A truly fantastic day
This really was a brilliant tour. All the sights were so beautiful and each one so different. Our guide, Tudor had a great knowledge of the history of each place we went to and also of Romanian history in general. Tudor was an excellent guide and was relaxed and considerate with a great sense of humour. All of this combined made the tour so enjoyable. I particularly loved Viscri and the restaurant Tudor recommended to us which was so charming. Highly recommend this tour through Active Travel

Can't miss experience in Brașov
Vlad the guide gave us tons of information on the way to the hideout, both about bears in general and their situation in Romania. It was so interesting, and Vlad is clearly very knowledgeable. The bear watching itself was incredible, we saw 13 different bears including cubs and tons of foxes too. It was an incredible experience. Can't recommend enough!

See the communist memorial — Cantacuzino
Picked up at our lodging and guide/driver did everything he could to minimize walking. The castles do require a lot of stairs, so beware. Peles castle has some of the most beautiful woodwork anywhere. Cantacuzino is beautiful on the outside. Although not mentioned by the guide, I found to be a great allegory for the communist time in Romania. They stripped the castle of everything — just as the communists stripped the Romanian culture of their artists, writers, scientists and national identity. It’s worth a visit to see how throughly the communists were. Bran castle was decorated for Halloween and was very dark. It took a lot away for the visit for me as I am more interested in history. The guide was very good except he was difficult to understand at times — partly because he talked very fast and road noise had its affect.

We had an excellent tour...
We had an excellent tour our guide Valentin was great explaining things as we went around and answering all our questions. He was friendly and engaging, didn't rush us and gave clear instructions of where to meet when we had free time to explore. Our transport was comfortable as Valentin has a 7 seater vehicle and there was just 4 of us.
Whilst it is a long day with a lot of travelling it is well worth the drive especially Viscri and Sighisoara

We had Traian as our tour...
We had Traian as our tour guide and driver. He was right on time to pick us up at 8:15 am in a comfortable and clean van. He offered us bottles of water. It rained and he had umbrellas for us. There was a long traffic delay due to a crash and he quickly went a different route. Everything had the right amount of time including the Rupea fortress, the Fortified Church in Viscri, and Lunch at Dracula Restaurant and free time in Sighisoara. We got back to Brasov at 5:30 pm. Excellent and well-paced tour.

Romanian castles
If you have to choose only one castle, go with Peles. Bran was just ok, and we only visited cantacoucino's gardens, which were wonderful. Alin was a great guide. He gave us a lot of information, and he even altered the row of the schedule in order to avoid peak time, which was really good. I would definitely recommend this experience!

Wonderful day tour
Great day visiting Bran Castle, Peles Castle, Rasnov Fortress and Sinai Monastery. Alina is an amazing tour guide. There were only the two of us on the tour in the end, so it was basically a private tour. Alina is so knowledgeable and is from Braşov, so she is local.

All round great day out
The bear sanctuary was an absolute must, Bran castle is a lovely building but aspects of the Dracula link were not displayed very effectively and more could be made of the full story to include Vlad the impaler. Rhasov fortress was a pleasant surprise even though we could not access the whole site, and very informative on Transylvania history

Amazing hike with Marian...
Amazing hike with Marian from Active Travel. The loop trail around Magura and Pestera was very scenic and varied, with diverse landscapes such as barns, pastures, forests and a cave, with fantastic red and gold autumn foliage at this time of the year (end of September). It’s a great look into rural life in these areas, with lots of sheep, cows and horses, and the included lunch was great as well. Marian is very nice to talk to and very informative, with lots of interesting insights to share! Depending on how well-equipped you are, you can do different itineraries. I did the easy one and both the itinerary and pacing were great! Would definitely recommended it. Thank you so much!

Lovely contrast
Very enjoyable day touring from a very quaint rural village to the bustling atmosphere in Sighisoara.
Sebi our guide was great, never rushed anyone which is very appreciative when you are making your way walking on cobbled streets.
He was also very knowledgeable. Very enjoyable day.

Great tour
Very friendly and educational tour guide and fun and beautiful visit to the castles. My daughter and I had this as our top attractions to see and it did not disappoin. Must see places while in Transylvania and would highly recommend booking this tour.
