Nika did a wonderful job giving a historical tour around the city. She tailored it for us and even had to navigate quite a lot of crowds, since the city was having a marathon that morning. We saw all the sights, and she moved at a nice and restful pace for us. She gave plenty of breaks to talk and rest and gave several options for a restroom as we traveled. She even took us to some out of the way places that offered beautiful views and special stories. We really enjoyed it, and her English was very good. We would recommend this tour to others.
Nika was an excellent tour guide for our group. She answered all of our questions and gave great advice of where to visit in our own after the tour.
We had a great time walking around Venice with our guide Carlotta. She is a Venice native and showed us some special spots that we probably would have missed otherwise. It was like walking around with a friend, more conversational than a group tour since we were a group of 3. We felt more comfortable asking her questions about Venice than we would have in front of a big group. Carlotta was really lovely and in addition to showing us the sights she took us to a couple small stores where I bought some italian ceramics and looked at some beautiful hand painted furniture. We also stopped by an interesting bookstore. I would recommend this tour if it's your first time in Venice or you've been many times. You're bound to see or learn something new.
Great way to get to know about Venice. Walked around and spent time in different areas. Learn where to eat locally.
Shaheer was excellent. He was very communicative the days previous to us arriving in Venice and adjusted his schedule to accommodate 2 last minute timing changes due to our transportation being rerouted.
He was a local and a Masters student in Venice, so excellent knowledge and great discussion.
I would suggest that 2 hour is probably the right amount to give you your bearings and understand the “why” of Venice.
It was a lovely time, and a great way to get acquainted with the city. Highly recommend this more casual approach to a walking tour.

This was a truly customized and personalized experience walking the streets of Venice. Our guice Eloi was enthusiastic, personable, and filled with anything Venice. He did his homework, asking the day before, what we wanted the tour to cover and he covered it. We asked for restaurant recommendations, he provided three, we went to all three and loved them. He made some great suggestions on special artwork installations to attend. This tour was unique. If we had asked him to take us to all of the classic tourist sites he was prepared to do so but we didn't want that type of tour. Eloi and this walking tour expreience is hightly recommended. Go as early in the morning as you can to avoid the crowds.
Amos was our tour guide. He was absolutely awesome! It actually started raining during the tour, and we had to wait, until it passed. He handled the situation like a pro and we got to continue and finish the tour. He took us to spots, we would never visited on our own. If you plan on choosing this tour…I would highly recommend Amos. He has a lot of historical knowledge concerning Venice. You will not be disappointed!
Our guide was a local college student who wasn't a Venetian native, but was still very familiar with the area and could share stories and insights into the sites. He helped accommodate my elderly mother quite well, and we were able to enjoy our own pace around the city. Overall a very nice experience!

We had a wonderful tour with Ama during our honeymoon in Venice. From the very beginning, she was kind, friendly, welcoming, and made us feel completely comfortable.
What we really loved was how she balanced history, culture, and storytelling. She shared interesting stories about Venice in a fun and engaging way, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. She also showed us beautiful hidden corners of the city, iconic viewpoints, Rialto Bridge, and St. Mark’s Square.
Ama went above and beyond to make the tour special for us. She took many beautiful photos of us throughout the tour and helped create unforgettable memories from our honeymoon. She was always attentive, making sure we were comfortable, enjoying ourselves, and getting the most out of the experience.
We also loved learning about Venetian culture, local traditions, food, and daily life. She even took us for delicious gelato and shared fascinating stories about the city along the way. One particularly thoughtful gesture was the handwritten congratulations letter she gave us for our wedding, which was such a lovely surprise and made the experience even more personal.
We spent two wonderful hours together, and the time flew by. Ama’s warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine care made this one of our favorite experiences in Venice.

