There are terrific views...
There are terrific views from the top of Galata Tower! Seeing the Fener/Balat neighborhoods provided a different perspective of the city, away from the high tourist traffic areas. Our tour guide was phenomenal and very knowledgeable on the history of the city.

A perfect tour through Galata, Balat and Fener
The tour was fantastic, especially thanks to our guide Ergil, who was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.
We began at the Galata Tower, enjoying a beautiful panoramic view of Istanbul. Then we explored the historic neighborhoods of Balat and Fener, full of colorful streets and rich multicultural history.
A very pleasant walk combining great views, culture, and authentic local atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Cute Neighborhood
What a sweet tour. Just a walk around a cute neighborhood with lots of history and color. Tried some great coffee and bought a couple souvenirs to bring home.

Great tour, but be prepared to walk up and down some pretty steep hills.
Excellent tour, but may not be for anyone adverse to walking up and down steep hills. Very insightful as far as the evolution of the city and the varied ethnicity. Our Tour guide, Yunis, was very knowledgeable, personable and animated. He did a great job conveying the history of the city. Highly recommend.

great tour especially for those searching a little Greek history of the city
the tour was fantastic albeit felt funny when picked up from the hotel in a mini bus so big it would fit 2 people and i was the only person! otherwise the tour guide made up for it with his knowledge so was a good day.

This was one of our...
This was one of our favorite tours in Istanbul. Our guide was communicative, knowledgeable, and very friendly (and didn’t mind our frequent stops to photograph cats on the street). This tour felt unique and away from the classic sights around the city. Highly recommend for something that feels a bit different and special.

Nice half day walk
Except for the churches at the beginning and end of the walk, everything else is seen from the street. The guide was a nice guy who cares a lot about his neighborhood and is very helpful.

Wonderful tour
Sami was very informative and thoughtful. He provided so much information both on history and current life in Istanbul. He made sure to take us to all we wanted to see and took good care of us. We would highly recommend him.

Beautiful tour despite the rain
Despite the rain our guide Erol made this a really enjoyable experience. He is so knowledgeable, engaging and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Galata tower and surroundings (with many gorgeous photos) and then our journey to Balat and Fener. The churches are stunning and it was particularly beautiful to see the architecture, interior decor and many relics. The neighbourhoods of Balat and Fener are very charming with their colourful houses. We stopped for tea and cookies in a local cafe recommended by Erol. Erol was a super guide and I would highly recommend this tour.

Best Tour
I think this was my favourite place and tour. Rose was so nice, welcoming and genuine. It would be shame not to see these places if you are visiting Turkey. A must do tour for sure. Highly, highly recommend!!

Honestly, I didn’t know...
Honestly, I didn’t know much about Istanbul’s history until I joined this trip. Our trip guide, Yunus, was a nice guy and told us a lot of interesting stories about history. I’m happy I came.
