Dario was amazing and I had the best time learning about Guatemalan dishes and making them with the group. It was a pleasure meeting everyone; we shared so many laughs, stories, and memories! Thank you Dario and team!

The class took place on a lovely rooftop with lovely hosts, and the food was wonderful! Definitely recommend for any traveler looking to learn more about authentic Guatemalan food and people.

I went into this cooking class expecting to learn specific recipes (a teaspoon of this, a half cup of that), but what I actually took away was far more valuable. I learned how much Guatemalans value food and meals as deeply shared experiences. In that sense, it was one of the most insightful and memorable lessons of our entire vacation. There were 12 of us “students,” and the chef was brilliant connecting with each of us. With his warm personality, humor, and perfectly timed pours of wine, he turned the evening into a lively, festive gathering. We all became his sous chefs around a large, beautifully arranged prep table filled with ingredients for an appetizer, soup, entrée, and dessert. Everyone pitched in with prep tasks—mine included chopping vegetables and then making the fresh tortilla dough. (Somehow the chef sensed I’d been experimenting passionately with pizza dough at home for months—talk about a magical touch!)The real highlight was the group dynamic. Complete strangers quickly felt like old friends. We laughed, talked nonstop, and connected in a way that only happens when people are cooking, eating, and sharing wine together. The evening was pure joy from start to finish. I may not have walked away with new technical cooking skills, but I gained a genuine appreciation for the Guatemalan approach to food as something communal and celebratory. Easily the most entertaining and heartfelt 4 hours we spent on any excursion. Highly recommended!

They pick you up from your place which is very convenient. There is an option between two dishes to cook as an entree and you share prep work then enjoy the meal. Not a lot of history on the food or area but good conversation between the other people in the group and host.

Dario was an amazing teacher! I can’t remember the other chef’s name but she was also awesome, they were both super funny and great at what they do. I would definitely come back and do this all again, there was so much food and it was delicious!

This is a great way to understand the Guatemalan culture. Our tour guide was excellent and linked our dishes to the local culture.

10/10 experience cooking on the rooftop with other people from around the world. The hosts of the tour were all very nice and made it so enjoyable. I love that they provided red wine and we had lots of tasty apps before the main course. Everything was delicious.

Absolutely fantastic. Delicious food, beautiful location, lovely hosts/instructors. 4 of us were in Antigua for Semana Santa, and booked a cooking class at Cuscun school in Jocotenango. Our chef was Dario, assisted by Melany, and we had a phenomenal experience learning about the guatemalan ingredients, flavors, and history behind the meal we helped to prepare. Dario was not only a great host, providing guidance and commentary in both English and Spanish, but was also a really fun companion for the evening. The weather cooperated so we spent the full several hours on the rooftop, with wonderful views of the skyline and volcanoes. I cannot recommend this experience enough. And Cuscun school is incredibly fortunate to have chef Dario.

Honestly, this dinner was one of our highlights from our trip to Antigua! The setting on the rooftop was amazing, and our family each had a role in the prepping process. Kids were ages 9 12 & 14 for reference. I wouldn't hesitate to book this experience.

Oh my gosh, this was so fun. Our group of diverse strangers really bonded - thanks to Darrio and Bendy (spelling?) - and we had a blast! We were wistfully saying how sad we were to say goodbye. The food was amazing. The hosts were informative and entertaining. This was an outstanding activity!

This cooking class was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our guide, Dario, was absolutely amazing — knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing authentic flavors from Guatemala. The traditional Guatemalan dishes we prepared were fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious, giving us a real taste of the local culture.
As if the food wasn’t enough, the beautiful surrounding views made the experience even more special. Cooking, laughing, and sharing stories while overlooking such stunning scenery created the perfect atmosphere. By the end of the class, we not only enjoyed an incredible meal but also walked away with new friends and wonderful memories to cherish.

This class was definitely a highlight from my stay in Antigua! The ingredients are beautifully laid out when you arrive, the drinks provided were delicious, and the cooking was as hands-on as it gets. I had the best time getting to know the staff, practicing my Spanish (optional) and enjoyed eating the amazing food we cooked while appreciating the views of the city.

The experience and food was amazing with room for improvement: (1) The route to pick up group members could be improved to save time. (2) Despite the posting not listing this detail, they do in fact provide round trip transportation if you are coming from an approved location. (3) The most ideal class size is 10 people max. This would occupy everyone's time without leaving anyone out. Exceeding this number, like our class, can leave up to 5 or more strangers in a less than ideal position without any responsibilities for extended periods of time. The other chefs do in fact take over much of the more difficult cooking tasks in the end to ensure the food is cooked correctly. (4) While they do their best to explain the background of dishes, when it comes to receiving instructions on what to do knowing some basic Spanish phrases relevant to kitchen skills will go a long way. (5) Despite what other reviewers have stated, we were not promised and did not receive any of the recipes which I had looked forward to because the food was amazing. (6) You may end up sitting in direct sunlight for hours if you are in a large 10am class so come prepared with a hat, sunglasses, and/or sunscreen.

Highly recommend! We were picked up from our hotel and although there was traffic we got straight to work. Dario was an amazing chef and instructor and really made the experience. We made an appetizer, main dish, and dessert and squeezed in between we got to try local fruits.

Chef Dario was amazing all the way around. He made the class fun, interactive & he was extremely friendly & knowledgeable. The
wine was flowing & the food was delicious. Cooking & eating on the roof top made it extra special.

Loved the cooking class. I went with my best friend for his birthday. It was so much fun and the chef and staff were super nice. The other people who were there for the class was so cool and we all got along great. The overall setting was so chill. Music, sunset food, drinks and laughs. The food we made was really good. We were all shocked how good it was. Will definitely book again!

Amazing experience! Warm and knowledgeable staff. We had the option of making three different authentic Guatemalan main dishes, appetizers and dessert. Very fun, well guided prep. We all learned techniques new to us. Then we were able to relax and enjoy the fruits of our labor with our chef. An absolute must do while in Antigua!

We had the most amazing time at this cooking class! The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was full of flavor, and the experience was so well organized. The staff was incredible—friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome from the start. It was not only informative but also so much fun. Such a great experience! My brother and I went and were in a group of 5 (plus our host). We all got to chat and get to know each other. It was very educational, fun, and relaxing. I highly highly recommend! The food was so good and the scenery was beautiful. It is one of our favorite memories from our trip! Bring a jacket because it’ll get cold on the rooftop once the sun goes down