Perfect booking for what we wanted. We visited Venice for a day and wanted to get a feel for the city in a quick tour. Did a 2 hour tour with Hadar. Always awesome. He took us around to some of the key spots, lets us meander through the streets. Took us to a great food pit stop. And ended the tour in his favorite Campo. Great tour.
Francesco was amazing. A true local that showed us quickly the BIG places then we went off the beaten path and explored some of the unknown gems of Venice. Two hours went quickly, but we were glad for his time, expertise, spirt and love for the city and sharing it with us. BRAVO!
We had a very nice time, Ester was lovely & catered the tour to suit our interests, we stopped for a coffee along the way. We went to areas that we wouldn’t have gone to, some of which were less crowded, she was knowledgeable about the area so that was great. Two hours was enough for us but you can go for a longer time if you prefer
We’ve learnt a lot about Venice, thank to Zahra Taheri , she’s very enthusiastic and informative. We can also discuss some other subjects besides the tour.
I could hardly describe this as a tour. Our guide silently strolled next to us and pointed about obvious things, “this is a square”. There was no history told to us. We ended the “tour” early because we can walk around on our own

We're genuinely sorry the tour did not deliver value for you. A silent walk with only obvious observations is not the experience we want anyone to have, and what you've described falls short of the standard we hold our Lokafyers to.
At Lokafy, our Lokafyers are locals who share their city from their own perspective rather than professional licensed guides offering structured historical commentary. That said, we do expect our Lokafyers to engage warmly, share stories, and bring their personal connection to the city. In this case, that clearly did not happen, and we will be following up internally to understand why.

This is a unique tour and recommended for travellers that are curious to understand and experience the local history and flavor. The local tour guide offers immersive and in depth cultural knowledge, local customs while uncovering local hidden gems not marketed by the traditional tours and more importantly, it was safe.
We asked to be brought to food haunts to experience where locals frequent and the food experience was nothing short of fantastic. In addition we walked through the streets of Venice and given a history of each district we visited including the uniqueness of each of the places we visited and relationship between them. This was never anticipated but added to the understanding on how these districts evolved over time. This was our first time in having a local guide and we have no regrets and only praises for this unique experience as our guide was very articulate, patient and in our opinion experienced and knowledgeable. Our guide Gio was exceptional and made our experience memorable. Before we parted, our local guide introduced local restaurants serving local Venetian food. We tried his recommendation and was not disappointed in both taste and value.
You will be walking for 3 hours … ~ 5 miles total. If such a tour is not your cup of tea, select another or advise the docent of your walking capabilities. The tour was revealing, humorous and informative… along with traveling through the non-tourist neighborhoods. A great day.
Carlotta was our guide for the walking tour. She did a wonderful job of showing us through Venice. She was very knowledgeable of the area and its history. She remained cheerful and upbeat even though if rained during our entire tour. We would definitely recommend her to anyone that was interested in a walking tour of Venice.
A wonderful, perfect way to experience Venice. Our guide, Ilaria, created a unique, interesting, informative, and fun tour that really helped us get a feel for the city, its history, neighborhoods and people. One of the true highlights of our trip!!
Miriam gave us a great tour. She was fun, engaging and knowledgeable. She accommodated the couple requests I had and also had great pro-tricks for avoiding heavy tourist congestion while still getting into the key sites.
Silvia’s wine and cicchetti tour was incredible! While booked as a group tour, my wife and I were the only participants, so it ended up being a private tour. We learned more than we ever expected, had amazing small plates of local delicacies, fabulous wine and visited both quiet and comfortably lively neighborhoods away from the common tourist spots. But most importantly we met a friend in Silvia whom we hope to see again. She is a loving spirit doing these tours for the same reason we book tours by locals - to truly connect and learn from each other no matter where we are from.
This tour, and Silvia, earned our highest recommendation possible. We will be encouraging everyone we know going to Venice to book this tour.

Turkan is a absolutely wonderful tour guide. Our walk through the neighborhoods of Venice was a highlight of our visit. She is a highly intelligent young woman who is as personable and knowledgeable as she is beautiful.
This tour was amazing! Hala took us all around the city and we saw so much! She was very knowledgeable, and it felt like a friend was taking us around her neighborhood. Highly recommend, especially if Hala is your tour guide!

Our Guide, Marco Barbazza was excellent and very accommodating and very knowledgeable. Just one piece of Advice: Venice in July is very busy and extremely hot. A 3 hour walking tour over the warmest part of the day is not a good idea. Plan this shorter or very early or very late in the afternoon...
