Great adventure into the oldest desert
Unusual and great experience in the world’s oldest desert. Our guide Leon gave us insight into this vast place. He opened my eyes to the different types of deserts and what made everything look the way it does. It was great to stop in several places and really feel the ground and the atmosphere. Lunch and snack were excellent. We saw ostriches, ground squirrels and springbok. It’s a truly unique day.

4 X 4 Dune experience
Gerhard was our tour guide and is incredibly knowledgeable about the entire area, its wildlife, plant life, sea life and all round knowledge about the dunes. Will stop for you to take pictures and answers just about any question thrown at him. A fun guy to have as your tour guide. At the food stop the dishes were beautifully displayed and ever so delicious. The entire experience was incredible. Highly recommend.

Exhilarating…Fun…Breathtaking. Don’t miss this one!
Don’t visit Walvis Bay without doing the Sandwich Bay adventure. And I can’t imagine anyone does it better than this one. Our guide (Andre) was exceptional. Fun (a little crazy in a good way!), an excellent driver (very important on this one!), and knowledgeable. The scenery of the Namib desert is breathtaking and he knew all the “special” spots to showcase it. A few surprises along the way….but I’ll leave it at that (or they wouldn’t be surprises!).
Highly recommended!

Great tour!
Fantastic tour experience, the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I’m very happy I decided to book this tour rather than explore Windhoek by myself because he took me around places I wouldn’t have seen without a local guide. Also I asked for additional places to visit and it was accommodated without any issue. Amazing experience, would highly recommend!!

This was a very good...
This was a very good experience if you want to learn about Namibia and get a brief overview of what is around Walvis Bay.
The pick up at the cruise terminal was a little muddled as the guide we had been told to look out for wasn't the one we went with. We started off with another guide, changed and were then told we were doing a different tour. However, on a further check, this was rectified and we were really happy with the tour.
Vincent is a wonderful young man who is passionate about his hometown and is a great ambassador for Namibia.
We had a fabulous few hours and were very fortunate with our travelling companions.
Thank you Vincent, and thank you too to Martina & John.

A great shore excursion
We booked the Sandwich Harbour tour as it was much cheaper than the shore excursions being offered by our cruise line and it did not disappoint. The pick up and drop off at the port was smooth and on time while the vehicles were comfortable and well maintained (they didn’t squeeze too many into the 4x4s).
Our driver/guide was CJ and he was brilliant, as were all the other drivers from the company we interacted with at the stops. They take you to cool spots and show you how to get the best pictures.

Amazing day with Winton
Winston picked us up at the cruise terminal in Walvis Bay. We made a quick stop to see the flamingos on a beach in the distance. From there we made another quck stop at the Salt mine. The next part was the highlight of the day. He masterfully drove us to Sandwich Bay, through the crazy sand dunes on one side also dodging waves at times, on the other side. It was absolutely an incredible day. It felt like we were in another world.

What an honour it was to...
What an honour it was to spend this time with the San people. I learned so much about this ancient culture, and there was something both spiritually and philosophically stimulating in watching how they work in harmony with their natural environment. What's more, I felt proud that by joining a tour like this, I was doing my little part to help conserve their lineage. Thank you so much to Erastus for translating while being the warmest guide I could ask for. I have travelled far around Africa, and this was one of my all-time highlights.

Full day Sandwich Harbour
A wonderful day travelling along the beach and into the Sandwich Harbour and dunes, with great guide. For those arriving by cruise ship, the guide, Uwe, met us harborside.
We drove out of Walvis Bay stopping to see flamingos, pelicans and the salt lakes. We continued along the beach and up into the sand dunes, stopping at a number of incredible viewpoints. Along the beach we saw lots of cormorants and seals. In the dunes, Uwe pointed out the tracks of hyenas. He suggested we take off our shoes to enjoy the feeling of sand between our toes. He dropped us off at the top of the dunes and we climbed/slid down barefoot. We stopped for drinks and lunch, a selection of meats, samosas, cheese with cake and sweet deserts, very enjoyable. On our return route, we drove through the bush where we saw Oryx and Springboks. Returning to Walvis Bay, we stopped again the see the pelicans and flamingos and also saw a jackal wandering along the beach, searching for mussels etc.
Uwe was very knowledgeable and we had a great day out with him.
Highly recommend this trip.

Fantastic experience!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience on this half day trip. I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. Our guide Deon was incredibly knowledgeable and made the entire experience fun and memorable. Driving along the beach at low tide was a thrill and the view from up on the dunes onto Sandwich Harbor was breathtaking. The lunch provided high up on the dunes (with oysters and sparkling wine) is something I will never forget. I have already recommended this trip to several other travellers we have met in Namibia. We absolutely loved it.

The best way to spend a morning!
Sooooooo manyyyyyyy seals - even if you’ve seen seals or been in the water with them…..not this many! We were on a cruise and the company had good communication, transport and timing. SJ was a wealth of info and v interesting chap himself - ask him questions should you be lucky enough to have him as your driver! The experience was priceless. I’m coming back as a walvis bay Namibian seal if there is reincarnation cause it’s all about playing eating and sleeping :)
