All Laos Tours & Excursions in 2026

Our tour started with a prompt morning pickup at our hotel in an air-conditioned van. After picking up the other guests, Mr. Pong and Mr. Kong drove us to a traditional village, where we learned about local history, music, harvesting and milling, and traditional hunting techniques. Next, we visited a beautiful set of waterfalls, where we had a couple of hours to hike or swim before enjoying a well-prepared buffet lunch with plenty of food and complimentary beer and soft drinks. The highlight of the day was meeting and feeding a mother elephant and her one-year-old calf! We then boarded a boat to explore caves, learn how Lao Lao (traditional Lao rice whiskey) is made, and enjoy a beautiful sunset as we cruised down the river. Beer, tea, and water were provided along the way, and we disembarked very close to the night market, which was a convenient way to end the day. Throughout the tour, Mr. Pong was friendly, attentive, enthusiastic, and incredibly informative. It was clear that he genuinely loves his job and takes pride in sharing his culture and country with visitors. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, varied, and memorable full-day excursion outside Luang Prabang. One small tip: If you’re tall or have long legs, be aware that the van can feel a bit cramped, especially on the bumpy mountain roads. That minor inconvenience aside, this was an excellent experience!

We only had a short time to spend in Laos, and this tour was an excellent way to see its natural beauty. Our guide Souk was so knowledgeable about the history of Laos. I left the tour feeling more educated on the culture and people of Laos. I cannot say enough good things about this tour. We toured caves, visited lagoons, hiked to a viewpoint, and rode the long boat. Souk was flexible with what we wanted to do/where we wanted to spend our time. It did not ever feel rushed. We felt very safe in the hands of the driver Mister Ki. The van is very nice. This was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend.

This was a great tour. Not only did we learn about food & got to try so many different varied foods, but out guide. Somsack was a delight. He gave us a lot of information about the culture, which we found very helpful. I really liked the I formTion about the lives of the monks. After visiting so many temples, it was great to have some first hand information about it. We got to meet a monk & get a blessing, which I found very moving. The guide told us about what was going to happen & if someone was not comfortable, no one felt obliged. (My husband didn’t & all was good) The most important part: the food we tasted was great. We were so full by the end that we couldn’t have another bite. Highly recommend this experience!!
