Walk alongside penguins on Isla Magdalena and watch the diverse fauna of Isla Marta Cruise the Strait of Magellan to the Magdalene and Marta Islands. Magdalene Island hosts one of the most important penguin colonies each year and Marta Island hosts more than 1,500 sea lions. We begin with this unique adventure, after checking in at our office, we head towards Bahia Laredo by transfer to embark on speedboats; for 45 minutes towards Magdalena Island, where we will disembark 1 hour with our guide to know the natural habitat of the Magellanic Penguins, in the largest colony in South America. We continue our journey to Marta Island to see Sea Lions (weather permitting), imperial cormorants and hundreds of southern seagulls. Then return to the pier and Punta Arenas. On our journey to Tierra del Fuego Island, we first start with picking up the passengers from their respective lodging places in the city of Punta Arenas, and then heading for the city of Porvenir on a cruise crossing through the Strait of Magellan with a duration of 2 hours. When arriving in the city of Porvenir we visited the Selknam Square, coastal and a restaurant as an option for the passenger. Then we head towards the Pinguino Rey Park in a van ride with a delay of 2 hours approx. When we reach the Pinguino Rey Park we must pay an entrance fee, then we head towards the Pinguino Rey viewpoint, from where we can observe them at a distance of approximately 30 meters. After our visit to the Pinguino Rey Park, we return to another ferry crossing in Primera Angostura with a delay of 30 min. Return to the city of Punta Arenas arriving at 21:30 approx. at the respective passenger accommodation places.

The walk throughout the penguin colony was excellent and seeing the Southern Sea Lions was unbelievable. A comfortable trip! The guide on the boat was so knowledgeable and wanted everyone to understand the area and what we were seeing. We arranged a similar trip 2 days later as we enjoyed it so much.

Our Favorite

This was our favorite excursion in Puerto Arenas! Chef Felipe did an amazing job teaching us to make the dishes and letting us get hands on in the preparation! Mariano was also very friendly and conversant and we learned a lot about the lives of the locals people. This is a definite Must-Do if you visit Puerto Arenas!!!!!!

Good but long Day!

This was a wonderful day with incredible views! Daniel was a great, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide! Jaime was a good driver. Daniel was happy to answer our many questions and taught us so much about Patagonia. We saw SO many animals! Including an elusive puma (or two?!) Guanacos (alpaca), condors, rheas, flamingos… But it’s definitely a long day in the car. Three straight hours out/back with no stops. Lots of stops in between. There were opportunities to purchase food but understand it’s not guaranteed depending on timing. For some reason I thought there was some level of hiking on this tour, which there wasn’t.. I clearly just misunderstood but thought I’d note it so others don’t make the same mistake. Highly recommend this experience!

This is a nice tour around the Punta Arenas area. It includes a peaceful and informative hike through the beautiful forest preserve close to town (about 2 hours) and an informative tour through town. Our guide Nicolas was a very fun and amazing young man. A source of many local stories (Ghost & otherwise), and a learned study of local politics and history. We enjoyed the tour and the discussions with Nicolas very much. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a look at the local Punta Arenas area and some great talks about the local history!

Excellent tour to see incredible views and marine life. Best whale watching tour I have had, and seeing the magallanes penguins was amazing. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this a “must” tour while visiting Punta Arenas!

Adrenaline Rush, Beautiful Nature and Views complimented by best Tour Lunch

Quite surprised that an activity I wasn’t considering has been my favorite thus far while making my time in Punta Arenas more special. First, Javier is a true gentleman passionate about biking, Patagonia and adventure experiences. It was wonderful spending 6 hours with him riding, along with the riders who joined. The riding across two different locations offering superb technical challenges, complimented by the best views (views I didn’t think were possibke) in Punta Arenas while the landscapes were stunning to climb up through the forest and down amazing down hills. The delicious wonderfully thought out lunch had the best bread I’ve had between Chile and Argentina including the big cities, wonderful cured meats, the best snack pack and plenty of water to hydrate. This experience is for the adventure lover, nature and view seeker, along with someone who wants to truly enjoy themselves as Javier is a world class guy while speaking super English and Portuguese, along with his native Spanish. Was tremendous to practice my Portunal while my adrenaline climbed!! Do not miss this experience
