viator is a scam

Laurent_C, Nov 2026

This is a scam This site is a scam. I bought tickets for an exhibition and received the tickets, but they never sent the QR codes. As a result, I had to buy the tickets again on the exhibition's official platform (teamLab in Tokyo). After I filed a documented complaint, their only response was that there would be no refund, with no further explanation.

Illegal Tickets on Viator

Francesca_A, Oct 2026

Tickets bought on Viator did not work. You need a ticket with a QR code to enter. I received an email with a voucher. TeamLab told me the ticket was sold by a 3rd party illegally & that I needed to buy directly from their website. I did re-buy tickets from their website & those tickets were less expensive & did work! TeamLab was amazing!

Response from Host, Nov 2026

We’re truly sorry for the distress and inconvenience this experience caused. For some bookings, the Viator voucher serves as the booking confirmation, while separate admission details are provided according to the instructions. We appreciate your feedback and are reviewing this process to make the information clearer and help guests prepare with confidence before their visit.
