of your trip. Paddy has a real gift for bringing the stories, history, and landscape to life, and we’re delighted you enjoyed the experience with him. Those views really are something special, and we’re so glad they left such a lasting impression. We’d love to welcome you back for another adventure someday!
nshack1535, May 2026
There is a 4 mile hike that is on the edge of the cliffs if someone is afraid of heights they won't do well. The hike can be challenging.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thanks for your feedback. As noted in the tour description, this hike includes some cliff-edge sections and requires a moderate level of fitness. While only a small part of the walk is close to the edge, we do recommend that anyone uncomfortable with heights choose a different hike.
nhartenbaum, Apr 2026
Fantastic experience, don’t miss. Mark was amazing. So entertaining and knowledgeable. We spent so much of the walk/hike laughing. The video montage at the end (included) was a great memory of one of the best tours we’ve taken. And of course the puppies - such cute companions (the puppies do appreciate chips at the end)..
The hike would be considered moderate with some narrow paths and some areas in incline (of course you are climbing to the top of the cliffs) but easily done if no mobility problems and in reasonable shape.
If looking for a totally enjoyable day, sign up. No surprise that Mark gets all 5 star reviews
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Ah this is brilliant—thanks a million! I’m really glad you had such a fun day out in Howth—plenty of laughs is always the goal 😊
Great to hear you enjoyed the video at the end (nice way to relive it all straight away), and I’ll be sure to let the pups know they’ve fans… and maybe a few extra chips next time 🐶
Appreciate you mentioning the hike details too—that’s really helpful for others. Thanks again for the kind words, it genuinely means a lot!
Anya_C, Mar 2026
This is such a special experience! You’ll get to do the best part of a hike with amazing views with good company and even an adorable pup..
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thanks so much for this—really glad you felt it was a special experience! 😊
That’s exactly what we’re going for… the best bits of a hike, stunning views, great company and of course an adorable pup to keep things lively along the way 🐾
Makes it all feel a bit more like a day out with friends than a tour. You’d be more than welcome back anytime!
Cheers,

If you’re visiting Dublin and debating the long trek to the Cliffs of Moher, do yourself a favor and book this instead! We didn’t want to spend a full day of our short trip to Dublin traveling elsewhere, and we are so glad we chose the Puppies and Pints Adventure in Howth. It’s a quick and convenient 30 min train ride from Dublin, and it is a perfect combination of breathtaking cliff views and interesting history. We came away feeling like we'd actually learned something while having a total blast.
Our guide, Paddy, was incredible and made the experience even better. Tilly, the cutest doggo, is a star and was the perfect fix for us since we were missing our own dog back home. She is a world class negotiator when it comes to french fries, so save yourself the trouble and just order an extra side when you get to the Bloody Stream Pub!!
Even with the typical Irish weather (spitting rain on and off), this coastal hike was easily the most memorable part of our trip. As long as you pack a rain jacket and some reliable boots or sneakers (which you should be doing in Dublin, anyway), you’ll be fine. We spent a few hours hiking through the town and along the cliffs before ending at the pub for fantastic food and even better Guinness. It was super easy to navigate and a must do for anyone visiting Dublin!!!
Also - one of the coolest takeaways is an amazing montage video! Paddy sent us the video via WhatsApp after the hike and it included posed pictures, action shots, and a whole trail of where we walked and stopped throughout. It was so cool to send to friends and family to give them a trip update, and I even added it to my end of trip insta post :)
Response from Host, Mar 2026
What a review—thanks so much! 🙌
Delighted you chose Howth and had such a great day with Paddy (and of course Tilly the chip negotiator 🐾😂). Sounds like you got the full experience—views, laughs, a bit of Irish weather and a well-earned pint at the end 🍻
Great to hear you loved the video too—that’s always a nice little bonus!
You’d be more than welcome back anytime!
Cheers,
Mark & the crew 🐾
William_L, Feb 2026
Knowing the title of this tour I had figured it would be a highlight of my trip, but it really exceeded expectations! Had an excellent time hiking around and learning about the history/culture of Howth with our wonderful guide Mark and his fearless companion Missy - cannot recommend this tour enough!!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Delighted it lived up to the name—and then some! 🙌
Great to hear you enjoyed the hike, the stories and a bit of Howth history along the way. Missy will be especially pleased with the “fearless companion” shout 🐾😄
Really appreciate the recommendation—means a lot. You’d be more than welcome back anytime!
Cheers,
Mark & Missy 🐾

It was one of the best things we did in ireland! The guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the history we had so much fun!!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
That sounds like such a special experience—thank you for sharing it with us! We’re really glad it stood out as one of the highlights of your time in Ireland. It means a lot to hear that your guide’s knowledge and friendliness made the history come alive while still keeping things fun. That’s exactly the kind of experience we hope every guest leaves with. Hope the rest of your trip was just as memorable, and we’d love to welcome you back again someday!
