Top Tulum Private Sightseeing Tours

I booked a private tour of Tulum and Coba ruins with Viator for July 28, 2026 for my boyfriend and myself. Alejandro and Jose were excited to pick us up promptly and were extremely accommodating. Jose did an excellent job o navigating while Alejandro briefes us about the trip. During the drive, Alejandro gave us an informative masterclass of the Mayan culture's ways of life along with visual aids to make the information come alive. He has an indepth understanding of the advanced recording, timekeeping and mathematical systems of the Mayan people. Alejandro showed us housing structures, temples and paintings. We were in awe of his wealth of experience and knowledge. He dialoged with us to answer all of our questions into the past and how it connects with the present. Through his eyes, we learned so much and it was apparent rhat his passion for teaching has lifted his learners to higher levels of understanding. He offered us to climb Nohoch Mul, one of the only preserved ruins that vistors can access. We did so enthusiastically and he offered to record our photos for posterity. Alejandro was informative about the history of each ruin, specifically pointing out the development of the ball courts in Coba. We learned more in one session with Alejandro than I had learned in my previous trips to archeological sites combined. He was extremely fluent in English which we appreciated very much. We stopped for a buffet lunch at a wonderful restaurant in Coba. The cuisine and service were both excellent. I cannot thank Alejandro enough for the excellent tour and Jose for driving. We enjoyed visiting the 3 cenotes all with different personalities. We were blessed to have a private tour with Summer. She was very patient in answering our questions and knowledgeable with the information and history of the cenotes. She was very easy to talk to and natural in sharing her adventures.

The tour operator Eli was great. Communication was on WhatsApp. Eli gave me a picture of his vehicle which was helpful. He was casual,very friendly, and knowledgeable. His personality was such that you felt at ease and was just hanging out with a friend. It was a private tour just for the two of us and the one one experience was awesome.

Chichen Itza was closed so we went to Ek Balam. We were able to climb the structures and learned a lot about the culture on the drive out! The Cenote was very refreshing as a long hot walk. Lunch was avg at best. The driver was very cautious and our guide was very knowledgeable. The price is a bit spendy, but we were not jammed in a hot bus and could control our AC and move on our achedule.

I had a really lovely experience at Riviera’s Kitchen and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Tulum. The class was small and intimate with only six people, which made it feel very relaxed and personal. The host was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable, and she explained everything clearly so it was easy to follow along. We made several delicious dishes together, starting with a really hearty soup made with corn, courgette and chicken broth. Then we prepared tacos with a pork filling and made a variety of fresh salsas, including avocado salsa and chilli salsa. We also made some cheesy empanada-style snacks which were really tasty. It was such a fun experience cooking together as a group and learning about the ingredients and techniques used in Mexican cooking. I feel like I could actually try making some of the dishes again at home. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would give it five out of five. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an authentic and enjoyable cooking class in Tulum.

Great adventure and fun, really glad we did it. Negative reviews give some useful practical suggestions, but some must be down to expectations. Keep an open mind and go for it! Raphael was a great guide and kept it moving along. Not everyone in a group responds in the same way but he was very patient. Bear in mind this is in the middle of the forest/jungle - paths are rocky and rooty, steps to platforms can be uneven but take your time. The chain came off one ATV but they got it sorted quickly. No other issues.

It is very fun. If you expect to eat a lot, you won’t, but that is not the point of the tour… you will get to sample different and delicious tacos as well as get a history and explanation of the differences. We were with Armando and he was such a delight! Very knowledgeable and entertaining.

a great experience to discover differently Tulum and 2 beautiful cenotes while cycling. Everything was perfect and well organized. Cycling trips are widely accessible and we were practically alone for our swims.Water, mask and snorkel are offered for free. Lunch/Brunch in a very refreshing place. Special mention to Macarena , our very nice guide , super focused on the environment and history and speaking very good French!
