Only the two of us were booked, so they transferred us to a Sunset cruise on their partner, pirates Cove. Our captain, Bobby, was outstanding, and we really enjoyed this little cruise as he taught us all about the birds and the ecosystem, before positioning the boat for a perfect sunset.

We called ahead because earlier in the day we had to cancel a half day snorkeling excursion due to weather. They said weather would be fine - all good. We boarded and got less than half way through the 1.5 hr sunset cruise and we had to turn back due to storm. No sunset on the sunset cruise. The crew was great - I just don’t feel like you should take people out on a boat in the ocean if the radar shows bad weather because - i get it that you have to run your boats - but it was just a waste of money.

Hi Maria, We recognize that when people visit our island chain on vacation, they sometimes only have one opportunity to go out on the water. We do our best to provide a safe and fun environment for our guests to enjoy themselves within the parameters of what is happening. This is why we changed our snorkel trip earlier in the day, from the open ocean to the more protected bayside. Based on the information we had, we thought the Sunset Cruise would be fine to run, as the conditions on the bay leading up to our departure seemed doable. As the conditions were originally good enough to operate, we ran our trip because we knew it was important to people who wished to participate and enjoy the water. Occasionally, the weather surprises us, and this was one of those times. We were happy to refund your payment for the trip, and it has been processed from our end. We also wish that the weather had cooperated better so we could have given you the full Sunset Cruise experience you were hoping for. Peace, Love, and Diving, Tess

New Years sunset cruise in Key Largo

We were just two couples and our captain on this cruise, which was an unexpected bonus. He was very knowledgeable about key largo, and about the mangroves.It was extra good for us since we had gone on a self guided tour of the mangroves in our kayaks earlier.But with no guide to give us information about the mangroves. With thoroughly recommend this trip.

Nice to be out on the water at sunset, but not a notable excursion. Our captain taught us about some of the local birds and fish, and a little Key Largo history; he showed us one or two places that have good music at night, but made it sound like basically all the food on the island is mediocre. Also disappointing that our "2 hour sunset cruise" was actually 1 hour, 15 minutes from departure to return.
