What are people saying about Mexico City

David is the best!
This experience was one of the top highlights of our trip! Our host David was so friendly and knowledgeable. He communicated clearly so we knew exactly where to meet and board the boat. Once onboard we were treated to great conversation, fun music, and ice-cold drinks (tequila, mezcal, beer, and non alcoholic beverages were available). The trip felt personalized, with options to stop and shop or see the axolotls, as well as acknowledgement and celebration of my partner’s birthday! David is a spectacular guide and I highly recommend booking with him if you want to spend an enjoyable time in Xochimilco. We will be back with friends next time!

Come Hungry & Expect the Unexpected!
This was such a great experience and easily one of the highlights of our time in Mexico City. Everything was super organized from start to finish, and there was a lot of food- definitely come hungry because you’ll be trying way more than you expect.
The market portion of the tour was especially memorable. It’s not for the squeamish, but that’s what made it so unique- getting a glimpse into a side of the city you probably wouldn’t explore on your own. It felt authentic, a little wild, and really interesting. Food-wise, there was an incredible variety, including some more adventurous options like javelina, which made the whole experience even more fun!
But the absolute highlight was our guide, Josie. She was bright, bubbly, and brought so much energy to the group. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and it completely elevates the tour. She made everyone feel comfortable, kept things engaging, and honestly made the whole day.
All in all, such a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The price is a bit on the higher side, but with the amount of food, the organization, and especially the quality of the guide, it’s absolutely worth it. I’d definitely recommend booking if you’re in CDMX.

Tasteful authentic experience
Fantastic, thoughtful and very pleasant experience with Ileana who guided us through the neighborhood market while sharing so much valuable and authentic knowledge about different fruits and vegetables we saw along the way. We were lucky to be the only family cooking that day and had the kitchen to ourselves. Illeana was patient, very knowledgeable and respectful with my teenage sons and thoughtfully engaged both of them in food preparation. Well done and thank you very much for giving us tasteful food and a great class!

Fantastic cooking class and market tour.
Overall a fantastic cooking class and market tour. I ended up going to back to the market and bullying several things the following day, and I would not have known where to go if I hadn’t had a tour first. The class was well paced, interactive, and ended in a delicious lunch! Wholeheartedly recommended.

Delicious churros and coffee with the whole family
This churro making class was an awesome experience for my entire family. My kids are 12 + 9yo. They were engaged throughout the class and had fun. Andrea was a great host and shared two recipes with us: churros and cafe de olla, a traditional preparation of Mexican coffee. Everything was delightful.

Delish and Exciting Mexican Cooking Class
This experience was delightful! Cooking in someone’s personal kitchen felt super homey and there was a ton of food on the menu! It did take a long time to make all of the courses, even with 10 people, so don’t show up too hungry. You’ll eat around 8 or 9

In case you haven’t...
Our group of four had an amazing time with Lucia! Lucia was a clear and effective teacher for cooking delicious tacos, sopes, mole, and dessert and we returned home with new recipes and skills. We also enjoyed chatting with her about Mexican history while dining in her beautiful home. Her insights on Mexican culture, food, and history provided valuable perspective on our entire trip. She also gave us recommendations for places to visit which we enjoyed greatly. Thank you, Lucia!

A bit of everything … in a very good way!
A lovely tour which combined an eclectic mix of history, art, local food and local culture in locations well off the normal beaten track for tourists. Andrea, our guide, is a lovely young woman who added a great deal to the experience. Her English is perfect, she has a passion for México and she is engaging, interesting and enthusiastic. As you’ll have gathered, we loved it and would thoroughly recommend it.

Saucy Salsas
Veronica led our group through the market and taught new tips and tricks about salsa ingredients. On the walk to her place she provided insight into local landmarks and traditions. She broke our group up into four teams which allowed us to make new friends. I shall treasure the colorful recipe cards she distributed.

Excellent guides!
We were guided by Valentin, Amistad and Andres. Safety was their priority and ensured that we were able to weave through the busy streets of Mexico City with ease. The route, the food experience, the historical insights from the guides were all amazing! This is the tour and the guides to book with!

Great class!
Our favorite activity to do when we travel is to take a local cooking class, and this cooking class did not disappoint. We had so much fun at our cooking class. Aremi was so nice! We selected a private cooking class and worked with Aremi to suit our tastes. I would recommend this class for sure!

Above and beyond - so much fun!
If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Our chef, Jazz, was absolutely delightful. She took us through the market to select our ingredients for the salsas, pointing out things and having us taste things as we walked. Then we walked to her place just across the road. It was already set up and amazingly appointed for the class. It was fun and interactive. Above and beyond our expectations. We tasted the salsas as we prepared them and then made quesadillas at the end. We were planning on dinner after but no need! We left fat and happy! We now have four delicious salsa recipes under our belt and a memory for life.
