The last part of the trail passes along a dry stone wall in an area dominated by Azorean heather, an endemic floral specie. After lunch, time to get amazed with Algar do Carvão, a volcanic chimney that is, without doubt, the best known volcanic cave in the Azores. Driving to Angra do Heroísmo, we still have time for a short stop to visit Quinta dos Açores..

This trail takes us into the interior of Terceira Island, passing through some of the highest points in our island - up to 2600ft - walking through amazing japonese cedar plantations and native vegetation, making the viewpoints mesmerizing!
