Best Douro Valley Boat Ride and Lunch

Everything about this experience was beyond our expectations. We were greeted immediately by our Captain Carlos to check us in and make sure we were in the right spot for Deltatur boat ride. I would 100% recommend this trip but you have to add the lunch. Lunch was spectacular!! Traditionally delicious and portions were huge. A meal at try is the lamb and cod. Ask for half portions so you could share and experience the goodness of all the traditional foods. Ask for Telmo as a guide, he was so helpful and interesting. Thank you for a great trip.

Lovely Trip

The trip is in beautiful wine growing country first the boat trip with plenty of sparkling wine flowing. There was supposed to be a choice of either wine or port, my husband would have preferred the port as he doesn’t like sparkling wine, unfortunately I had to drink his! 🫢 The guide was very good and knowledgeable. Train journey back just as picturesque. Lovely trip would highly recommend.

Perfect day in Douro

We had a wonderful day with Alfredo as our guide in the Douro valley! He is so knowledgeable and gave us the history of the area while we traveled to each stop. The wineries he selected were exceptional, the three course lunch was incredible, and the boat ride was the perfect end to our day. We would recommend this tour to family and friends traveling to the area.

Great tour! We took a 1.5 hour bus out to the Duoro Valley, stopped at a lookout point and then to a vineyard. Our boat was really fun as well! I’m glad we got the train part of the way back. Jesus was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic day! Ándreia and her husband, Valdemere, were fantastic tour guides. Valdemere navigated the roads beautifully and Andreia was so passionate and knowledgeable about her country. Loved the small family wineries and the lunch was one of our best meals. Best tour we have been on in Portugal!

Great scenic experience

Very very beautiful and peaceful boat ride, the town Pinhao is also a great place to see the valley and not overly crowded or touristy. The hosts were very informed and addressed all questions and even gave some great tips and recommendations for viewpoints and activities. The port wine was also good and the whole ride was very scenic. Highly recommend!

Great little tour of the...

Great little tour of the Douro Valley surrounding Pinhao from the river. Bruno and Evo were a hilarious duo leading the boat tour portion and kept us entertained and engaged. Our driver up to one of the Croft Quintas was incredible with his command of 7 different languages. The Quinta tour and tasting was pretty basic, but that was OK since we had our kids with us. It was a beautiful day in a beautiful setting.

Don’t miss this tour with Andreia and Valdemar!

We had a wonderful day with Andreia as our tour guide and her husband, Valdemar as our driver! We got to experience 3 different small wineries with very different winemaking styles and tastes. We learned so much both from the actual wineries but also from Andrieia along the drive. The Duoro Valley is absolutely stunning and loaded with history. They also took us to 2 stunning overlooks for incredible views. A wonderful lunch of local cuisine was also included. This tour surpassed all other wine tours that we’ve ever had and we’ve done a ton of them around the world. Valdemar was an excellent driver! There were some crazy roads that he drove like an expert…thank you for our safety! The couple that was also on the tour had some concerns (car sickness and heights) and were taken well care of by Valdemar and Andreia. Their comfort was always top concern. I can’t say enough positive things… the whole day was amazing! I know we can’t control who you get as a guide on this trip, but they can make or break the enjoyment. We are so happy we got them…and no, I am not her mother!! 😊

Exciting way to see Douro from many angles.

This was probably the best day we had in Portugal! The off roading on narrow old streets was super fun, the scenery was gorgeous. We learned a lot about Douro, the wine, and even about Portugal itself. We tasted many wines and had delicious food. Our guide, Vasco was wonderful. Highly recommend this tour.