BETH_R, Dec 2025
Patrick was amazing, full of historical events and just entertaining jokes. Hike was a bit more strenuous than this 65 year old with bad knees and back counted on but Patrick and other guests were patient with me and offered a hand when the going got tough. Wouldn't have missed the amazing landscape for anything!! Easy train trip from Connolly station in Dublin!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thanks so much for your lovely review! We're so glad you joined us and that Patrick's mix of history and humor hit the mark. Huge kudos to you for taking on the hike—we admire your determination, and it’s great to hear the group supported you along the way. The views really do make it all worth it! Hope the easy train trip made the whole adventure even smoother.
KellyAnne_G, Nov 2025
It’s a fabulous way to spend a few hours exploring Howth. With dogs! Paddy made it entertaining as well!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
We couldn't agree more—dogs and Howth make for a pretty fabulous combo! 🐾 So glad you enjoyed the experience, and we’re happy Paddy added some extra fun to the mix (he’s good at that!). Thanks for joining us and for the kind words—it means a lot!
Kelly_S, Nov 2025
Great day trip from Dublin. Super easy to get to from Dublin via the metro. Our guide Kevin was excellent - super funny and lots of great anecdotes and recommendations! We lucked out with really great weather for the hike too and the scenery was breathtaking! If you’re looking for a day trip to see a little bit of county outside Dublin, this is a great option! Also, looks like a great town to stay over as visit too. Thank you for a great day!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
What a fantastic review—thank you! We're so glad you had such a great day trip, and even better that the weather decided to play nice for your hike! ☀️ Kevin will be thrilled to hear you enjoyed his stories and tips—he really does know how to bring the day to life. Thanks again for spending your day with us—we’d love to welcome you back anytime!
Shelly_R, Oct 2025
Amazing! The views were fantastic and our guide Patrick was very knowledgeable. And funny! The hike is a bit strenuous at times and can be muddy so be prepared. It’s well worth it though.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thanks so much for the great review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the stunning views and had fun with Patrick—his mix of knowledge and humor really brings the hike to life. it’s all part of the adventure—and so worth it in the end.
Diane_V, Oct 2025
Entertaining, scenic and educational! Patrick was an excellent guide. Wasn't sure what to expect going on my own, but Patrick created a really fun inclusive vibe which the whole group enjoyed. The video he provided at the end was a perfect souvenir.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for this lovely review! We’re especially glad to hear that, as a solo traveler, you felt welcomed and part of the group—Patrick has a real talent for creating that inclusive, easygoing vibe. The mix of scenery, stories, and laughs is what we aim for, and we’re so happy it all came together for you. And we agree—the video makes a great little keepsake! Hope to see you again next time you're in Howth!
Elayne_A, Oct 2025
This was a FANTASTIC experience! Patrick was a great guide and you get to see so much of Howth! Hike can be strenuous at times, but you do not need to have experience hiking to complete. Would recommend to bring a bottle of watet!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much—we’re thrilled you had such a fantastic time! Patrick will be delighted to hear he made the day so enjoyable. And great shoutout on the hike—it’s definitely doable for all levels, but having a water bottle handy is a smart move! We really appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you again for another adventure in Howth!
Leslie_G, Oct 2025
If you’re only going to walk one tour in your life, make it this one — mostly because it ends with a pint and food at The Bloody Stream, and also because your legs may never recover from laughing!
This walking tour of Howth had it all: stunning stunning coastal views and cliffs, hilarious history from our guide Patrick (basically a stand-up comedian in hiking boots), and a surprise cameo from Tilly the sweetest dog who joined us at the beginning of the walk and rejoined us at The Bloody Stream.
If you’re into breathtaking views, belly laughs, and adorable dogs, book it now. You won’t walk away disappointed — ending the hike with a pint at The Bloody Stream was the best!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
This review is pure gold—thank you! We’re absolutely thrilled you had such a memorable time (and gave your legs a workout from both hiking and laughing!). Patrick will be over the moon to be called a stand-up comedian in hiking boots—he might put that on a business card! And of course, Tilly’s cameo appearances are always a crowd favorite. We're so glad the views, the laughs, and that well-earned pint at The Bloody Stream made it all unforgettable. Hope to see you back for another round—your legs will forgive you eventually!
William_H, Oct 2025
Our guide Patrick was knowledgeable and fun. Beautiful hike and cute pup Tilly. Pint at the end was well earned!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thanks a ton for the lovely shoutout! We're so glad you enjoyed the hike—with Patrick’s stories, Tilly’s charm, and those views, it’s hard to go wrong. And yes, that post-hike pint always feels extra satisfying! Hope to see you again next time you’re in Howth!
