We learned to prepare chillo (red snapper), a fresh and delicious Caribbean fish often caught by local Dominican fishermen. The highlight was cooking it in a creamy coconut sauce—a true taste of the island! The instructors were warm and knowledgeable, sharing insights into traditional Taino cooking and the use of fresh, local ingredients.
The class is suitable for all ages and skill levels, making it a perfect activity for food-loving travelers, families, or groups of friends. We ended the class by feasting on our own creations, and I have to say—it was one of the best meals of my trip. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore the culture and cuisine of the Dominican Republic in a unique and memorable way!

Fun couple of hours learning how to cook a traditional Dominican Republic dish - great tutoring from the resident chef -- even the most culinary challenged could do this!!!! Helped along by a couple of glasses of chilled white wine! ( or a beer)

Had soo much fun! First cooking class I've been to, and I felt like a chef at the end of it! Beautiful room to cook in and the chef is very nice and passionate about his job. Food turned out amazing and tasted wonderful. If you're looking for an indoor excursion, definitely try this class out!

I loved this experience. It was good to get off the resort and cook an authentic Dominican meal. I met two nice women from California. I will do this again if go back to DR. The chef was great and funny. Think his name was Rudy.

Amazing experience! I highly recommend! It was one of our favorite things we did in Punta Cana! The chef was fun and very knowledgeable. We learned, cooked, and ate. It was the BEST dinner of our vacation. If we had gone earlier in our stay we would have gone again for one of their other cooking classes! Delicious!

Overall a great experience!
We arrived to Taino Gifts and started our tasting in the gift shop-- Chocolate, coffee, tea, mamajuana, and rum. Then we were given some time in the gift shop before our heading over to the back room for our class.
Rudy was our teacher and is a fantastic person to cook with. He guided us through cooking the fish and avocado salad while giving us great cooking tips. He was also able to get us a birthday cake last minute for my mom's birthday which was also delicious!
10/10 experience and would highly suggest!

This was such a fun way to learn about a traditional DR dish and have a recipe to take home with us to add into our weekly meal menu. The chef was patient and explained everything well to us, even our silly questions. We then feasted on our cooking afterwards! 100% recommend this experience!

This was so much fun! We cooked red snapper and it tasted amazing. One person in my group doesn't eat fish and he ate all of his. The chef was so nice and personable which made it so much fun.
