Top Sicily Candy Making Classes

Sicily is known for its heavenly cooking, but it is next to impossible to track down recipes and recreate your favorite dishes without guidance from an expert. On this small-group cooking workshop, learn how to select seasonal ingredients during a visit to a local market. Then, get hands-on instruction in preparing Sicilian specialties such as caponata, fresh pasta, Messina fish rolls and more before sitting down to enjoy your meal.

What's better than a cooking class to learn how to prepare Sicilian Pizza and Cannoli just a few steps from the Sea of Taormina and Naxos? Together with the "Family Siciliano" you will learn to use fresh and local ingredients, which enhance the flavor of each dish, and make Italy and Sicily famous throughout the world. With Chef Mimmo you will learn the art of preparing Pizza and typical "Bruschetta" with local products: Pachino cherry tomatoes, basil, oregano and olive oil. With the father Siciliano, a great local pastry Chef, you will create the famous Cannoli, learning the secrets of preparing the perfect wafer and cream that make Cannoli the most famous Sicilian dessert in the world. Furthermore, you will learn how to make "Angel Wings", typical traditional sweets which in Sicilian are called "Chiacchiere", and which are popular sweets of the Carnival period. And then everyone to the table, facing the Mediterranean Sea, to enjoy your creations accompanied by a tasting of Limoncello.

The best way to connect with any local culture is through food, and nowhere is this more true than Sicily. With this cooking class, shop for ingredients at the market in Taormina like a local before learning how to prepare a variety of traditional Sicilian dishes with Chef Massimo in his restaurant kitchen. Enjoy the fruits of our labors over lunch afterwards, served with two local wines.

Finding the best cannoli bakeries—pasticcerie—in Taormina can be a fun challenge, but it can also turn into fruitless trips between neighborhoods. With this tour, take the guesswork out and let a chef help you prepare cannoli from scratch, using traditional recipes starting with the crusty shell and ending with sweet ricotta cream. When you’re done, taste your creations and receive a “cannoli expert” certificate.

This is a hands-on cooking experience, not a demonstration. You will prepare limoncello, lemon granita and almond cookies with your own hands. You will learn how to recreate these Sicilian flavors at home and discover Sicilian traditions and food culture. Vegetarian options available.

This experience is not just a cooking lesson: it is an invitation to open the door of a real Sicilian house and experience the island through its most authentic traditions. What makes it unique is the intimate and reserved atmosphere: no large groups or impersonal environments, but a family welcome where each guest is the protagonist. Every dish you prepare will never be like a catering dish: it will bring with it stories, memories and little secrets kept DA generations, recipes that are rarely shared outside the family. And for those who want an even more exclusive experience, there is the possibility to customize the menu with other typical dishes, such as pizza, arancini, risotto or Sicilian fish, or to organize the cooking class directly in your Villa or Private Accommodation. These special options come with a small surcharge, but turn the lesson into a truly tailored and unforgettable moment. A unique experience, DA remember.

The activity stands out because it transforms the preparation of the Sicilian cassata into an authentic artistic experience: not a simple cooking class, but a creative journey lived in an intimate and refined environment, where contemporary art and Sicilian tradition meet in a truly exclusive moment.
