Raul was upbeat and knowledgable. We had many delicious street foods, got some history and art, and ended with a mezcal tasting that was fun. Highly recommend.

Once in a lifetime exposure to the charms of Mexico City
We have been on food tours all over the world, and our guide Ana was the best. The depth and breadth of her knowledge of food and history was incredible. Her energy, sense of humour and passion for her city was infectiuous. This tour was excellent value and we would highly recommend it!

That was an absolutely...
That was an absolutely amazing tour. It went all day and combined food, culture, and history into a single event.
The range of the food choices was great. There were mid and higher end restaurants, street vendors, food market, and even a museum offering.
The small group setting (just four of us) and tour duration allowed for more interaction with the guide.
There were no downsides at all to this tour. It was just one great experience after another.

Amazing food tour of...
Amazing food tour of Mexico City’s historic core with Victor, whose enthusiasm for both history and food was evident from the first moment to the last. The pacing of our food stops was perfect. We ate SO much but didn’t feel sick or overly full by the end. What a chance to try so many different foods with an excellent guide to help us navigate the flavors and neighborhoods.

a MUST DO food tour in Mexico City!
What a FABULOUS tour -- couldn't have been any better! Lis really knows her history and her food - she took us to place we never would have found on our own and told us such amazing stories. I am Mexican and thought I knew my food's culture but she blew me away with her knowledge. Do not hesitate about taking this tour - WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Soooo much food!
Almost 6 hour walking food tour of Zócalo- 10 stops and you definitely get your moneys worth of food, history, sites and ended with a Mezcal tasting! Liz was an extremely knowledgeable guide about the history of food and we saw some hidden murals and learned about their history and the revolution and their connection to food. We went to restaurants, the market, food stalls on the street and everything was great! It’s a lot of walking @ 7km so it’s a full day and you don’t need to eat dinner afterwards!

A feast of fabulous food and fascinating facts
Our tour guide Ignacio was amazing! From prompt arrival to a very relaxed ending of the day, It was truly a memorable experience. Ignacio, a.k.a. Nacho was extremely knowledgeable not only about the food, but also about the history behind the ingredients and the preparation of what we ate. Our marketplace adventures were enhanced by Nachos insightful details about surrounding art, murals and city artifacts. We came away from our tour with full stomachs, and a huge, new appreciation for the culinary history of Mexico . it was a fun ,delicious ,memorable day and an experience that I know will be a highlight of our trip. Ignacio is an A+ guide, and the tour was phenomenal.

The Goldilocks Tour: not too long or too short but just right...........
There are many recommended guided walking tours in Mexico City. And I'm sure they are all good tours, but if you want to have a unique experience with a local then look no further than this one led by Liz. Liz (Mexico City born and bred) has a local's knowledge of the Centro Historico as well as an encyclopedic knowledge of Mexico's history which she skillfully layers into the narrative. Yes, you'll eat a ton of wonderful food and visit some "interesting" locations but you will also learn a lot about the history of Mexico both the city and the country. So, bring your appetite and your curiosity and be prepared to be satiated!!

When to visit

As in most major cities in Latin America and around the world, pickpockets are common around the main tourist areas, so keep an eye on your belongings and only carry the essentials.
Opt for the Metro over the city’s pink taxi. There have been reports of robberies, and as a tourist, you may end up paying much more than the going rate.
Most museums in the Centro Historico are closed on Mondays.
Many Centro Historico attractions are wheelchair accessible, but some of the neighborhood’s narrow, uneven lanes are difficult for wheelchairs to navigate.
